Chapter 7
Alec's POV:
"So," Izzy said as she walked into the room. "I see you have the promise ring on. Everything's fine now, yeah?"
"Yeah. Everything's great now." I said with a grin on my face.
"I love seeing you happy! Magnus better never hurt you like that ever again or I swear to God I'll-"
"Izzy, I love how much you care about me. But enough about my love life. How's yours?" I asked as she took a seat next to me on the beige couch in the living room.
"It's going okay. I went on a date, about a week ago, with this girl named Clary."
"And? How did it go?"
"Well she was really sweet and beautiful, she had raging red hair, but I think that we both agreed to just stay friends. Oh, I did meet this one guy, Simon, a couple days ago. He's so handsome and funny. He's a bit of a nerd but I love that and I think it might go further...I don't know."
"I'd like to meet this Simon." I said nodding. "But if he ever does anything to hurt you, ever, I swear to God I'll-"
"I know what you'll do, you're a fitness trainer, a boxing trainer, a kong fu trainer, a ju jitsu trainer, a- well, you get the point." She said as she pointed at each finger as though making a mental list.
"Haha!" I said sarcastically. "But seriously, I never meet any of you significant others. Let me know how it goes, I'd love to meet him."
"Don't you dare embarrass me."
"Oh please, do you remember when you met Magnus for the first time? God, it was the worst." I said, remembering how they sat there for about 3 hours talking about makeup.
"Oh come on, that wasn't embarrassing."
"Yeah cos 'Damn! That eyeliner is on fleak!' isn't embarrassing...when it's the first thing you say when he walks in." I said sarcastically as we both started laughing. Her dark black hair was intertwined into a braid that was flung over her shoulder. She was wearing a blood read pyjama top and grey tracksuit bottoms. She was so beautiful even when she wasn't trying. I envy her.
Magnus's POV:
"So," Ragnor said as he walked into the room. "I see you have the promise ring on. Everything's fine now, yeah?"
"Yeah yeah. We're good now. You know? Even in death you give the best advice."
After a long pause he replied with a confused, "But I'm not dead."
"I know...I just heard this guy say it on TV and he sounded pretty cool so I wanted to use it at least once in my life. It felt like the right time."
Still looking at me confused he said, "You're so weird."
"You knew what you signed up for when you agreed to be my friend." I replied with a sense of know it all in my voice.
"Very true." He said as he brushed his hands through his dark brown hair, sweeping it back to reveal his face. He was pale, but he was British so it was understandable. His thick accent made him seem smart even when he said the most stupid things.
We had been through so much together and so I was completely comfortable around him. He was truly my best friend.
