Chapter 6
Mr. Reiter POV
I kept walking, wondering why Keila was like this. I knew at some point I'd have to sit with her and talk, about what was really going on. I needed to know if something was bothering her, and I had already experienced enough, and I hated to see students sad like this.
I watched as she fingered her cast, she had told me that it was just a sprain, a light one that would be better soon, but I didn't believe it, I knew it was probably a lie.
"Keila, are you sure you are okay?" I asked as I looked ahead.
"I'm sure, I don't need to be..." I waited as she searched for the right word. "babied."
I didn't reply, I understood what she meant, but the way she said babied was different than what I'd expect. As if she was never really babied because she didn't let anyone baby her, but she didn't mind it. She must have just been having a hard time or might be one of those people who hid things well. I could tell, she was going to be hard to get.

Narrator POV
All they could do was think, no talking, just walking. At least now they had their own separate thoughts, time to think to themselves.
Ahead of them was the camp, it wasn't too far, and luckily they had stopped close enough. All they had to do was walk, not too far.
Keila was quiet all the way, as was her teacher. They kept walking, and as they did, Keila wondered what Mr. Reiter was so worried about. She didn't know what it was with him, she had always been used to being ignored, this seemed to be different.
Or could it just be that she'd never been shown affection?
