Chapter 35

Laura POV

Keila has just been off lately, she is always quiet, but never this bad... I hope she gets better and will talk to be about what's going on. I miss her talking to me and I haven't been talking to her lately and I feel so bad. Am I the reason she is acting like this? I know it's her birthday, so I don't wanna bring this up...but I'm just really worried about her.

I wrote this in my journal, the same thing I do every day. I sat and watched as people went walking by, I particularly noticed Keila walking down the hall from TDI to some other class. She went on chatting with one of her friends, at least I thought that boy was her friend. I really did miss her, had she replaced me?

Jonah POV

I watched as Keila walked forward, to our next class, LA. I saw discomfort as she walked but in her speech and expression, it seemed like she was fine. But as I looked deeper, I could tell she was uncomfortable. I knew she wasn't a people person, I've seen her struggle with that, but this was more. Her eyes said it all. She would zone out or something, or sometimes she would just keep on talking to distract herself.

I started to talk to her about a project we were doing, I talked to her about how this would take forever and that she didn't have to do it. Yet, she insisted. She and another one of her friends, Samara had wanted to but needed my help. I said yes, but I knew how hard this might be, but then again, I couldn't leave the girls to do it alone.

I shrugged. "Fine, I say yes,"

"Good, now you can't turn back," Keila said quietly as we reached the class.

I watched as she walked away slowly to her desk. Something was really off with her, but I couldn't figure it out. I'd have to ask her later when I get the chance. Later when we do our next project.

I watched as she sat and waited. I'm pretty sure it was our snack break, but she didn't seem to get up to get food. Was she without food or just not hungry? Then again, she only ate an apple at school. I sighed as I watched her sit there. I just had this gut feeling, something was wrong.
