Mr. Reiter POV

I watched as Keila fumbled with her words, nervously looking at me. I wondered if I asked something wrong, or if she just didn't know the answer.

She took a deep breath in and leaned closer to me, whispering her reason. My eyes widened. I hadn't known, and now I knew why she couldn't stand practices, why at games she looked dead tired.

I felt as though I pushed her too hard, but I hoped not. I remembered watching her run and how tired she would get during her stretching and when we played games, I understood now why, but I'd leave it at that, it was clear to me she didn't want to talk about it much.

"When did you get diagnosed with this?" I asked as I crossed my arms.

"Since the first day of school," She replied. "Although, I have had it for such a long time without knowing."

I would've asked more questions, but before I could, the bell rang, time to go back inside.

Narrator POV

Keila watched as some girls approached her in the hall, not making way for her to get through. Instead, they all just kept going, she sided to the wall, trying not to get caught up in the crowd. The girls kept going, staring at her in a not nice way and then looking away, the snobs they were after all.

She sighed as she fingered her bag, she knew she didn't look as good as them, or beautiful, she knew that she couldn't do anything about it, her clothes were no difference anyway. She kept going, on her way to her locker, then to practice.

"Hey!" A girl said as she tapped Keila's shoulder.

"Oh, hi Sarina," She replied as she headed down the hallway.

"Are you ready for practice?" She asked as they walked on.

"Yeah, you?" Keila asked.

"Tired, but I'm ready," Sarina replied as she left her to go to her own locker.

Keila watched as she went past, she couldn't help but feel like she wasn't  good enough. She knew that Sarina was loved everywhere, she was the most positive person you'd ever meet.

Keila felt like the opposite, she found it much too hard to be positive, no one loved her, and no one knew her.
