“If Mom and Dad were okay with this, no one would question it,” Yoongi said, pulling off his tie.

“That’s what I thought too. Anyway, I’m really happy now. I think we need to proceed with everything quickly,” Jungkook agreed.

“Yes, talk to Jungkook,” Yoongi instructed.

“Sure,” Hoseok said with a smile.

“I like red,” Tae said, eyeing the bright hues of the shirts.

“Who is this baby? Only wants colorful dresses,” Jungkook laughed, shaking his head.

“Jeoni, please... I want red, pink, and yellow,” Tae pleaded, his eyes bright with excitement.

“Wow... What a combination,” Jungkook remarked. “Alright, as you wish.” He helped Tae pick out three T-shirts: one in yellow, one in red, and one in pink. Tae’s face lit up with happiness. They moved on to another shop.

“Chocolates, please,” Tae said, scrunching his nose adorably.

“Okay, but you have to be a good boy,” Jungkook said with a smile.

“I am a good boy,” Tae replied confidently.

“Jungkook!” someone called from behind. A man with a big smile approached them.

“Hey, Eunwoo. How’s it going?” Jungkook greeted warmly.

“We’re not Jeons. We need to work hard to make ends meet,” Eunwoo replied with a chuckle.

“Shut up,” Jungkook said playfully, giving Eunwoo a light punch on the arm.

“Who’s this? Your cousin?” Eunwoo asked, glancing at Tae. “Hey, baby, what’s your name?”

Tae looked up at Jungkook and then said, “Taehyung.”

“Cute,” Eunwoo said, handing Tae a chocolate. “Is this the cousin you always talk about, the naughty one?”

“Yeah, it’s Taehyung. My...” Jungkook began, but was interrupted when Eunwoo’s phone rang.

“Coming, babe. Wifey’s calling. We’ll catch up later,” Eunwoo said, waving goodbye as he walked away.

Jungkook held Tae’s hand, leading him down the street. Tae followed, his eyes wide with wonder at everything around him.

Jungkook’s mind replayed Eunwoo’s words: “Baby, younger cousin.” The age difference was significant—12 years—but Tae’s childlike behavior made it even more apparent. Jungkook sighed deeply as he watched Tae happily devour an ice cream cone.

“Are you okay?” Tae asked softly, noticing Jungkook’s thoughtful expression.

“Hmm, yeah, I’m fine,” Jungkook reassured him gently.

***********

When Taehyung and Jungkook arrived home, the entire family was gathered, waiting anxiously.

“Where have you been?” Jeon asked, his tone serious and authoritative.

Jungkook tried to explain, but before he could finish, Jeon interjected. “We’ve discussed it, and we’ve decided that Tae can’t accompany here as he’s a stranger now. It’s better for him to stay somewhere else.”

The others chimed in, agreeing with Jeon’s decision. Yoongi, Hoseok, Jimin, and the rest of the family nodded in support, their expressions serious but understanding.

Jungkook looked around, visibly astonished. “What? I won’t leave him alone,” he said firmly, his voice filled with determination.

Yoongi raised an eyebrow and said, “Okay, but if you want to stay with him here, you’ll have to marry him as soon as possible.” His words were surprising and unexpected. The room erupted into laughter, the tension melting away as everyone found humor in the situation.

Mrs. Jeon, with a warm smile, announced, “We’re all in agreement for the marriage.” Her approval was met with cheers and congratulations from the family.

Lisa then brought out a cake, transforming the moment into a small celebration. The atmosphere was filled with joy and excitement as the family rallied around Jungkook and Taehyung, celebrating their upcoming union.

Jungkook glanced at Taehyung, whose face was lit up with happiness. The sight of his smile made Jungkook’s heart swell with affection. Despite the initial surprise, the warmth and support from the family made the situation feel right. As they all enjoyed the cake and laughter, Jungkook felt a renewed sense of commitment and love at the same time something else too.

Jungkook sank into the chair, closing his eyes as he tried to process the whirlwind of emotions. Everyone had agreed to the marriage with Taehyung, and while he was undeniably happy, a sense of unease lingered.

“You have a visitor, boss,” came the notification, pulling Jungkook from his thoughts.

He straightened himself and nodded for the guest to enter. As the door opened, Jungkook's face shifted from curiosity to frown when he saw who it was. “You?”

“Yes,” she said, her voice carrying a hint of concern. “Taehyung has been living with us all these years, and people have been asking about him. I hope he’s doing well.”

Jungkook’s tone was defensive. “Yes, you don’t need to worry about him.”

“I’m not worried about him,” she said, settling into the chair with a serious expression. “I’m worried about you, Jungkook.”

“Why?” Jungkook asked, confused.

“Because Taehyung is childlike,” she explained carefully. “I mean, he hasn’t developed as he should for his age. In more clinical terms, he has a mental condition.”

Jungkook’s eyes widened. “What do you mean?”

“He’s not a typical boy,” she continued. “Most importantly, he can’t offer you the conventional aspects of a marriage. He won’t be able to give you a family or make you happy as a husband, nor can he give you children.”

“Enough,” Jungkook snapped, rising from his seat. “Please leave. I will take care of my personal life.”

“I’m a doctor, Jungkook,” she said calmly, unperturbed by his outburst. “You might be curious about Taehyung now, but once your curiosity fades, you might see him as a burden. You may start to feel frustrated when he can’t fulfill the roles you expect from a spouse. It would be wise to get him some medical help or keep him away from your family. Don’t just take my word for it—take him to a reputable hospital for a thorough evaluation. By the way, my own marriage is fixed,” she added casually, standing up to leave.

Jungkook watched her walk away, his mind racing with her unsettling words. He slowly sank back into the chair, the weight of her comments pressing heavily on his thoughts. His gaze remained fixed on the door as he contemplated her advice, struggling to reconcile his feelings for Taehyung with the harsh reality she had laid out.
