Where are you going, Taetae? his bodyguard asked with a frown.

To meet my hubby. Taehyung blinked at him playfully. How do I look?

As always, cute. The bodyguard smiled.

Okay, bye! Taehyung waved and walked outside.

Wait... I'm coming too! The bodyguard hurried after him.

Taehyung stopped his car in front of Jeon Jungkook’s office, humming a tune as he stepped inside.

"I have work to do, Jungwon. Please leave," Jungkook said, his voice carrying a hint of frustration.

"Only a few days left, yet you're still acting like this," Jungwon pouted. "Come on, JK, we’re getting married soon—"

"We’re not married yet," Jungkook interrupted coldly. "Now, get out."

Jungwon sighed dramatically before standing up. Instead of leaving, he walked over and wrapped his arms around Jungkook.

Jungkook was about to push him away when he suddenly noticed someone standing at the door. His eyes met Taehyung’s. His breath hitched.

Taehyung stood frozen, his expression unreadable, but his eyes—those deep, soulful eyes—were filled with silent agony.

Jungwon, oblivious to the tension, pressed himself closer to Jungkook, thinking he had won a moment of affection.

Taehyung’s vision blurred with tears. Without saying a word, he turned on his heels and walked away, his heart breaking with every step.

Jungkook, snapping out of his daze, forcefully pushed Jungwon away.

"Get out." His voice was sharp, cold.

Jungwon staggered back in shock before quickly leaving.

Jungkook slumped into his chair, his face blank. The room felt unbearably empty.

Outside, Taehyung stood near his car, watching Jungwon walk towards his own vehicle. His mind was clouded, his chest tightening with emotions he couldn’t contain.

Then, without a second thought, he stepped on the accelerator.

The loud screech of tires echoed through the street.

A sickening thud followed.

Jungwon’s body hit the ground with a cry of pain.

Taehyung didn’t stop. He reversed the car, taking one last look at the chaos behind him before speeding away, a twisted smile playing on his lips.

His bodyguard sat in shock, gripping his seat as he watched the scene unfold. A crowd quickly gathered around Jungwon, shouts of panic filling the air.

The bodyguard turned back to Taehyung, his face pale.

What just happened?

But Taehyung kept driving, his expression unreadable. And for the first time, his smile didn’t reach his eyes.

***********

The police reviewed the CCTV footage once more. The only visuals they had were of people gathering around Jungwon and rushing him to the hospital. The rest—perfectly erased.

Jungkook frowned. "Maybe some kind of error?"

The officer sighed, nodding. "Possibly. We’ll keep investigating." He gave Jungkook a sharp look before walking out.

As soon as the door closed, Jungkook’s gaze darkened. His eyes locked onto Lisa, the only other person besides him who had access to the CCTV system.

"Why did you do it?" His voice was dangerously low.

.

Lisa raised a brow. "Do what?" she asked, feigning confusion.

"Don’t play games with me, Lisa. I know you deleted the footage."

She let out an exaggerated sigh, crossing her arms. "What footage?" she said nonchalantly.

Jungkook clenched his fists. "Taehyung. He was here. I saw him with my own eyes." His voice rose with frustration.

Lisa smirked. "I think you're really falling for him, Jungkook. That’s why you keep seeing him everywhere."

She leaned closer, her tone mocking. "And that boy... Jungwon, did he die?" She tilted her head, a cold smile forming. "If not, I’ll make sure to pray for his death."

Grabbing her bag, she turned on her heel and walked out, leaving Jungkook standing there, his jaw clenched and mind racing.

*********

Jungkook’s mother rushed to him the moment he stepped into the house, worry evident in her eyes. But Jungkook, still seething with anger, ignored her. Without a word, he stormed to his room and slammed the door shut with a loud thud.

She was about to follow him when the doorbell rang. Letting out a sigh, she walked over and opened the door—only to be greeted by an all-too-familiar smirk.

"Hi, Mrs. Fake Mother-in-Law." Taehyung grinned. "Did my hubby come home?"

Her eyes narrowed. "You tried to kill Jungwon. I know it was you."

Taehyung let out a small chuckle, unfazed. "Yes, it was me. But don’t worry—my dear father-in-law’s million-dollar influence will make sure everything disappears." He smirked, tilting his head.

Her hands clenched into fists. "What are you doing here, Taehyung?" she asked through gritted teeth.

He sighed dramatically. "Husband and wife should live together, don’t you think? So from today, I’m staying with my hubby."

Without waiting for permission, he picked up his luggage and stepped inside as if he owned the place.

She stared at him in disbelief. "Where is his room? Oh—there it is." Taehyung spotted the door and headed straight for it.

"Hey! You—!" she shouted, but it was too late.

Taehyung had already climbed the stairs, a triumphant smirk on his face.
