"What are you doing, Jungwon?" Mr. Kim asked as he sat down beside his grandson.

"I saw him today..." Jungwon said, his voice trembling with suppressed anger.

"Who?" Mr. Kim frowned.

"Kim Taehyung," Jungwon replied, gritting his teeth, "with Jungkook."

"Where?" Mr. Kim's tone sharpened.

"In the park." Jungwon's jaw tightened as he continued, "He looked like he’d forgotten everything about that boy... yet somehow, he still seemed happy in his presence. Taehyung was holding him like he owned him." His voice broke slightly before he added, "Grandpa, it's not that I want Jungkook... but I don’t want Taehyung to be with him either. Please... do something to stop them."

Mr. Kim gave him a small, calculated smile. "Don't worry, Jungwon. Let me handle it. They will never be together."

************

"Do I look good?" Taehyung asked, adjusting his jacket.

"Yes, you do," his companion replied hesitantly. "But if the boss finds out you're attending an interview at Jeon's firm, then—"

"No one is going to find out," Taehyung interrupted, pouting. "I want Jungkook. Please."

"Fine," the companion relented. "Let's go. But don't cause any drama there, or they'll kick you out."

"I'm a good boy," Taehyung said with a cheeky smile before striding out confidently.

"My resume," Taehyung announced, handing his file to the interview board.

"Kim Taehyung... son of Kim Namjoon," one of the panelists noted, glancing at the document. "Why would someone like you want to work at another firm?"

"Why can't Kim Taehyung, son of Kim Namjoon, work at another firm?" Taehyung raised an eyebrow.

"You can, of course," the panelist said quickly. "It's just surprising. Your father is a renowned scientist and owns a successful family business."

"That's not a reason for me not to work here," Taehyung replied sharply. "I want your boss. I mean... I want to work with your boss. So, select me now. Otherwise, I'll tell my Appa that you insulted me. And you know he knows the President. They’ll punish you."

The interview board members exchanged awkward glances.

From another room, Jungkook observed the scene on a monitor. His jaw clenched in frustration. "Such a kid," he muttered under his breath.

"I didn't get the job!" Taehyung exclaimed, pouting as he stomped out. "I answered every question perfectly. I was the best!"

"It's okay, Bubba," his bodyguard reassured him. "Let's go home."

"Tae!" a voice called out, catching Taehyung's attention.

He turned to see Lisa approaching. "Hi, noona!" he greeted with a bright smile.

"How are you?" Lisa asked, pulling him into a gentle hug. "Where have you been all these years? Do you know how much we missed you? Jimin, Rose, Jungwon, Yeonju, Soobin—everyone’s been waiting to see you!"

"I’ll visit someday, noona," Taehyung promised with a soft smile.

"Not just at home," Lisa insisted, handing him a card. "This is our address. Come here, okay?"

"Excuse me," Jungkook interrupted, stepping between them. "Do you know him?" he asked Lisa directly.

"Yes," she replied firmly. "He’s my brother’s fiance." She met Jungkook’s gaze with unwavering confidence.

"Oh, I see." Jungkook's expression was unreadable as he turned to Taehyung. "Congratulations."

"Thanks," Taehyung said with a bright smile, his tone almost teasing. "Can I have a word with you, Mr. Jeon?" Taehyung asked, stepping forward hesitantly.

Jungkook raised an eyebrow but nodded. "Yes."

They moved to a quieter corner, away from prying eyes.

"Will you please give me a job?" Taehyung pleaded earnestly. "I'm a good boy, I swear... Please... Please."

Jungkook sighed, crossing his arms. "Look, Taehyung, this is one of the finest firms. We’re looking for—"

"Please!" Taehyung interrupted, grabbing Jungkook's hand tightly. "I need this job... Please!"

Jungkook's gaze fell on the ring on Taehyung's finger—a silver band with the letter J delicately carved into it. His chest tightened as he recognized it. J... Jimin's fiancé.

A pang of something sharp and unidentifiable stabbed through him. He took a deep breath, his expression hardening.

"Get out," Jungkook said coldly.

Taehyung blinked, startled. "But, Mr. Jeo"

"I said, get out!" Jungkook’s voice rose, cutting him off.

Taehyung froze, the sudden outburst leaving him momentarily speechless.

"Let’s go, sir," Taehyung’s bodyguard said, rushing over. He grabbed Taehyung’s arm gently but firmly, guiding him away.

Taehyung nodded reluctantly, casting a quick glance back at Jungkook before turning to Lisa and giving her a faint nod of acknowledgment.

Jungkook stood rooted in place, his hands clenched into fists. His eyes darkened as he stared at the spot where Taehyung had stood.

Jimin’s fiance... The thought lingered in his mind, unsettling him in ways he couldn’t understand.
