chapter nine
After a long, interesting, day of school, I'm walking home with my brothers. I refuse to be alone with Garroth when he has potions from now on.
"So, you're a meif'wa now?" My ears twich at Vylad's question. I nod my head slowly as my tail wraps around my leg. "How?"
"I was helping Garroth with something, and he decided to add a blue and red potion together. They weren't supposed to go together, and well... He ran away, and I was affected by the reaction."
Later that day I was just casually lying on my bed doing homework. That was until Zane walks into my room telling me to go downstairs. Mom has important news for us, and she can't tell us all at separate times.
Vylad came in and talked to me earlier. He wants me to talk to Laurance, and for us to be friends again. He doesn't like me getting hurt. But if course, niether do the rest of my brother. Even Zane, but he doesn't want to admit it.
By the time I make it down all the stairs, I see Hayden and the three Zvahl siblings standing in our living room. My brothers share the same facial expression as me, confused.
"The Zvahls need to stay with us foe the next month while Hayden is out for a business trip," Dad announces. The three siblings are sent to different places in the house to set down their stuff, and then we all just chill together in the living room.
This isnt the first time they've had to do this. With Hayden being a single parents and having moving business trips, they stay over here when he's gone for more than two weeks. Which is pretty rare may I add.

Mom has been on edge lately about the new baby, and honestly I'm kind of hoping it will be a girl. This house is filled with boys, and I'm out numbered.
We've had a few 'baby meetings', and I didn't even know those were a thing until we had the first one. It was complete and utter chaos. They forgot about Vylad, so he was meditating in his room. Dad, he left once he got a phone call. In the end I'm just surprised that mom wasn't banging her hand against the wall.
Except it all changed when we came home one day. Walking into the house I knew something was wrong. The atmosphere was different, and kind of depressing. Mom looked like a mess, and the mascara stained cheeks can justify that.
Which brings us to this time in history. I begin to fiddle with my tail, and mom just sits on a stool at the kitchen counter. Something happened, and she's not telling us.
"Mom," I breath. "What's the matter? Is everything alright?"
"I...I-I...I-It's the b-baby."
Listening to her stutters makes my heart break. I knew instantly what was the matter once those words escaped her lips.
Garroth gave mom a reassuring hug, "It's alright mommy. You can tell us."
"The baby... i-its... gone."
And that was it, the baby, the one thing that has been the talk of the Ro'meave's household. The same one Zane pretends not to want, but he'll adore anyway; dead.

Third Person's POV
It's been quiet in the Ro'meave's house. Zianna called the children in sick, and Garte is still on his business trip. He remains without the knowledge of his unborn child being dead.
Both the Zvahl and Ro'meave children haven't spoken a word about the unborn child in front of the grieving mother. They feared that it would only hurt the mother's feelings if they did, and they decided to keep the topic hushed.
The mother herself, Zianna, fears of what her husband would think of her. She let their baby die, and she beats herself up because of it. It wasn't her fault the baby died, but she won't realize that. She was too scared of the possibility her husband wouldn't love her anymore.
Zianna's peppy personality has shut down, and she's blocking herself out if the world. She knew Garte wouldn't be back for the rest of the week, and she dreads to tell him the saddening news. Instead of her normal attire, she now replaces it with baggy clothing, with the addition of the make up stains that runs down her cheeks.
Y/N's POV
Currently us seven children are sitting in my room trying to figure out an idea. We haven't gotten very fair, and that tends to get a little frustrating. The baby's dead, and it seems like a little piece of mom is dead too.
Laurance sits up propped against the wall. Cadenza is sitting next to him, and her head lays gently on his shoulder.
Laurance sighs. A defeated expression overtakes his delicate features, and it's a sad sight to see.
Vylad is sitting on my Spinny chair. One knee is brought up to his chest, and he appears to be engrossed in his thoughts.
"Has," I watch as everybody's gaze turns towards Vylad. "... Has anybody thought of what's running through mom's head?" His voice was fairly shakey.
The answer to that question is fairly simple: yes. We all know what she's thinking, but none of us know how he will react to it.
"She's probably wondering what to tell your father," Cadenza answers before anybody else does, letting a single tear run down her cheek.
"Cadenza's oldest, she's a junior and a female. She'd know this better than any of us," Laurance throws in.
My phone's notification sound goes off to show new message for a group chat.
