Chapter 4
Chapter 4:
Maxine Henderson:
My hand flicked in a swift motion, applying the mascara brush to my long eyelashes and I sat it down on the edge of the sink.
After placing the mascara down I grabbed a hold of my foundation and applied it onto my thin cheeks in a round circle.
Once I was done applying it I sat it down into my spotty makeup bag and zipped it up.
I bent over, my feet holding all my weight and shoved the bag into the neatly organized cupboard that was situated underneath the sink.
Leaning my hand against the cold tiles I lifted myself up, squeezing one last look in the mirror before editing the bathroom.
"Maxine! Are you ready?" I heard my twin brother shout from the garage.
I remained quiet and walked into my bedroom, my eyes meeting my small, white Lonsdale bag that sat in the corner of my bedroom beside my double bed.
The double bed had perfectly made covers white and light blue stripes going across.
My pillows were set neatly at the top of my bed alongside my white bear that I was saving for the most adorable little.
The little girls name was Saffron and she had small pigtails that were curly and brown.
Her smile was the type that would make anyone smile in return and put them in an instant happy mood.
I stooped daydreaming about the girl and bent over grabbing a hold of my light bag that had about four books in it, along with my food.
I put it around my shoulders and walked out of my bedroom, past the corridor where all the family photos were.
The short maid was sweeping the dark timbered floor with her head down showing her long red hair that reached beneath her shoulders.
"Hey Mrs Z." I waved at her as I walked fast, a smile on my face.
"Hello dear. Going to school?" She responded with her sweet voice.
"Yeah I'm in my way out now. I'll see you later." I waved her goodbye and headed out to the large loungroom with the four seated leather lounge and plasma TV.
I heard someone from the TV talk about a murder and cringed, opening the white, wooden door.
The door knob twisted opening the door and revealing the outside world.
The trees whistled and blew in the wind, in which rippled through my body warmly.
I reached the garage door and looked in to see Max staring at a trophy shelf with a look of curiosity on his face.
"What are you looking at?" I asked.
"These trophies. Where do they come from?" Max asked me, his eyebrow raised in curiosity.
"Trophies?" I responded and made my way over to his side where there were lines of football shaped trophies in laying positions.
Walking closer towards the shelf my hand made its way to the shelf and picked up one of the trophies and I twisted it in circles until I spotted a black plaque covered in dust.
Moving my finger over it, I watched the dust fly away and my attention turned back to the trophy.
I read out the white writing, "Daniel Henderson."
I pulled a brown piece of hair and tucked it into my ear.
"These were dads trophies?" He asked me in shock.
"I guess so. It says here that his team came first in football, 1985."
These trophies made me curious.
Why would dad hide them in the garage face down?
I don't recall ever hearing dad talk about playing football when he was younger.
"Wow." He breathed.
I shrugged my shoulder and turned around to open the car door suddenly remembered that the reason we were out her was to get in the car so we could go to school.
I hopped in the car, shutting the door behind me and I waited for Max to notice that I had gotten bored and gone in the car.
I heard the door slam shut and I turned my body to face my brother who was putting his seatbelt on.
I heard the pedal click and Max's foot press down onto it and I turned my body back around to face the front where the surroundings came into my view.
Leaning into the leather seat I stared out the window in a daze as the trees on my side whizzed last me until I saw houses in which went slower because they were larger and less of them.
Some of the houses were bricked while others were just this flat cardboard like material coloured with different coloured paints.
There were blues, links, yellows, whites and others that I couldn't recognize as the paint was peeling off showing only white.
I felt the car jerk into the school car park and I bolted up out of my daze.
Glancing at my brother I saw him twist the steering wheel and drive into an empty spot.
When we were parked I opened my car door and walked over to the four blondes who were talking to each other, their smiles prominent.
"Hey guys." I waved at the four girls.
"Maxine!" They all waved back at me their smiles growing bigger if that was even possible.
I turned my head slightly and met my eyes with Max's as I rolled my eyes in annoyance despite the fact that I was the one who walked over to them first out of sheer friendliness.
Turning my head back towards the girls I asked them, "how was your weekend?"
"Good." They responded individually and my eyes flooded with relief.
So they would talk without going creepily in sinc.
Yes, I admit that sometimes I do that with Max, but come on he's my twin, not my friend.
I was about to say something else to them when the bell interrupted our car park talk.
The four girl left after saying their goodbyes and I sighed making my way over ti Max who then realized I was walking over and begun to walk towards me himself.
I smiled at him, my teeth becoming evident and I closed my mouth back over while walking in silence to C block.
I wrapped my finger into my soft hair and twirled the strand in boredom
I untangled it when Max and I reached the classroom where I stood daydreaming.
I imagined little kids In a run down house full of cobwebs and breaking wooden doors.
The little kids lay on the hard ground sleeping with their heads on their kneeling parents who were looking down at them with a frown as they whispered, "it'll be alright my darling."
The kids didn't hear their parents though as they were fast asleep in the laps of their mum and dads.
Snapping out of my heartbreaking daydream I wax then Mr Crow unlock the door with his keys and I noticed his sweaty or maybe greasy grey hair and stuck my tongue out in disgust.
Get some hygiene, seriously.
Moving forward I entered the classroom and sat behind the desk where Max and Damon sat talking to each other.
Probably dwelling on the way Damon talked.
I has to admit, it was funny.
Pulling the chair out I sat myself on it.
Twisting my neck to the right I glanced up at Mr Crow who glared at us his left eye twitching slightly causing his rather large and pointy nose to twitch as well.
I laughed silently at him and listened for him to call my name.
"Damon Eastwood?" Mr Crow dragged as though he was in great pain.
I decided to tune out of his painful voice and stared at the bumpy ceiling that was in the shape of a square.
I brought my head down and lent it against the table feeling it move over slightly and I lifted my head up to see the desk too had moved over slightly revealing a great amount of gum and I stuck my tongue out, my right eye shutting over completely.
That's so gross.
Almost as bad as Mr Crow and his disgusting hair.
Damn! So many cringe worthy things.
"Max Henderson?" I heard from the droning teacher.
Max raised his muscly arm in the air and I noticed a bunch of girls eye boggling him and his muscles.
"Maxine Henderson?" He called out and I raised my arm and replied.
"Here, sir!"
After my name was called I begun daydreaming and stared the the posters of movies.
They seemed to be all boring ones such as; The Chosen One, Paranormal Activity, Romeo and Juliet and many others that I didn't bother looking at as I heard the bell indicating first period.
Everyone started shuffling out with annoyance as they begun to run into each other until they were out the door.
I caught up to a group of people I talked to in class and waved at them with a small smile.
"Hey. What you's doing?"
They all responded one by one.
Chelsea one of my better friends from the group responded to me first.
"Were clearly going to class." Chelsea laughed the sunlight reflecting in the roots of her brown hair.
The next to answer was Jessica with, " I really don't think you took that into account Maxine."
Jessica smiled at me showing her pearly white teeth that had obviously been worked on extensively.
"Yeah me neither." I laughed a little bit.
We all went silent as we passed a bunch of guys working on the broken roof and creating red strokes.
I focused my attention on the door beside it.
A3.
I sighed and lent against the brick wall and chatted to my friends with a smile plastid on my face.
I stared at the concrete wall that was halfway up which showed the top of the crinkled cut, creams window.
Deciding against staring at the wall I looked back to my group of friends who were all in deep conversation.
This day was going to be boring, I could tell.
