Chapter 24
Chapter 24:
Lincoln Xavier:
Instead of going to class I stood underneath some stairs hooking up with a girl by the name of Zoe Welsh.
Her hand rubbed my six pick gingerly and I had both my arms wrapped around her curvy waist.
Zoe accidentally bit my lip a little too hard and I pulled back gasping, my finger wiping the dripping blood off my lip.
"Um, err, sorry." Zoe said blushing and looking at the ground.
"It's okay." I said putting my finger underneath her chin and lifting it up.
"You're a great kisser by the way." I winked at her and she blushed again, her fingers wrapped around her arm.
Could I just say that this girl looked adorable standing there blushing like crazy.
"Really? Why do you even want to hook up with me anyway. I've only hooked up because a guy lied to me about his feelings for me just so he could hurt me. I don't even know why u just skipped class and hooked up with you. You're going to do the exact same thing." She said to the ground and fiddled with a strand of her red hair.
"Hey, hey, look up at my face. I'm not going to do the same thing. I'm telling the truth." I smiled at her.
"How can I be so sure?" She asked gazing into my eyes with her pretty green ones.
"How about this, no more kissing for the both of us and um maybe you could meet me somewhere this afternoon as friends maybe?" I asked the girl, my heart thumping in my chest.
This was the first time I was offering to spend time with a girl without just for a good hook up since Lydia.
She should feel privileged, but I just felt this weird pulling sensation in my gut saying that I should really do this.
She was cute anyway.
"I'd actually love that, by the way you're an awesome kisser too."
For some reason I blushed at this comment but I hid it by leaning my head down and ruffling my hair.
Once I felt the heat from my cheeks I looked up at her and smiled sweetly.
You could see Zoe's freckles in the sunlight that had started shining down on us and it reminded me of the way Lydia's eyes lit up in the sun in this beautiful way and I sighed.
So she enters my thoughts again.
"Well I better go and tell my teacher some random excuse why I wasn't in class. What class do you have Zoe?" I asked the girl.
"I've got commerce."
"Oh really, that's what I've got." I laughed.
Now thinking on it I do recall having her in my elective, but damn how did I not notice this chick earlier?
The boys always wolf whistled at her in commerce and I thought nothing on it because I was too busy daydreaming shout Lydia or lip locking with some random chick.
"Oh wow who knew that you were in my class." She laughed, a smile appearing on her rounded cheeks which showed two dimples on either side.
"I'll walk with you there and help you with your excuse seen as I got us into this mess just because I craved stupid hook ups?" I said rolling my eyes.
"So the biggest player just called craving hook up stupid, aye?" Zoe laughed and walked next to me, her skin prickling into my arm.
"Yeah. It's true though, that's what I think." I sighed turning towards the stairs to A block.
"The why do you break girls hearts and hook up then have sex with them?" She asked me bluntly.
"If I tell you a secret will you keep it?" I asked, stopping in the middle of the stairs, staring intently into her face.
"Of course. I don't exactly have anyone to tell it to." She said frowning.
"Alright, well all the girls I've hooked up with I've refused to have sex with with them and I have only ever kissed one chick where I took away her first kiss."
"Wait, what, so you're a Virgin?" She said, her eyes widened as we turned down the corridor.
I laughed and shook my head.
"No, I've had sex, but only once." I told her and I could hear her muttering things to herself.
I knocked on the painted door twice and the teacher opened it, her unruly blonde hair left out.
"Why are you two so late, Zoe, Lincoln?" The teacher demanded, her wrinkles sagging a bit and her glasses sat neatly across the bridge if her nose.
"Sorry Miss Peyser, but Zoe fell on the way to class and I had to help her." I told the teacher and she rolled her blue eyes allowing the two of us to enter the classroom.
Zoe waded through the sea of chairs to the back of the classroom and I followed suit, sitting beside her.
The whole class had their eyes turned towards us and some of them had their mouths agape.
"I suggest you guys better close your mouths. You might catch those flies that are buzzing around the place." I glared at them, my eyes narrowing causing my nose to scrunch up a little.
Zoe looked at me as a straight lined smile came across her features.
"Thanks." She whispered and I nodded back at her and winked at a random girl who was staring at me still.
The random girl giggled and started gossiping to her friends who started giggling alongside her and I rolled my eyes.
I started daydreaming and lent my head against the cool table and started feeling my eyes drooped further and further down.
I snapped the open and breathed heavily.
My sleep last night was yet another crap sleep all thanks to my stupid nightmares.
Now I would fall asleep in class but there was no way I wanted to wake up looking like I was in distress because of my nightmares of her.
As I thought about that my eyes closed together and the darkness overwhelmed me until her room showed up.
Lydia was laying across her bed with her eyes open but they looked somewhat dead and didn't have their usual sparkle left in them.
I walked over to her and touched her cheek that had gone pale, feeling a cold shiver run through my body and I jumped back, muffling a scream when I saw that there was blood pouring out if her wrists and leaking onto her bed.
"Lydia! Lydia!." I cried putting my head against her skinny stomach and felt a wetness drip down my cheeks.
"You can't be gone. I love you, I love you!" I screamed and nobody attempted to come down and see what was going on.
It seemed as though nobody cared except me.
Was that why she committed suicide?
Lifting my head I out my fingers against her neck in attempts to see if there was a pulse left.
There wasn't one.
I was too late.
For the next half an hour I just sat there crying and shaking, screaming out occasionally.
Why couldn't I have saved her?
Why didn't I notice anything was wring with her?
I felt someone shaking me and I opened my eyes, squinting when the light blinded me.
"Um you were screaming in your sleep." Zoe said from beside me, looking a little more pale than usual.
"What was I screaming?" I asked sighing and lifted my head up, focusing my attention on the red head beside me who had a look of concern written on her face.
"You were screaming the name Lydia. Wasn't she that girl who committed suicide and nobody seems to know why?" Zoe asked and I frowned, glaring at the table.
"Yeah that's the girl." I whispered.
"Why were you screaming her name?"
"Um oh you don't want to know." I told her.
"Oh, okay I'll but out then." She half smiled genuinely.
"Thanks." I said gazing up at the teacher who was sitting at her desk licking her finger as she flicked through a bunch of papers.
To think on it, one of my papers most likely now had her spit on it, gross.
Finding what the teacher was doing un-interesting I gazed at the board that had running writing written across it indicating what we were suppose to do and I snatched a pice of paper from the bottom of my bag along with a pen.
I scrambled some random words across it just before the bell rung through the classroom and all the kids stood up to get out if the classroom as quickly as they could.
I remained in my seat and shoved the paper into my bag and stood up waiting for Zoe.
Zoe shoved all her books and work into her work and smiled up at me, zipping her bag up.
"What class do you have now?" I asked her whopping away a drop of sweat from my forehead.
"English, you?"
"Geography here." I groaned in realisation.
I picked my bag up and threw it across the classroom and it landed on top of the third table in the third last row of tables.
The teacher snapped her head over to the bag and looked back at me with a glare.
She stood yo from her seat and walked down the aisle, taking her glasses off from the bridge of her nose and she tucked a strand of her hair loosely behind her ear.
"Why did you just chuck your bag across the room. I understand that you have my class next but you need to line up with the rest of them outside and Zoe off to class." She flicked her wrist as she lectured me.
"Alright miss, sorry." Zoe said about to turn around before I put my hand onto her arm and whispered into her ear.
"Meet me at Gloria Jeans in Kmart at four thirty. Bye."
"Bye Lincoln Xavier." She waved over at me as she exited the classroom and I turned to face the teachers scolding face in which was directed towards me.
