3: In Sight
[OP: "Grow"--The Oh Hellos]
Bakugo chased Camie much farther in the rocks than they realized because they all looked the same, and finally Camie ran out of breath and leaned on one of them.
"All right, I give, I give," she gasped.
Bakugo caught up to her then and put his hand on the rock next to her shoulders. "Stop freaking making fun of me to your dumb friends!"
"I'm sorry, all right? You're such a drama queen." Camie put her hands up. "I didn't mean anything bad."
"Stop telling them I'm freaking shy too!"
"But you are," Camie said, like it was nothing.
Bakugo's ears turned red, and he turned and blasted into some rocks, displacing the beetles next to them.
"Calm down, angry boi," Camie said. "Gosh, what did that rock ever do to you?"
"It's pissing me off," Bakugo said. "And so are you."
"I'm sorry. I already said I was sorry. Are you gonna let it go or what?" Camie rolled her eyes. "What do you want me to do, go back there and tell them I hurt your feelings?"
"Freaking no way!"
"Then what?"
"Just stop doing it."
"Well, you could have just asked me to before and not chased me out here," Camie said. "I, like, get it--you didn't want anyone else to hear this, and it's totes romantic to be alone and all--and after, like, 5 days crowded by other people--but aren't you worried about getting lost in here?"
"No," Bakugo said. "I can just blast up there and see where we are."
"Right, I guess that works," Camie said. "Well, since we're alone anyway--" She jumped at him and hugged his chest.
"What are you doing?" Bakugo turned beet red.
"We've barely had time to cuddle at all since Mist Village," Camie said. "So I'm taking the chance now before the others find us."
"Are you nuts? We have to get back to them, and you're trying to suffocate me," Bakugo huffed, embarrassed.
"They can wait, like, 5 minutes, Bae... Unless you're saying you don't want to hug me," Camie said.
"It's stupid to do it just for the sake of doing it," Bakugo said. "It has to feel like the right time."
"I feel like any time is right to hug you." Camie straightened. "Because I'm not ashamed of my feelings, but you're always acting like you're embarrassed by liking me."
"I'm not freaking embarrassed by you," Bakugo said.
"No? You don't think people think less of you because I'm such an airhead?"
"I think they're stupid if they think that, and their opinion doesn't matter to me," Bakugo said.
"Then it doesn't matter to me if people think you're super angry and loud, 'cause I know they don't know you the same way." Camie held up her hand. "But I didn't want them to think that, so I was just trying to explain. Is that so wrong? I thought it would bother you."
"Well, it freaking doesn't. You don't need to defend me," Bakugo said.
"But you always defend me from them, and I want to be a good girlfriend," Camie said, giving him the doe-eyed begging look that always somehow worked despite Bakugo not being the type you would think it would work on.
Bakugo felt like he was going to cave and lose what was left of his dignity.
"Stop freaking doing that." He looked away. "It's annoying."
"Oh? 'Cause it looks like it's working on you and you're just embarrassed," Camie said slyly. "Come on, you can't resist me."
"I freaking can," Bakugo argued.
"Fine, but why would you want to?" Camie said. "I'm adorable."
"Hpmhf, that's what you think."
"No one does mean flirting quite like you," Camie sighed. "As in: you really aren't that good at it at all, actually. But it's cute when you try."
"Don't call me cute!"
"But you are cute. Come on, it's normal to think your boyfriend is cute," Camie argued.
Only Camie and Bakugo would have been arguing about something like this while they were cut off from the crew.
"Stop it," Bakugo griped.
"Someone's not comfortable with receiving affection," Camie said. "Does it scare you?"
"Frick no--" Bakugo paused. "Move this way."
"Uh...why?" Camie asked. "Did you change your mind?"
"No, there's a scorpion on that rock behind you."
"If that's you trying to scare me back, that's not funny," Camie said. "Because I hate scorpions. They're like the devil's bugs."
"Just move this way, Camie.," Bakugo insisted.
Camie slowly turned to see if there actually was something there--and there was.
And it was huge, too. The shinobi scorpions were quite formidable. Some of them were used in jutsus.
You could have heard Camie's scream in the next territory.
She jumped a few feet at least--away from the scorpion thankfully.
The scorpion seemed to take that as a challenge and started to crawl down the rock, but Bakugo blasted it to heck before it even got all the way to the ground.
Camie was gripping his free hand. "That was so not cool..." she said. "Ugh, I hate that. I take it back, this is not romantic at all. This place is creepy. Are there more of those?"
"Wow," Bakugo said. "All that talk and you're going to get scared by a little bug?"
"That was not a little bug!" Camie said. "Are you enjoying this, you sicko?"
"It's just funny how fast you change your tune," Bakugo said.
"I really didn't think your sense of humor was this trashy," Camie said. "You're making fun of that thing scaring the crap out of me. That's so mean."
"No, I just think you're letting a little thing like that get you off track."
"We weren't on track according to you," Camie said. "Normally I'd kiss you for saving me from that, but you don't deserve it now."
"I freaking do!" Bakugo insisted. "I blasted that thing to hell."
"Yeah, back where it came from," Camie said. "Eh, I guess I can't be too mad right now. Are there any more of them?"
"Could be a whole nest of them around here somewhere," Bakugo said, as if he would like to hunt it. "That could be fun..."
"No!" Camie latched onto his arm. "Don't you dare! Haven't you heard of not poking a scorpion's nest?"
"It's a hornets' nest."
"I don't care what kind of nest it is, don't you dare go after that. I will seriously throw up if I see that again."
"Well, that's a way to kill the mood."
"The mood to kill stuff. You are so being a jerk right now," Camie said.
"You're the one who said I disgust you."
"I never said that," Camie said. "It should bother me more, but you're just so dang cool when you're ready for fight."
"Stop." Bakugo went back to being embarrassed real fast.
"Ha!" Camie said. "I so win."
"No, you don't."
"Oh, just shut up." Camie kissed him. "There, happy now?"
Bakugo turned bright red again, but then he tensed suddenly. "Did you hear that?"
"I didn't hear anything--" Camie started to say too loudly.
Bakugo covered her mouth with one hand real fast. Then he yanked her into the shadow of one of the rock pillars.
Camie pushed his hand away. "You're all sweaty... Isn't it just our team?"
"Our team would have just called for us," Bakgu said. "Didn't one of the Hyuga chicks say they saw someone else out here?"
"I bet it's just Stone Village shinobi then."
"Shh," Bakugo shushed her.
They both went quiet.
A few silent minutes went by, and then they saw a figure in drab colors that matched the earthen tones around them running along the top of one of the large ridges and then down the other side.
They didn't appear to see either of the kids. The shadow of the rock hid them pretty well, and luckily Bakugo and Camie usually wore dark colors or at least solid ones, so they blended in.
Neither of them dared to speak for a while. But no one else followed that person.
"Who was that?" Camie wondered.
"It didn't look like a shinobi," Bakugo said. "I didn't see a headband."
"Maybe it was a bandit," Camie said. "But it was just one of them."
"Where there's one, there's more," Bakugo said.
"We'd better find the group now," Camie murmured.
* * *
"Shouldn't they have been back by now?" Kankuro asked.
"I bet they're making out," Suigetsu said. "Couples are so disgusting."
"Bakugo wouldn't do that," Momo said. "Not when it's not safe."
"Camie would though," Dabi said. "Hey, are we sure she's a good influence on him? She's kind of a rule breaker."
"I actually never said that making out was against the rules." Shine leaned on a pillar.
"Not our rules, the high school's," Dabi said.
"A lot of dumb things are against the rules in high school. Like hats," Wally said.
"Shiketsu High's rule is to wear hats." Momo was confused.
"In America it's against the rules," Shine said.
"What a stupid rule." Dabi said.
[For the record, I think it's against the rules in Japan too. Shiketsu high is an exception--and it's fictional.]
"Dabi, didn't you go to some special school when you were younger?" Wally said. "For gifted kids?"
"Yeah...kind of. So?" Dabi said.
"So are you actually like...a genius?" Wally asked.
"No," Dabi said.
"But you do have above average intelligence," Shien said. "Endeavor mentioned that to me. They tested him."
"Dabi does?" Shikamaru said.
"Don't sound so surprised," Dabi said. [One source said 110 or 3/5. So he's above average definitely, but not a super genius like Momo. I think we all knew he was one of the smart villains however.]
"How high above average?" Temari asked.
"Not that far above," Dabi said. "Who cares? Being smart only make people expect more of you like they know what you want out of life."
"That is true," Shikamaru admitted.
"Well, I have an average IQ and I'm doing great," Wally said. "Really, you just need to do your job well, doesn't matter if you're super smart or not as long as you can do it. Being smart just makes things go faster. Though I'd like to think I'm fast thinking."
"No, you aren't," Tenten said.
"Actually it depends," Shine said. "If you account for how fast his reflexes are, then that part of his brain is certainly fast. Then if you account for how his focus has to keep up with his speed when most of us can't process what happens in less time than we can blink, then his processing is also fast. If we consider his perception abilities in that way, then that makes them exponentially greater than the average person because of how fast he has to do things, even simple things. At that speed, a complex solution is easier to mess up, so it may just be smarter to do things as simply as possible. That ranks him with higher common sense even if it's less what we'd call analytical skills. He may not be a detective like Batman or strategist like me, Shika, or Momo, but that's far from being stupid. A stupid person couldn't actually use Wally's power effectively at all."
Wally looked really into her after she said that.
"That's a good break down," Momo commended her. "I think the same way. It might seem simple to us at normal speed, but if you have to triple or even multiply it by 100 if he's fast enough, then most of us would be stupid if we had to act that quickly. I know I hesitate more at times like that. A second's hesitation can be too much in life or death battles. You have to appreciate how smart Wally has to be to make good decisions on the spot."
Wally rubbed his head. "You two will make me blush. I just think you see what you need to do and you do it."
"That's basically the same thing they just said," Dabi said. "Only you made it sound dumber."
"I think simple sounds more profound," Shien said. "Many brilliant men have thought that the less words you need to make your point, the smarter you are."
"Someone should tell that to Midoriya," Shoto said. "I can't follow half of what he says."
"He thinks too much," Shine said. "Overthinking is not actually a sign of intelligence. It's a sign of anxiety or obsessiveness. That can make you less smart. I miss the most details when I overthink."
"True," Momo agreed. "I think Shoto and I work so well together because he can attack quickly while I come up with a plan to finish the fight. We learned that the first time we teamed up with just each other. But I feel I should be better at fast-paced attacks too. Can't always rely on the same person being around to save me."
"And I should plan more," Shoto said. "But I think that I've learned more from her doing it."
"Wow," Temari said. "That's...actually kind of nice, admitting that you can learn from your girlfriend." [I feel like in both this chapter and the last one she should have a sign to hit Shikamaru with that says "GET IT?"]
"That was before we were dating," Shoto said.
"Heck, I'd say the same thing," Wally said. "Shine's really taught me to think of things I didn't before. I'm still a fast guy, obviously, but I can not be as reckless snow."
"And in turn I think I've learned to make things happen fast with your help," Shine said. "I used to take a lot more time to deliberate about decisions for the job. It wasn't always a good thing."
"Um, excuse me," Hinata spoke, "but I think Bakugo and Camie may have run into someone else out there... I can't see their chakra like I can with you, but I can see their outlines sometimes...but all the rocks make it hard. I know I just saw someone else though."
"Stone Village?" Wally guessed.
"I don't know--they moved lightly--but I don't know if it was a ninja," Hinata said. "Everyone looks the same in chakra form unless you really know their chakra well."
"I do smell something different," Karin spoke up. "It was faint, but someone else is near. Bakugo and Camie aren't that far off...but it's harder to track them for me too. All of you have a different scent than us, but it's also not as strong even when it's close."
"That's fairly normal for us," Shine said, which Shoto, Momo, and Dabi thought sounded bizarre.
"What do we smell like to you?" Momo asked.
"I hope it's not because we haven't showered in days..." Shoto looked at her in alarm.
"All of us smell like that," Suigetsu said.
"Some more than others." Karin wrinkled her nose. "But I don't really smell that kind of thing. Energy is different... I don't know, it's like this wild scent. It's kind of faint when you're not right by me, but then it's overpowering when you are, sometimes. It seems to get stronger at certain moments...like when Likstar's eyes glow."
"Ah, I know what it is then," Shine said. "Interesting. I think you mentioned it before. I thought it was that. You guys remember that passage about the sweet aroma? And the scent of life? or decay? Karin can just literally smell it, I guess."
"I hope we don't smell rotten then," Momo said.
"No, the smell of decay is more dark chakra," Karin said. "Like Sa--" She stopped short.
But everyone knew what she'd been about to say, and Sasuke himself looked away purposely.
"I'm going to get them," Shine said. "Was the other person coming close to them?"
"It's moving away now," Hinata said. "So maybe not."
"Could they get kidnapped twice in one month?" Dabi asked.
"Shh!" Momo said. "Don't say that."
"Come on," Shine addressed them all. "Let's just go together. And no one else better leave the group now."
They followed her.
But they found Bakugo and Camie easily, to their relief. They were still hiding.
Bakugo explained halfway through Shine's scolding him that they had been going to come back before they saw the stranger, but hadn't wanted to expose themselves after that.
Shine left off scolding them about that but said they shouldn't have run off at all.
They apologized, sullenly on Bakugo's part.
But the sensory ninja didn't see or smell anyone else coming toward them, and after a hour or so had passed, they decided that the person had not noticed them and had not been looking for a fight.
But after the Mist incident, they weren't quite as sure as before and stuck close to her.
This meant they'd have to pick their way through the spires instead of running over them, but no one said anything about it now that they were worried.
Since it was slow to go around the spires, they didn't reach Stone Village that day, but Hanabi finally spotted it with her Byakugan towards the end of the day. Actually lower light made it easier from her to see, since the heat from the sun could make chakra even harder to read clearly over a long distance.
She was proud of herself for doing something, even if it was a simple thing.
"So we should be there tomorrow," she said cheerfully.
"Which means maybe we should talk about what to do," Gaara said. "I've been thinking about the approach we took in Mist Village, and I like that we explained ourselves so directly to Lady Mei. I would prefer to do that with Lord Onoki also."
"But remember that not everyone is the same," Shine cautioned him. "Lord Onoki is not the same person as Mei at all. What is your read on him? You've met him more than I have."
"I think he's sincere about wanting to help his people," Gaara said. "And he had said the way we do things is not right."
"That's encouraging," Shine said.
"Lord Ay of Cloud has never said that," Temari said. "I still worry about that Village, but no point thinking about it if we don't even know if they'll allow us to visit yet."
"Well, it sounds like we should just tell him then," Wally said, laying down on his knapsack in order to get more comfortable.
"Does that really mean that?" Shine said. "See, when Mei said she wanted things to change, she had a clear cut idea of what that meant. She wanted there to be no more bloodshed and betrayal of your friends and family. She wanted there to be more mercy. She repented of the sins of the past. And she's gotten that, after the rest of it. Which is wonderful and makes me happy. But did Lord Onoki ever specify that to you?"
"Not in so many words, but that we've been wrong," Gaara said.
"I have heard many people say they've been wrong," Shine said. "Only half of them ever mean they intend to change, if that many."
"That is...surprisingly cynical from you," Kankuro said, between bites of their trail food supper (everyone was sick of travel food too and hoped that Stone would have a good restaurant to go to).
"But it's honest," Shine said. "Stone Village is known for screwing over its allies, isn't it?"
"Yes," Gaara said. "But what Village is not?"
"But Stone is especially is known for that?" Shine said.
"Yes, they are," Temari said. "But that doesn't mean that Onoki is not sincere."
"Well, what do you think of him?" Shine applied to her.
Temari had had ample time to observe in the part of the war where they had to fight on the same battlefield, but no one ever asked her what she thought of people.
She was flattered and tried to think clearly about her answer.
"I think he means to protect his people," she said. "He's a little crotchety at times, but he's a brave fighter and a powerful one. He wouldn't abandon his allies in a fight...but if he's quick to change his mind? I don't know. He accepted Gaara, though at first he was the one who the least took him seriously and was kind of condescending to us all. But they became friends later."
Gaara nodded to this.
"But as far as what you believe in is concerned," Temari shrugged. "I don't know. It's one thing to admit that we've done wrong things by betraying each other, but that's not so far out of the realm of shinobi's ways. Your way is too different from ours to be just as simple as that. Everyone had an idea of what's right and wrong, even if they don't call it that. But that doesn't mean they think they need to throw out the whole tradition of the villages in order to do what's right."
"We don't say that every single one of your traditions is wrong," Shine said. "We don't know enough about them to be sure. But unfortunately the ones we've had conflict with are the ones that are holding you back. That's only natural when dealing with world level matters like this."
"So we don't know," Momo said. "That's the sum total of what you're saying."
"I feel that Lord Onoki must sincerely want to change things," Gaara said, "if he's allowing us to do this."
"You're not one to have rose-colored glasses on," Shine said. "So I'd like to think you're correct. I met him once myself and have seen little of him even in research, but he strikes me not as particularly wise, nor was he perhaps uncommonly foolish. Not entirely arrogant, but not extremely humble. Because he's someone who seems to be in the middle of the scale, I think this could go either way, so we must act very carefully. Any mistake in Stone Village will reaffirm Onoki's way of thinking that you're too young for this. He let it go in the war because you proved yourself, but immaturity can assert itself at any time, and while that's just as true of adults, we very rarely admit it." She smirked. "The older I get the less I want to take any lip from younger people too. Which is fine...if they are brats. But what if they are right?"
"I think you listen to us," Sthoo said. "You never spoke to us like Onoki did to Gaara."
"No, but one of these days I might do it," Shine sighed. "The point is, it's not right, but it's very common. Unfortunately for us, young people who want to make changes have to prove themselves more than their leaders do. But we can't help our age, and even the oldest of us here is not older than 31."
Wally nodded.
"I forgot how much older you are," Camie said.
"Hey, I'm still young," Wally said. "I've aged wonderfully."
"If it's any consolation," Dabi said, "a guy with your job is not likely to die of old age anyway."
"Thanks..." Wally said, not very sincerely.
"You really think our age will make that much different?" Temari was skeptical.
"If Onoki would have the face to insult Gaara for his age at a political negotiation meeting where taking offense would be the last thing you'd want someone to do, then I'd say it can be a factor," Shine said. "Also all of you need to try to make a good shinobi, and I do include some of your rogue shinobi in that. Mist Village was easy because Mei is a very gracious person, but don't get cocky. No sassing the Tsuchikage either."
"But Shine, you sass peeps all the time," Camie said.
"I'll try to control myself in this case," Shine said. "But Onoki just strikes me as not the same kind of humor. Though apparently he appreciates a good comeback." With a wink at Gaara.
"The Comeback Kid could be Gaara's autobiography for more reasons than one," Dabi said.
"If Shine says she'll try to curb herself, it's serious," Wally said. "She's sassed scarier people than Onoki. But we're not trying to scare the guy, that's the point."
"I see your point then," Gaara said. "And wasn't planning to be disrespectful anyway. But I hope everyone else is understanding you."
Suigetsu, Sasuke, and Dabi were the chief players this was directed as besides Bakugo, and they all were silent.
"So do you think I should just go ahead and tell him right away?" Gaara asked.
"By my counsel," Shine said in her old fashioned tone she adopted at serious moments, "I think at least give it a few days like with Mei. He's going to have to get used to the idea of this peace mission to begin with."
"But we do get to introduce ourselves as Team Zoe this time, right?" Camie said hopefully. "That would be so baller."
"Who says baller anymore?" Dabi said.
"Who says your face?" Camie said.
"That doesn't even make any sense," Dabi said.
Camie pulled the tongue out and eyelid-down meme face at him 😜. [Which is something all the most annoying anime girls do. I think it must be evil in Japan or something. The emoji seems pretty innocent though.]
The meeting ended abruptly after that.
"At least there won't be anything I can fall off of in Stone Village," Ino commented, since she was still embarrassed about her mishaps along the road to this point.
"Girl, in all the rom coms, falling is quirky and cute," Camie said. "Just own it."
"Oh, sure." Ino shook her head.
"I can't wait to take a bath," Sakura sighed. "I hope there's a lodging for us. What if they ask us to just camp outside?"
"The horror." Dabi gestured around. "Once you've lived in the gutter, this is nothing. Nice clean dirt, doesn't smell like excrement."
"Stop!" Sakura said.
"I would have to commend you for how clean all your villages are," Momo said. "It's not the same in many parts of the world, I hear."
"What? Did you think we were that backwards?" Tenten said.
"Oh, you're just not that tech savvy," Camie said.
"Oh, no, I grew up near LA. Trust me, tech savvy does not mean clean streets," Shine said.
"I suppose you'll have to be on you best behavior," Shoto said to Bakugo, since neither of them were interested in this small talk.
"Shut up," Bakugo said.
Shoto did like to riff on him from time to time.
"As long as you don't talk, you'll be fine," he said. "Just like Camie always says."
"Shut up about that," Bakugo said.
"What were you doing earlier by the way?" Shoto said. "Running off like that was dangerous."
Bakugo looked a little flustered. "Nothing."
"Nothing means something, I think," Suigetsu said. "And I saw all of you giving me looks earlier. When have I ever messed up a diplomatic negotiation?"
"When have you ever been part of one?" Shoto asked him flatly.
"Hmm, you're the one getting into fights with Uchiha all the time," Suigetsu said. "Not that I blame you, He's pretty annoying."
He didn't seem to care that Sasuke was close enough to hear that.
"I actually am concerned about him ruining this," Shoto said. "I don't think Shine should have asked us all to be on our best behavior with him listening. He'll probably try to throw it on purpose now."
"Do you really think he's that stupid?" Bakugo scoffed. "He might be a prick in private to us, but he won't risk his neck for no reason."
"Nothing would probably happen to him. He might want to get us in trouble, though," Shoto said.
"So just freeze him like you were going to do before," Suigetsu said. "Problem solved. If you hate him so much, Todoroki, why don't you just end him yourself? Who cares what Likstar-san tells you?"
"Why would you say that?" Shoto said. "He used to be your teammate."
"I never liked him that much," Suigetsu said. "Sure, he's stronger than me, so I couldn't say no, but I really never was that jazzed about his stupid quest. And he ditched us later. Sasuke was never our friend--or our comrade."
"So why didn't you drown him?" Bakugo asked.
"I couldn't," Suigetsu said. "Sasuke creeps me out with the Sharingan. But you two don't have to fear it. Who cares what Likstar tells you? You could waste him yourselves. Make it a team effort. But you haven't. Is it really just out of deference to her wishes?"
"Hers, Wally's, and Gaara's," Shoto said. "But it also goes against our principles. Heroes don't kill people."
"That's a stupid rule," Suigetsu said. "What if you need to?"
"I've never needed to," Shoto said. "Even Stain."
"Stain, you should have," Bakugo said, "if it wasn't illegal. He's a nut case. Could have killed you all if you left him alone."
"He nearly did, but it's still illegal," Shoto said.
"So the bad guys can kill you but you can't kill them? Smart," Suigetsu said. "They can just keep coming back for more. Didn't you want Orochimaru to die?"
"Yes...it's the job of the law to determine that, not heroes," Shoto said. "We're not the judges."
"Sasuke is dang lucky that he pissed you off and not someone else," Suigetsu remarked. "If you were anyone else in the world, he'd be so dead."
"Then maybe he is lucky," Shoto said. "Wouldn't be the first time he's been let off with better than he deserves. Doesn't mean I have to like him. Shine and Wally are so much more tolerant--I just don't understand it."
"You've always been a little judgmental," Bakugo observed flatly. "Aren't you and that prick kind of alike anyway?"
"How so?" Shoto said in a warning tone.
"You both think you're better than other people," Bakugo shrugged. "You both like to ignore others and do things alone. You both don't like your crappy families. You both have a brother who was a real nutjob at one point. And you both never change your minds about people."
"I do change my mind about people," Shoto argued. "I changed my mind about Dabi... At least, I think he's trying now. And I do not think I'm better than other people."
"No, that one tracks," Suigetsu said. "Not that you don't have a dorky side... You're easily the most powerful person in the group in terms of endurance and attacks. At least of you younger heroes."
"Shut up!" Bakugo said.
"Bakugo and I are pretty evenly matched," Shoto allowed. "And Momo has more range than either of us. Camie would probably just turn us against each other before she'd physically fight us, but I no longer really think it matters that much who's the stronger. We each have different skills."
"Hey, we should all have a fight sometime." Suigetsu wasn't listening to the last part. "Just to see."
"Any day," Bakugo agreed.
"I do worry we're getting rusty," Shoto admitted. "Of course all this walking has been too much exercise to really get weak... I think I've lost weight...and I didn't have that much to lose. Wally told us that we wouldn't lose any skill, but I'm just not sure. How could it not feel like weeks and weeks for us when we go back?"
"As long as you swear not to boil me, I'm game," Suigetsu said. "We could have an epic sparring session. I think I'm getting rusty too. This 'no fighting' policy of yours sucks."
"You're just salty that you hardly did anything during the island attack," Bakugo said.
That was partially true.
Sasuke was forgotten about as a topic while they started to discuss strategy.
But he hadn't missed any of that, and he sulked to himself about it, but no one noticed.
