Ch. 8

"Listen, I'm going with your father. You know the rules," I told Orion.

He nodded. I left and transformed as soon as I was outside.

Now where could he have gone? I thought as I drove around.

Let's see, there's the spot where we got Orion. Maybe I should try there first.

I drove as fast as I could, but when I got there, he was nowhere in sight.

Scrap. Alright, well I could try the place where Star and I landed when we first arrived on Earth.

Once again, I drove as fast as I could. As I approached the spot, I saw him. I slowed down and transformed. He was crying. I walked in front of him and put my arms around his neck. I didn't say anything, I just wanted to let him know that I was there for him. Optimus leaned down and hugged me as he cried.

"I couldn't do it. I couldn't help her. Blue, I wasn't able to save her! I couldn't save my sister!" he cried as he sank to his knees, still hugging me.

I knelt down with him.

"I couldn't even keep my promise," he added as he cried harder.

"Listen to me, Optimus. First of all, it wasn't your  fault. Now I don't know much about Primes but I do know that the world doesn't rest on your shoulders. StarCatcher once told me the same thing," I said, waiting a minute before I continued.

A few tears were now running down my face, but I forced myself to stay strong for my sparkmate.

"Second, there are some promises that are impossible to keep. The thing is, Star is family, so I know for a fact that she is perfectly okay with you crying. I know everyone probably sees you as a strong, unbreakable leader, but I know you like the others don't and I'm willing to bet that Star knows you even more so than me," I paused and sighed.

"Look, I love you very much. I wish you would've talked to me sooner. I don't want you to feel like it's your fault. If it's anyone's fault, it's mine and mine alone. I won't be mad at you if you blame me. It's a burden I'm willing to accept," I said calmly, even though tears still ran down from my optics.

"Thank you for being here. I won't blame you for something that was no one's fault. I know she died because of her stress, but we- I still should have seen it coming. I should have made her stay back," he said, releasing the hug and wiping my tears but he still had tears falling down his face.

"The world doesn't fall on your shoulders either, beautiful," he added.

I gave a small smile. I remembered something that made me chuckle.

"What is it?" he asked with a small smile.

"You know you couldn't have made Star stay back. She's a very stubborn bot, so she would find a way to join us, no matter what," I replied, remembering a time when Star had saved my life.

If it wasn't for her stubbornness, I probably wouldn't be alive.

"Heh, yeah you're right. There was this one time, when we were kids. Megatronus told her to stay at the house while the two of us went to investigate a sound. She was so stubborn that she snuck out back and scared us to prove a point," he chuckled as he moved to sit normally.

I laughed and wrapped him in a hug. A flapping sound could be heard the distance. I turned and looked behind me, terrified yet excited at the same time. As the flyer came closer, I realized that it wasn't what I thought. It was a dragon. Predaking, to be exact.

Scrap! This guy again? I thought as I jumped up and quickly took my weapons out.

The giant dragon beast landed in front of us and...transformed.

"I wasn't expecting that. I didn't think Predacons could transform," I said.

"I guess he got an upgrade," Optimus said.

"Yeah well he's about to get a downgrade," I said, ready to fight.

"Leave now and we'll let you escape with your dignity," I told the Predacon.

"Ha, like that'll happen," a red toad said as he hopped out of the bushes.

He was followed by a squirrel and a skunk.

Well scrap. Like one Predacon wasn't enough.

Predaking transformed back into beast mode.

"Let's dance," I said as the dragon charged up his fire attack.

Optimus and I dodged the attack. The three Predacons stood in our way, so we attacked them. My sparkmate managed to hit Predaking hard, but the dragon shot fire towards us. Unfortunately I had somehow ended up behind Optimus, so he took the worst of the flames.

No! I thought worriedly, but I was relieved somewhat when I saw him headbutt Predaking, only to get hit with more fire.

"Go! Get help! Find the others! Stay with Orion!" he called as he was thrown up into the air.

Oh scrap no! I am not leaving you!

"Autobots, emergency! Predacon attack at my location. Bumblebee, stay with the kids. Optimus and I need the rest of you here asap," I said over the com.

Not including my sparkmate, I trusted my brother more than anyone else currently on the team with the kids.

"On our way," Mirage replied.
"Understood, just be safe, okay, sis?" Bee said.

Normally I would reply with a sarcastic remark, but I didn't.

"I will," I replied.

I saw Optimus fly through the air and land hard on his back. Predaking pinned him down. He was about to attack again with his fire breath.

"Hey bucketbreath! Get away from him!" I yelled as I jumped and stabbed one of my swords into his neck.

"Take that you prehistoric piece of scrap!" I said as I swung myself onto him and stabbed my other sword through the other side of his neck.

I saw a green portal appear behind Optimus and the others run out. Ratchet immediately went to him and started fixing him up. Predaking grabbed me off of his neck and held me so I couldn't escape his grasp.

Ah scrap.

The dragon beast flew up, still holding onto me. I tried to wiggle my way free, but his grip was too strong. He started to fly away, probably back to the Con base.

Hm. Well, if he's capturing me, then I might as well try to find out more info about the Cons plans.

"What do you want with me?" I asked.

"We have a few...assets that refuse to cooperate with us. We know that they know you, so your main purpose is motivation. However, we may find other uses for you, too," Predaking replied.

I was silent the rest of the way to the Decepticon warship. When we got there, Starscream and Knockout greeted us.

"Well, well. We meet again, beautiful," Starscream said with a smirk.

"When I get free, I'm going to kick your tailpipe all the way back to Cybertron, you bumperhead!" I yelled angrily.

"She is a feisty one," Knockout commented.

"And I'm going to pound you into asphalt, jackaft!" I yelled at the Con doc.

"Eeesh. Throw her in a cell to cool down," Knockout instructed.

Predaking nodded and transformed, then carried me down the halls to a cell.

"Don't think I'm gonna let you walk away, you prehistoric piece of scrap!" I threatened the dragon beast as he threw me in a cell.

"Please. You don't scare me," he replied proudly as he closed the door and walked away.

I have to find a way out of here, but who were the assets he was talking about?

After a while, Knockout and Breakdown came in. Breakdown put stasis-cuffs on me, then they led me to their lab and strapped me to the table.

"Would you like to tell us where your base is located?" Knockout asked as he organized some tools.

"What do you think, rust brain?" I replied.

"Figures. Well, if you don't want to tell us, then I guess we'll just have to force you to," he said as he picked up a syringe filled with a purple liquid.

"Dark energon," I said in surprise.

"Yep. You do know what it can do to Cybertronians, right?" Breakdown asked.

"It can turn anyone corrupt and make them go insane," I replied.

"Correct. So far, there's no known cure...other than destruction," Knockout said with a smirk as he walked over to me.

Well scrap, I thought worriedly.

"I'm never going to tell you anything. Even if you inject me with Dark Energon, you'll only bring chaos upon yourself. After all, I am in your ship," I said.

"That's where you're wrong. We can cage you like a monster then let you loose on your friends and family," Breakdown mentioned.

I can't tell them anything, but I can't risk hurting my family. What do I do?

"You still refuse?" Knockout said.
I only glared at him.

"Very well. Your loss," he said as he injected me with the dark energon.

I felt a surge of power as something tried to take control of me. In a matter of astroseconds, I felt like I was trapped in my own mind as I somehow managed to break free. I attacked Breakdown, but not voluntarily.

Must...fight this, I thought.

I managed to stop attacking and fell to my knees.

I can't let them win. I can't let them use me to hurt my family.

My head hurt, but I kept fighting. After a minute, I felt back to normal. I sighed and relaxed a bit.

"You lose, bumper heads," I said as I got out my weapons.

"Impossible. No one has ever been able to resist dark energon," Knockout said, shocked.

"Until now," I replied as I attacked him.

He fought back and managed to stab me in the chest, barely missing my spark. I stumbled back and put my arm across my chest. Breakdown saw an opportunity and shot my thigh. I dropped my sword and fell to my knees.

Scrap, I have to get out of here, I thought.

I reached for my sword, but Knockout kicked it away.

"Ah ah ah. We have you under control now," he said with a smirk as Breakdown picked me up.

"Take her back to the cell," he added.

Breakdown nodded and put stasis-cuffs on me again before dragging me away. I sat in the cell, every little movement hurt, but I couldn't let them win. I had to figure out a plan. Suddenly, I heard Starscream shouting nearby.

"You can't hide from me, Earth germs!" he said.

Earth germs...humans! They must be the assets Predaking mentioned!

I tried to stand up, but failed miserably.

Scrap, I thought.

I saw the two humans run past. When they came back, I realized who they were: Jane and Natalie! My red-haired friend came into the cell.

"Nat, Jane...you need to hide," I said.

"Oh scrap no! We need to get you out of here, but how?" Natalie replied.

"I know you're near!" came Starscream's voice.

"Quick...get behind me," I said, not wanting them to get caught.

They hid behind me just as the Con commander walked by. He stopped and smirked. I glared at him, then he walked off.

"We could always steal a mini ship," Natalie suggested after he was gone.

"And how would we get her out of this cell? Besides have either of you tried to at least contact Optimus or the base? I mean, I am sure Star would be in the lab still," Jane said.

"Actually...Star...died," I replied sadly.

"What?! No, Star would never allow herself to...no. I refuse to believe that Star is gone. Just, can you try to contact Optimus?" Jane asked.

"Negative. The Cons must be...blocking out signals," I replied.

"Huhhh, okay. We need to find a way to get off of this ship. First we would need a map, but that is in the main console room and with all of us being captives that would not be the easiest thing in the universe," Jane said.

That was when I heard Starscream coming again. The humans ran behind me. I noticed that he had captured Optimus! He threw him in a cell next to me. After he locked the cell and walked off, Optimus rammed the door, managing to break it down. He deactivated my door and came up to me.

"Hey there, beautiful," he said as he carefully picked me up.

I gave him a small smile. He let our human friends hop on too, then started walking out. I felt much better now that I was with him, but I worried about how he would be able to fight.

"I can...walk," I said.

"No, you can't walk. Besides we aren't walking out of here," Optimus replied.

He jumped off of the ship and activated his jetpack. He flew to a clearing and commed Ratchet.
