Chapter 2

*time skip to morning brought to you by flux clouds*

When I woke up the next day, I saw that Optimus was still asleep. I smiled and got out of bed. I went to check on Orion and saw that he was awake.

"Hey my little Prime," I greeted as I walked in.

"Mommy!" he said happily as he jumped out of bed and ran up to me.

I picked him up and wrapped him in a hug.

"Do you want to wake daddy up?" I asked him with a smirk.

"Yeah!" he replied with a smile.

I chuckled before carrying him back to our room. I gently set him on the bed and watched as he jumped onto Optimus.

"Daddy! Daddy!" he said cheerfully.

Optimus smiled a little as he sat up and started tickling Orion. They laughed for a bit before they stopped. He looked at our son then at me.

Oh no. What are they planning?

My sparkmate smirked and my son smiled as they pulled me onto the bed. Orion was smiling and jumping on the bed as Optimus playfully kissed and tickled me. I laughed and fought back by tickling him whenever I could. He laughed and after a few minutes, he stopped. He leaned down and kissed me on the lips. Before I could kiss back however, Orion jumped on his back, making him fall on me. I blushed slightly as our son laughed happily. Optimus smiled and rolled his optics.

"Heh, he gets that from you," he said as he got up, holding Orion on his back.

"What are you talking about? I would never do anything like that," I replied, smiling innocently.

Optimus chuckled.
"Uh-huh, sure," he replied sarcastically.

"Good morning, beautiful. I see you are in a good mood," he greeted after.

"Morning, babe," I said with a smile as I wrapped him and Orion in a hug.

He smiled.

"I love you. What are your plans for the day?" he asked.

"I love you too. I'm probably going to-" I was cut off when Natalie called me over the com.

"Blue, come in! Decepticon attack on the Natural Wonders Museum!" she said.

"Alright, hang tight. We'll be there soon," I replied.

"That was Natalie. Looks like the Cons have taken a liking to natural wonders," I told my sparkmate.

He nodded and took Orion off of his back, setting him on the bed.

"Alright, bud stay here and behave yourself. No fighting with Remix got that?" he told our son, who nodded in reply before hugging us both.

"Let's go," Optimus said.

"Right behind you. I'll round up Hot Shot, Hound, and Crosshairs too," I told him.

"Alright, let's make this quick. I was kinda hoping to just relax at the base today," he said before leaving quickly to get ready.

I gave Orion one more kiss on his head before going to the training room. There, I found Hound and Crosshairs sparing.

Of course, that's what they're doing, I thought as I shook my head and smiled.

"Hey, guys. D-con activity downtown. You in?" I asked them, already knowing their answer.

"You bet!" Hound replied excitedly.
"Alright. You know what to do," I said.

They nodded and I walked to Hot Shot's room. His door was closed, so I knocked.

"Hey, Hot Shot. The Decepticons are attacking. Get ready," I told him.

A few seconds later, he came out.
"I'm always ready," he replied.
I just hope you don't get yourself into trouble.

I nodded before walking to the medbay to see Star and Bee.

"Hey, just a heads-up, we're going downtown to stop a Con attack," I mentioned.

"Okay," Star replied.
"Are you going to go?" she asked Bee.

"If you're not going, then I'm not going," my brother replied.

I smiled at the two before joining the others.

"Let's go kick some Decepticon bumper," I said as I transformed.

"Blue you know where it is, lead the way. And be sure to watch for humans, this is their town after all," Optimus said as they started following me to the town of Bayside.

"Right. Speaking of which, what's the plan? I mean, are we just going to reveal ourselves because the Cons don't seem to care. Or are we going to lead them away from the town first?" I asked as I pulled up to a building near the Natural Wonders Museum, but out of sight of the enemy.

"The cons don't care about the humans but we do and the better option would be to lead the cons away. It will be less destructive and safer for the humans in the area. If it does so happen that you reveal yourself, watch your step and be mindful of what you are destroying," Optimus replied after a moment.

"Got it," I said as I started to drive towards them.
"Hey! Rust buckets!" I taunted the Cons.

I got two of the five Cons to chase me out into the desert. When we were a safe distance away, I transformed and attacked. More Decepticons soon came to back the others up. One of them managed to sneak up behind me and stab my shoulder from behind. I cringed at the sudden pain before flipping my blaster upside down and shooting the Con in the torso. I turned around, pulled out the sword, and stabbed it through his head.

"That's what you get for trying to use a sneak attack on me," I said, ignoring the sharp pain in my shoulder and going back to the fight.

I took down a few more Cons before getting shot in the torso, knocking me off of my feet. Searing pain shot through my body. The D-Con towered over me and smirked. Before he could act, Hot Shot appeared and tackled him.

"Leave her alone!" I heard him say as he shot the Con in the chest.

I was once again confused for a minute. Why would he say that? Does he have a crush on me, even though he knows I'm with Optimus? I shook my head to clear my thoughts and refocus on the battle. He came over and helped me up.

"Uh, you okay?" he asked.

"Yeah, thanks," I replied, giving him a small smile before running right back into the battle.

My shoulder and torso were screaming at me to stop and rest, but I kept pushing myself, which probably wasn't a good idea in the long run. I had to, though; my family and friends needed me. I fought some more Cons for a few minutes before noticing that one was about to throw a grenade at Hot Shot. Without hesitation, I ran over and jumped in front just as it exploded. I landed on my back a few feet away. My entire body felt like it was on fire. I managed to sit up as Hot Shot came running over to me.

"Blue! Come on, I'm taking you back to base," he said as he helped me up.

"No...I'm okay," I protested.

"You're definitely not okay. I should be the one that got hit by the grenade, not you. Why did you do it?" he asked.

"Even though we may argue a lot, we're still a team and team members have to look out for each other," I replied.

I wasn't lying, but I wasn't telling the whole truth either. I didn't want to say how I felt about him until I knew what I felt towards him.

"Now I'm looking out for you. Come on," Hot Shot said.

"No way. We have a fight to win. I'm not out yet," I told him.

He sighed.

"I...don't want to lose you," he said quietly, probably not wanting me to hear.

I don't want to lose you either, but what the scrap is going on between us!?

"Hey, everything's going to be fine. Now let's go kick some Decepticon tailpipe," I said, acting like I didn't hear what he said.

"Alright," he said, finally giving in.

I smiled at him before getting back in the fight. Part of me wanted to go back, but I didn't. I knew I was probably going to regret this later, though. After a few more minutes of fighting, the Cons retreated. I let out a sigh of relief as I sat down. I cringed slightly at the pain and put my hand on my torso. I looked to my left and saw Optimus running over to me. He sat down next to me.

"Star isn't going to be happy," he mentioned.
I smiled.
"Yeah, I figured," I replied.

"Hey," Hot Shot said as he came over and sat down on the other side of me.

"See, I told you everything would be fine," I said, giving him a smile.

He smiled back. In a few minutes, everyone was back together.

"Yeah, I guess for the most part," Hot Shot said.
"This isn't our first rodeo, ya know," I told him.
He nodded slightly.

"I have to go meet Star in the city. I'll be back in a few minutes," Optimus told me as he transformed.

I nodded. A few minutes later, they came back. Immediately Star came over to me.

"So do tell me why you got in front of a grenade again?" she asked.

She mended the stab and shot wounds.
"It was meant for Hot Shot," I replied.

Suddenly my head started to hurt, so I closed my optics just for a second to keep myself from wincing.

"Got it, hey no passing out again," she told me.

I opened my optics and smiled just as Crosshairs came over.

Oh boy. This is not gonna end well.

"Hiya baby, why don't you come fix me up?" he asked with a smirk.

I wanted to slap him right there, but I knew it would have to wait.

"First off, I am clearly not a child so don't call me baby and second no you are not as hurt as some of the others and even if you were I'm sure Ratchet would love to fix you up," Star replied as she stood up.

"Alright, every bot back to base and straight to the med bay," she ordered.

"But what if I don't want to?" Crosshairs asked.
"Then I'll make you," she replied.
"I'd like to see you try, little lady," he said.
Oooo, bad move, Crosshairs, I thought with a smirk.

Star glared at him before tackling him and injecting something into his neck. She stood up, but Crosshairs didn't move.

"Wha...what did you do?" he asked worriedly.

"Nothing much, just injected you with a paralyzing energon that Ratchet and I had been working on before I got captured. There is a cure but you know with those comments you made to me I don't think I want to give it to you," she replied, crossing her arms and smirking.

Ha! Nice one, Star. That'll teach him.

"It should wear off in a few days, though," she added.

I laughed but suddenly felt light headed. Then, everything went black.
