Chapter 19
"Well then who are my real parents? Why didn't you tell me sooner? Why did you lie to me all these years?" he asked sadly.
"I-I'm sorry. I never told you because I wanted you to be happy with us, but now that you've found a new home, I thought I should tell you. All I know about your real parents is that they were Autobots. Starscream stole you before you were given to them," she replied.
"Also...you had a twin brother. Unfortunately he...died. He somehow contracted the Plague," his mom added.
"It's okay, I'm glad you told me. I just can't believe it. Isn't there a way to find out who my parents are, though?" he asked.
Star got up and sat on the edge of the table.
"I can run a CNA test," she offered as she cringed.
She managed to stand slowly and walk over to us.
"Absolutely not. I'll do it. You rest," I told her as I gently took her arm to help her back to the med table.
I was in pretty bad condition still, but she was worse off than me with TSV. She sighed.
"Thanks, Blue. You're the best," Delirium said.
I gave him a smile before turning back to Star. She was lying on the table with her mask back on.
"I just wanna help," she said before coughing a little.
"You will, but you've already helped us more times than any other bot. You deserve a good rest," I said as I slowly walked over to the cabinets.
I took a syringe and walked back over to Delirium.
"I need to take an energon sample," I mentioned.
"Ok then. Just get it over with," he said unenthusiastically.
I quickly but gently got what I needed. I then made my way back to the computers. I put the energon in a small tube before putting it in the computer. After a few minutes, the results printed out. I looked at them and was shocked.
I certainly didn't see that coming.
I looked at Delirium then at Star.
"Well...it appears that you're Star and Bee's son," I mentioned slowly.
"What!?" Star exclaimed as she sat up quickly.
I went over to her and gave her the paper as Optimus walked out, probably to go get Bee.
"I-I can't believe it," she said.
I walked over to Delirium.
"I guess you're closer to us than we imagined, nephew," I said with a smile.
"Yeah. I'm speechless right now," he replied.
"I think we all kind of are. Anyway, glad to have you with us," I told him as I patted him on the shoulder before walking over to Optimus.
My chest still hurt a lot, but I refused to let it show, especially in this semi-happy moment.
"I don't want you pushing yourself. Please rest," Optimus said quietly.
I sighed and reluctantly sat down.
"I guess I can for a little bit," I replied with a small smile.
Optimus smiled back before leaving.
"Nah, man. The Pontiac Solstice tops all others," I heard a familiar voice say.
I looked over at the entrance to see Epps and Lennox walking in with Ironhide. I couldn't help but smile.
"No way. GMC Topkicks are much more durable. I mean, just take a look at Ironhide," Lennox countered.
At that point, I just had to jump in.
"'scuse you. Camaros are the only way to go," I said, smiling.
"Oh really now? Why's that?" Epps asked.
"Speed and durability," I replied proudly.
"I have doubts about the durability part since you're always getting hurt," Ironhide pointed out.
"Dude, your chest was on fire!" I reminded him.
"That was one time!" he defended.
"You sure about that?" I joked.
When he didn't answer, we all burst into laughter. Pain shot through my chest again, making me stop laughing. I closed my optics as I waited for the pain to subside.
"Blue? You okay?" I heard Ironhide asked worriedly.
I opened my optics and managed to smile.
"Yeah," I replied.
He didn't look convinced, but he let it go. Suddenly, the alarms went off.
"Truck," I mumbled as I made my way over to the computers.
It was the D-Cons again. Optimus came in.
"Blue, please stay here. I want Bee on the field and some bot needs to stay back just in case Relay or anybot else comes," he told me.
I sighed.
"Okay, but if you guys get into trouble, I'll be there," I said.
He gave me a smile and a quick kiss before calling the others. I went over the computers so I would be ready to monitor them. I watched as Bee encountered Relay. I really, really wanted to go beat that guy up for almost killing Star, but the slight pain in my chest told me otherwise. He seemed to be handling Relay pretty well, so I turned my attention to my sparkmate. He was fighting Megatron, of course. Out of nowhere, another Autobot signal popped up. I gasped when I realized who it was.
There's no way that's him, though.
I double checked and sure enough, the life signals matched exactly. I smiled and ran out back to meet my previously dead son. My chest hurt so bad that I felt like I was going to die, though that didn't stop me. When I finally saw Orion, I realized he was a teenager. I wondered how, but decided not to ask. I was just really glad that he was back. As I ran up to him, I saw that he was holding his right arm and limping.
"M-mom," he said as I wrapped him in a gentle hug.
"Orion, I'm so glad you're alive. We've missed you so much," I told him as a few silent tears fell down my face.
"Come on, let's get you back to base so you can get fixed up," I said after a few moments.
I helped him back home and when we got there, I helped him lie down on the couch.
"Don't move. I'm going to go get somebot," I told him before going off to find Sideburn.
I found him in his room, playing video games. I smiled and shook my head.
He's still such a child.
"Hey, S.B, you have another patient," I mentioned.
He quickly put his game down and grabbed his medical kit. I led him to the main room and he quickly got to work.
"BLUE! Blue, are you here!? I need your help!" I heard Arcee call.
She had come back from the mission Optimus had sent her on. I sighed.
"He'll be okay, right Sideburn?" I asked and he nodded.
"Good. I have to leave for a second. It sounds like Arcee got in trouble. Again. Be right back," I mentioned before leaving.
"Yeah, what's up?" I asked when I found her.
She turned around.
"Oh thank the ever loving Allspark! Blue, I'm in a pretty bad area right now...I may or may not have lost Strongarm," she admitted.
"She's blue and white, right?" I asked.
"Yes and she has a bit of good, too! She looks like the police version of Wheeljack!" she replied, starting to panic.
"I think I caught a glimpse of her going to the training room. I thought it was just me, though," I mentioned.
She sighed.
"Oh thank the Allspark. I'm too young to be a mother. Thanks, Blue," she said before transforming and racing to the training room.
I smiled before walking back.
"He needs rest now. When Ratchet gets back, he can fix him up better," Sideburn said when he saw me.
"Okay. Thank you," I said, giving him a side hug.
He just smiled and nodded before walking away. I knelt down next to my son. The pain in my chest that I had been trying to push aside finally caught up with me. I grabbed Orion's hand and closed my optics.
"Mom?" I heard after a few moments.
I opened my optics and smiled.
"Are you okay?" Orion asked worriedly.
"Yes, my little Prime. I'm fine," I answered.
I didn't want to worry him.
"Is dad..." he started.
"Your father's fine. So is your sister, both your little cousins, your older cousin, your aunt and uncle, your cousin-in-law, your step brother, and your niece," I replied.
He chuckled softly.
"Wow. Sounds like you all have been busy," he said with a smile.
That was when I heard somebot crying.
"Be right back," I told Orion before standing up slowly.
I followed the sound to Quarre's room and found that it was Aurora who was crying.
"Hey, it's okay little one. Your mother will be back soon. How about we go meet your uncle?" I suggested in a soft voice.
She calmed down a little as I took her to see Orion.
"This is your new niece, Aurora," I introduced her to him.
He smiled and started to sit up.
"Easy," I said.
"I'm fine, mom," he told me.
I smiled and shook my head as I sat down next to him. I let him hold her. A little while later, the others came back. Optimus and Quarre walked over to us.
"O-Orion?" my daughter asked warily.
"In the flesh...er, metal...in the spark," he replied with a smile as he handed Aurora back to me.
"That's your sister, Quarre. She rescued you from the Decepticons when you were little," I mentioned.
Quarre was crying as she wrapped her brother in a hug.
"Ow, easy sis," he said.
"Sorry. I'm just...I can't believe you're alive," she said as she released the hug.
"Neither can I," he replied.
I gave Aurora back to her mother. That was when Vortex came up to us.
"How are you?" he asked Quarre.
"I'm fine. Just a few cuts, nothing major. This is your brother-in-law, Orion," she said.
Orion waved. I saw Bolt run under the couch. I smiled and turned around to see Cass. I reached behind the couch and carefully picked her up.
"Hey little bee. Guess who's alive," I said as I sat her on my lap so she could see Orion.
She looked at him before turning to me.
"Who's the new bot?" she asked in a whisper.
Oh yeah. She's color blind.
"Hey Cass. It's good to see you again, little cousin," Orion smiled.
"You're alive!" she exclaimed once she realized who it was.
She tried to move and give him a hug but she could only lean over and hug his arm. I smiled and set her on his lap.
"Who?" Bolt asked, poking his head out from under the couch.
"Come on out and you'll see," I told him.
He came out and looked at Orion.
"Yay! I'm keeping your stuffed T-Rex," Cass said happily.
"Okay, I don't need it anymore," my son replied.
"Who are you?" Bolt asked.
I picked him up as I stood up. Orion did too, still holding his little cousin.
"This is your older cousin, Orion," I told Bolt.
Cass smiled and nodded.
"Wait," Bolt said as he jumped out of my grip.
He got his sister's chair. Optimus smiled and gave our son a brief hug.
"I'm glad you're back," he said.
I took Cascade from him and set her in the wheelchair. Orion hugged his dad back. I then heard somebot calling my name.
Really? Again, Arcee?
I smiled and shook my head before walking over to my friend.
"What happened this time?" I asked.
She took a deep breath.
"Strongarm left the medbay she was sleeping in and walked out of the base into the nearby town and I need help looking for her like right now, so please, Blue, come help me find her before someone sees her!" Arcee replied.
I glanced around. I knew I shouldn't go and I knew Optimus wouldn't like it if I did with my injury.
"Alright, let's go. I need to get out of the base anyway," I told her.
I'm gonna regret this later. Optimus is probably gonna kill me if Star doesn't first.
