Chapter 14

Everybot else soon joined us.
"Let's roll," Optimus said as he led the way.

When we got to the ship, I saw Arcee leaning against a boulder, talking to Chromia and another new bot. I transformed and went up to them.

"Hey, guys. Welcome back," I greeted.
"Hey Blue. This is Override," Arcee introduced.

"Hi, I'm BlueStreak, but everyone calls me Blue," I said as I shook her hand.

"Nice to meet you. I brought the Cyber Planet key after learning about the Decepticons true intentions. I would also like to join you if that's okay," she said.

"Of course," I told her with a smile.

"Speaking of which," Chromia said as she went back in the ship only to come out a couple minutes later with the Cyber Planet Key.

Suddenly there was an explosion followed by the Cons.

Why am I not surprised?

I took out one of my swords and attacked StarScream.

"You'll never win this war, scrap heap!" I said.

"That's what you think, beautiful," he replied with a smirk.

I glared at him before stabbing my sword through his chest, barely missing his spark. Then, I took out my blaster and shot him in the torso, knocking him down.

"Go on...finish me. You would be...doing me a favor," StarScream said.

I wanted to kill that glitch once and for all. It took all I had not to. I sighed and put my blaster away. I turned around and left him. I looked around and saw the Cons getting away with the Cyber Planet Key! I started to run towards them, but I got tackled by another Con.

Not good!

The Con stabbed me in the torso. I winced from the pain before slicing the Con's head off. I sat up slowly as they retreated. Optimus came over to me.

"Are you okay?" he asked.
"Been better," I said with a small smile and a shrug.

"Okay, Ratchet can look over you in a minute," he said.

I slowly stood up, trying not to show any sign of pain so I wouldn't cause Optimus to worry. I took his hand in mine.

"Hey, we'll get through this, just like we always have. This time though, I don't think Ratchet should block our memories," I said as a few tears escaped my optics.

He nodded as Ratchet came over and fixed me up quickly.

"Come on, let's go home," I suggested when Ratchet finished.

He nodded and we started walking back. Optimus went straight for the training room as soon as we got back. I found Quarre and we followed him. Quarre and I talked while we watched him train.

"I'm worried about him, mom," she said.

"I know. I am, too. I was the same way one time. I felt like a failure, like I was the weakest one on the team. I trained nonstop, which resulted in me passing out. Your father told me something that I've never forgotten and I think it's his turn to be reminded," I explained.

Quarre agreed, so we stood up and walked over to him.

"Dad, we need to talk," our daughter said.
He put down and just stood.

"I know exactly what you're going through, babe. I know you don't feel like you're good enough, but you are. You've led this team, this family, through countless tough times. True strength isn't our physical ability; it's how we handle the ups and downs of the war and make them our own," I reminded him as I held his hands tightly.

He sighed and said, "I know," before looking at the ground.

"The battle could've gone better is all so I'm training. Plus, I've kinda been sloppy," he added.

"Well since you're training, do you think you could help me learn how to fight half blinded?" Quarre asked.

Optimus lifted his head and smiled.

"Of course. Do you want to try hand to hand or weapons first?" he asked.

He looked at me and smiled. I gave him a smile back, though I was still worried about him. I hoped that Quarre would be able to help him.

"Weapons!" Quarre replied excitedly.

I silently laughed before walking out. I went to the main room and saw my human friend sitting on the edge of the table, reading a book.

"Hey, Blue," Natalie greeted me as she stood up.

"Hey, Nat. What've you been up to?" I asked as I sat down on the couch.

"Not much. Hound and I just got back from a day of rock climbing," she replied as she slid down the table leg.

"I don't know what Jane's been doing. She's probably hanging around Crosshairs. My uncle has been catching up with Ironhide. My aunt and cousin have been getting to know Hot Shot," she added.

Nat climbed up the couch and sat next to me.
"Oh boy. I hope he's behaving," I said.

"Last I checked he was taking them for a ride," she mentioned.

Great. I hope he doesn't get a speeding ticket again.

"I heard about Orion. I'm sorry. I can't imagine how hard it must be for you and Optimus," Natalie said seriously after a moment of silence.

I turned to her and gave her a small half smile as a few tears ran down my face.

"Thanks," I told her.

"Blue! Could you help me with something?" I heard Ratchet ask.

"I guess I'm needed. See you later," I said as I stood up.

"Okay, see ya," Nat said.
I walked to the medbay and saw Delirium.
"What's up?" I asked.

"Apparently Megatron is not ashamed of using a Cortical Psychic Patch on his own son," Ratchet replied before turning to Delirium.

Again? Geez, is everybot going to lose their memory at some point?

"Delirium, this is BlueStreak or Blue for short. Does she look familiar at all?" he asked.

"No, she doesn't. I'm sorry," Delirium replied.

"It's fine. I just want you to try and see if you can remember anything about her. Okay?" Ratchet said.

"Okay, I'll try but I keep coming up blank. The only thing she reminds me of is a talking blueberry," Delirium said.

I smiled and rolled my optics.
"Well you're a talking rain cloud," I joked.

"Thanks, I guess. I'm really sorry I don't remember you. I'm trying but my mind is blank," he said sadly.

"Hey, don't stress over it. You'll remember when it's important," I told him, putting a hand on his shoulder and giving him a small smile.

Star and Bee then came in with a black and red sparkling. Star set the kid in her chair and he started spinning in it before watching Poko the Cybermouse. She turned to us.

"What happened?" she asked.
"Delirium lost his memory," Ratchet replied.
She sighed and started fixing the sparkling's leg.

"Bee, can you go check on Cascade and make sure she's still in bed?" Star asked.

He nodded and left as I walked over to Star.
"Who's the new kid?" I asked.

"This is Bolt. I met him last time we got captured," she replied.

He turned to us and stared at me before smiling.

"You look like you could kick asphalt too!" he exclaimed.

I smiled at him and laughed to myself.
"You bet I can, kiddo," I told him, rubbing his head.
Star finished fixing him up.
"There you go, Bolt," she said.
He jumped off the chair and started running around.

"Bolt, bud, come on you need to get some sleep," she said.

"Hey Bolt, wanna wrestle?" I asked him with a smile.
"Yeah!" he cheered as he ran towards me.

I smiled as I managed to hold back tears. I sidestepped out of the way. Then, I picked him up from behind and started tickling him as I sat on the ground. After a few minutes of laughing, I stood up with Bolt still in my arms.

"You ready to go to bed now, kiddo?" I asked him.
He smiled and yawned a little.

"Uh huh," he nodded.
Star came over and gently took him.

"Thank you for playing with him," she said before leaving.

I smiled and went to my room. I saw Optimus already in bed, his back facing the door. I got into bed next to him and snuggled close to him, letting him know I was there for him. He rolled over to face me. We stared into each other's optics for a moment before he broke down.

"I'm sorry, I'm so so sorry," he said.

A few tears started to run down my face, but I forced myself to stay strong.

"There's no reason for you to be sorry," I told him as I rested my head against his chest.

"I-I should have been there with you, but I wasn't. I wasn't here," he said, whispering the last part.

"It wasn't your fault. You somehow switched back to when you were Orion Pax and ran off," I mentioned.

He didn't say anything for a bit. When he did, he whispered, "I love you," and kissed my forehead.

"Try to sleep tonight," he added with a small yawn.

I yawned and said, "You too," before I closed my optics.

~Dream~
Nothing but whiteness surrounded me.
"Hello?" I called to no one in particular.

"And that's how my mom beat Starscream," I heard some bot say.

I instantly recognized the voice. Orion! I frantically looked around, but I saw nothing.

"I'm not surprised. That sounds a lot like something I would do, too. After all, she is my daughter," I heard another voice that I didn't recognize say with a chuckle.

"Why haven't you come to earth, grandpa?" Orion asked.

"It's complicated, son. See, I'm...not your average Cybertronian," he replied.

I kept listening, but after that, I didn't hear them anymore.
