Chapter 11
AN: Unlike all other chapters, this song for this chapter has nothing to do with what is going to happen. I discovered it and showed it to my friend, arrowlover1028 . I will warn you now, it's super catchy and addicting XD
"M-mommy?" he asked weakly.
"Yes, my little Prime. I'm here. Everything will be okay," I told him with tears running down my face.
"It...hurts so...much," he said.
He had cuts all over his body, neck, and face.
"I know, just hold on a little longer. You'll be okay," I told him comfortingly as I held him close.
Never again will they hurt you like this.
"T-they wanted...me to tell them...w-where we live, but I...didn't," he mentioned.
"I'm so proud of you, Orion," I said with a smile, silent tears still falling from my optics.
I looked up and saw my daughter.
"Quarre, I know you still have some good in you. Please, help us," I said.
She sighed and said, "Fine."
Then, she grabbed the keys and unlocked the cell door. I stood up and gave Orion to her.
"Please, take your little brother back to base. He'll tell you where to go. I still have to get your Aunt Star," I said.
She looked down at him and nodded. I put a hand on her shoulder and smiled before running off to the lab, since Star wasn't in the brig. I found the lab, but I found Knockout again as well. Before I could attack, though, I was surrounded by Shockwave, StarScream, Megatron, Breakdown, and Steeljaw.
"Use the Psychic Patch on both of them," Megatron ordered as Breakdown grabbed me.
Wonderful. At least Orion and Quarre are safe.
They took me into the lab and strapped me to the table next to my friend.
"Star, hey. Don't worry, we'll get out of here," I told her, though I didn't know if she heard or not.
"Let's do it at the same time. It'll be quicker," StarScream suggested.
"Why? You have someplace to be?" Breakdown asked.
"Actually I do. Since BlueStreak's here, I need to go see if that brat is still in his cell," he replied.
You're gonna regret the day you were ever built, slag brain.
After they put the patches on us, they started the machine. I struggled to keep my optics open so they wouldn't get any info from me, but the pain was too much, eventually causing me to black out.
*time skip an hour because we haven't done one in a while*
I slowly opened my optics after what felt like megacycles.
Ugh, why do I feel so sick?
I looked around and saw the room was empty except for...me? I saw myself still out cold on the table.
What the scrap? Wait an astrosecond...Star was right next to me...oh boy. Well, this is a problem.
"Star, wake up. Star," I tried calling to me, or rather my friend who was probably in my body.
Please be okay.
She opened her optics and looked around.
"Are you okay?"she asked.
"Mentally, yes. Physically-" before I could finish, I coughed.
Well now I know exactly how she feels.
"Just don't talk or take any deep breaths too often and the pain should be tolerable," she mentioned.
I gave her a small smile and a nod.
I'm actually kind of glad this happened. I bet Star really needed a break from this TSV.
Delirium ran in after a minute.
"Oh man, Blue! Star, you okay?" he asked as he ran up to us.
"Mostly, get Star first. We need to take her back to base," my friend said.
"I'm fine," I managed to say before coughing again.
"Ok then. Can you stand, Star?" Delirium asked after he unstrapped me and sat me up.
I nodded as I stood up.
Our voices must still be the same. Otherwise, he probably would've known that we switched. Maybe we should tell him...meh, let's see how this plays out first.
"Ok, then stay right here and I'll get Blue. Then we can go find Orion," Delirium said before walking over to Star.
"Can you stand, Blue?" I heard him ask.
"Yeah, I'm fine," she said.
"Good, let's get out of here. Hopefully we can find Orion without running into any surprises," he mentioned.
"Actually, Orion's back at base, safe. All we need to do is get out of here. Once we're out we can com base for a ground bridge," I said, coughing after once again.
I hope he's safe anyway.
"Stop talking," Star ordered.
"Not...until we get...back to base," I replied, starting to feel dizzy.
"B-Star shut up or so help me I will glue your mouth shut," Star warned me.
I sighed, which wasn't a good idea because a sharp pain flooded my chest, making me cringe.
"Alright. Good, then let's go," Delirium said as he walked out of the lab.
Star came over and draped my arm over her shoulders before we walked out as well.
"If we can get to the cargo bay, we're good to go. Hopefully we don't run into anyone on the way," he said.
"We just need to get outside so we can call a ground bridge. Not necessarily get a ship. So if we can just get to the escape pods then we should be good," Star mentioned.
"Ok good, we're almost there anyway. By the way Blue I'm curious how did you end up getting caught?" Delirium asked.
"Uhhh, I don't remember exactly they used a Psychic Patch so it's a bit fuzzy," Star said.
Come on, you know me better than that, I thought with a small smile.
*time skip brought to you by oblivion*
We got to the ground and Star commed base.
"Optimus, we need a ground bridge back to base," she said.
A bridge appeared and we walked through.
"I'm glad that's over," Delirium commented.
"Me too, but we still need to get to the medbay...or what's left of it," Star said.
I ran to the spare lab, hoping that Orion would be there. I relaxed when I saw that he was. Bee was also there, too. I sighed with relief, only to cringe from the pain. Ratchet noticed me and immediately starting preparing what I assumed was the medicine. I walked over to Bee and he smiled the biggest smile I had ever seen. I somehow managed to keep myself from bursting out laughing, knowing that it would hurt and they would get suspicious. He jumped off the table and wrapped me in a tight hug.
"Bee...I can't...breathe," I managed to say.
"Sorry. I'm just so glad that you're alive. What happened?" he asked after he let go.
"Um, you'll have to ask Blue," I replied as Ratchet injected the medicine into me.
That's when I realized what Bee had just said.
"Your voice is fixed!" I said excitedly.
Wow, that medicine really works wonders.
He laughed and smiled.
"Yep. Thanks to Ratchet," he replied.
I turned to the old medic and gave him a smile before walking over to Optimus and Orion.
"He'll be okay, right?" I asked.
"Yeah," he answered before turning to Star, who had come over and sat beside him.
She nodded at something he said and glanced up at me before getting up. They went to Ratchet and he pulled them aside.
I wonder what's up.
I saw Delirium and walked over to him.
"Hey, thanks for helping us escape. I know it must've been hard for you to go back there," I said.
"You're welcome. I would do anything for you guys even if it means going back on that ship," he replied.
I smiled. Suddenly, I started feeling dizzy again. I coughed up some Energon violently before blacking out.
*time skip 2 hours brought to you by Drop it like it's Spock*
I slowly opened my optics to see Bee sitting right beside me.
"Hey," I said with a small smile.
He looked over and smiled as he stood up.
"Thank the Primes you're okay," he said before kissing my forehead.
I love you as a brother, Bee, but really? Bumper, I thought.
"Get some rest. You need it," he added.
"I'm fine," I told him.
I sat up quickly, instantly regretting it. I closed my optics to try to ease the pain.
"Easy, angel," Bee said as he put his hands on my shoulders.
So that's your nickname for Star. Cute.
"Hey I need to borrow Star for a sec," Star said as she came over.
Bee, not suspecting a thing, nodded and gave me one more smile before leaving the room.
"What's up?" I asked her.
"We need to fix this and tell them," Star said as she sat down.
"Earlier Ratchet pulled Optimus and me aside, and because he thought I was you he told me something that in all honesty you should have known before I did. He said that Orion has an unusually small spark and will have episodes where his spark will give out on him. I'm sorry," she told me.
I looked over at my son who was lying unconscious on the table next to me. I closed my optics to keep myself from crying.
"Is there anything we can do for him?" I asked, opening my optics and focusing on Star, as weird as it was.
"There are some medicines that I'm sure Ratchet could tone down enough to give to him. Other than that all we can do is monitor him and watch for the signs. But the best thing that you can do right now is switch back so you can be there for him and not stuck like me," she replied.
I sighed and nodded.
"I wish there was some way I could take the TSV with me so you wouldn't have to live with it anymore. That's the only thing I'll miss. Not the disease itself, but you being free from it," I said sadly.
She smiled.
"Unfortunately that is not possible, but I will say this, if you want to help me that badly then help take care of Bee and Cascade. I know it is getting worse and I don't want things ending like the last time I died. That and I am not really capable of keeping up with Cascade like I used to," she requested.
I gave her a small smile.
"Of course I'll help," I replied.
Just then, Cascade came running in.
"Mommy!" she exclaimed happily as she jumped up on the table and crawled into my lap.
Well this is a little awkward.
I looked at Star and tried so hard not to burst out laughing.
"Hey, Cass," I greeted as I gave her a hug.
"Your mo-Aunt Blue is here as well," I mentioned.
That was close.
I gave her to Star with a smile.
"Hi Aunt Blue," little Cascade greeted as she hugged her.
"Hi Cascade," Star smiled as she hugged her daughter back.
"Aunt Blue, do you know where Tank is? I can't find him," Cass asked.
"No, but I will help you find him. Go wait outside and I'll come help," Star told her.
"Okay," Cass said before running off.
She turned to me.
"What the scrap happened to that stupid dog? And the base for that matter? I mean we come back the base is a mess and Delirium says it's Relay's fault. Now this!?" she asked.
"Yeah. We found Tank and Clank under some rubble...dead," I explained.
"How the scrap am I going to tell Cass that?" she asked.
I shrugged. Star sighed and stood.
"I'll tell Ratchet to come in the lab after I tell Cass about Tank so he can fix us," she told me and I nodded.
Before Star left, the alarms went off.
"I'm going to assume you are coming, but fair warning if you get into too many fights you won't be able to breathe again," she warned before leaving.
I got up and followed. I was still going to fight, especially after what the Decepticons did to Orion.
"Who, what, and where?" I asked when I got to the main room, even though I already had an idea.
"It's just a proximity alert in the north sector but with all that happened today it's probably much more," Optimus said as he joined us.
"Well let's go then," Star said as she went to the door and transformed.
"This fight ought to be fun," Delirium said as he transformed also.
"I'm coming with," I mentioned as I joined them.
It feels weird being an ambulance. I wonder how to transform into Star's fox mode.
We got there and saw Knockout, StarScream, Barricade, Breakdown, and Megatron. Megatron and Optimus fought as StarScream went after Star, thinking it was me. Knockout came over to me.
"Well, well. The little medic finally decided to fight," he taunted.
I just glared at him before tackling him to the ground. I remembered that Star had a dagger, so I took that out and stabbed it in Knockout's chest.
"Agh!" he exclaimed before shoving me off.
He stood up as I started coughing.
"This isn't over," he growled before retreating.
I managed to stop coughing and stand up before another Con had the chance to attack. I looked around and spotted Jazz talking with Dark Moon in the shadows. I smiled to myself before walking away.
After a few more minutes of fighting, the Cons retreated. I made my way back to the others.
"Aye, Star. I didn't know you could fight that well," Crosshairs said to me.
"Oh I can fight way better than you know. Do you want me to show you?" I asked as I got into a battle stance.
"Uh, nope. I'm good. I believe ya," he replied before walking away.
I smiled triumphantly. I looked around as I started coughing and found Star walking away from Mirage. When I managed to stop coughing, I went up to her and smiled.
"So, how'd it feel being free from this disease in a fight?" I asked.
"Good yet still painful," she replied.
I noticed she had her hand over a wound on her torso.
"How did you manage to get hurt and not me?" I asked with a chuckle.
She shrugged.
"I dunno but I'd rather not fight than get hurt every battle," she said.
"I bet that's why you became a medical officer. I would rather fight and get hurt than not fight. I believe scars help us remember that we're strong and that we can overcome anything together. Optimus once told me that true strength isn't our physical ability; it's how we handle the ups and downs of the war and make them our own," I mentioned.
"In a way I agree with all that, but I didn't become a medic just because I don't like fighting. Anyway, we should get back so we can switch before it's time for bed. If we don't get switched back before bed I am sleeping on the couch," she said.
I nodded and followed the others through the ground bridge. The base was all repaired.
"Good job, build team. I was not expecting it to be that quick," Optimus told them.
"Thank you, sir," Wedge replied.
I walked over to them.
"Hey guys. Good to see you again," I greeted.
"Good to see ya too, Star," Hightower said.
I looked at the time and saw it was 10:00pm.
I'm definitely sleeping in the spare room.
I said goodnight to everybot.
"I'm going to be up for a little longer," Bee said.
"Oh, um, I'm going to sleep in the spare room tonight," I told him.
He looked confused, but didn't try to convince me otherwise.
"Alright. I'll bring the portable breathing machine to you," he said.
I gave him a small smile.
"Thanks," I said before heading to bed.
Bee came in a few minutes later when I was almost asleep. He gently put the mask over my face.
"Sleep well, angel," he said after he kissed my forehead.
"Night, Bee," I said back, already drifting off to sleep.
