Chapter 10
Star nodded before going over to Relay and fixing him. I sat up and swung my legs over the side of the table. I didn't trust Relay from the start. I felt better knowing Optimus didn't trust him either. My sparkmate came over to me.
"Are you okay?" he asked quietly.
"Yeah. I don't trust the new guy at all. He also hurt Star. When I was walking by, I saw him forcefully dragging her out of the medbay. I told him to let her go, which he did before walking away. I made sure Star was okay, then went to the main room. You know the rest," I explained so no one else could hear.
Delirium came over as Optimus went to Star.
"Are you okay?" he asked.
I nodded in reply as I stood up.
"We need to keep a close optic on that Relay guy. If you see him doing anything suspicious, let me know," I told him quietly before walking out.
As I was walking to the training room, I heard Delirium shout, "Blue, can I talk to you real quick?"
I stopped and turned around before walking back to him.
"Of course," I replied with a smile.
"Are you sure you're okay? Relay really did a number on you and since I got here, have you told Optimus who I am?" he asked.
"Yes, I'm okay. I've been through worse. No, I haven't told him yet," I replied.
"Do you think it would be better if you told him or I told him?" he asked.
"I think you should," I replied.
"Ok then, but do you think he'll hate me for being the son of his biggest enemy?" Delirium asked.
"Of course not. You're his nephew. He'll be glad you joined us," I replied with a smile.
"Thanks, I feel better now. I'm gonna go find Optimus and tell him. See ya later," he said before walking away.
I decided to go to the training room and found Bee hugging Star.
I guess he remembered her, I thought with a smile as I turned around and went to the main room.
I found Natalie just sitting on the edge of her table, doing whatever humans do on her phone.
"Hey," I greeted.
"Oh, hey, Blue. Perfect timing," she said.
I chuckled.
"Again?" I asked, making her laugh.
"This time it's different. I've come up with a new ship name for Star and Bee. It's BeeCatcher," she said.
I started laughing and Nat burst into laughter as well.
"That's awesome. I love it," I said.
"Where are the others?" I asked after a minute.
"Jane's off doing whatever she does, my uncle and aunt are on a drive with Ironhide, my little cousin is playing with the kids, and I don't know what everyone else is doing," she replied.
"How's Bee?" Nat added after a moment.
"Well, he seems to be starting to remember everything. I still haven't told him about Hot Shot, though," I admitted as I sat on the couch.
"When the time is right, you'll know," my friend said with a smile.
I smiled back at her.
"Thanks, Nat," I told her.
She smiled and nodded. I made my way to the main room after I said goodbye to Natalie. No one was there, so I decided to go on patrol. I went to my room and found Optimus.
"Hey babe," I greeted.
"Hey, what are you up to?" he asked.
"I'm going on patrol, so I came to see if you wanted to come," I replied.
"Yeah," he smiled.
"Alright. Let's go," I said, smiling back before heading out.
We drove in peace for a bit. Of course, it didn't last long. Suddenly, there was an explosion in front of us. I turned around quickly and saw none other than StarScream. I transformed and took out my swords.
"What do you want, scrap heap?" I asked, glaring at him.
"I just want to talk," he replied.
"You do realize you shot at us. If you just want to talk, why didn't you just say so?" I asked.
StarScream just shrugged.
"Bad habit. Anyway, I want to join you," he said.
"Wait what?" I asked, not believing what he said.
"You heard me. I'm sick of the Decepticons treating me like scrap metal," he explained.
Maybe that's because you are.
"Heh. Even with Galvatron gone, they just won't give you a chance," I said before turning to Optimus.
"What do you think? We have plenty of reasons not to trust him. Then again, everybot deserves a second chance. Plus, you're the leader. It's your call," I said quietly so bit brain couldn't hear.
"I don't trust him but he could be useful. Being Megatron's second in command he knows a lot about the cons. Maybe we take him as a prisoner until we are sure of his intentions. Just make sure the kids don't get anywhere near him," he replied.
I nodded once before turning back to StarScream.
"Alright, come with us. You will be our prisoner until we can trust you," I told him.
"Fair enough," he said after a moment.
We walked back to base since we weren't very far and so we could keep an optic out for more Cons. When we got back to base, I immediately pulled the Con commander's hands behind his back and held him so he couldn't escape.
"We need Star and her stasis cuffs. Could you go find her?" I asked my sparkmate.
Optimus nodded and walked off.
"Alright, StarScream. What do you really want?" I asked him.
Before he could reply, there was an explosion that knocked us down hard. I opened my optics and saw StarScream get up before holding his hand out to help me up. I looked at him questioningly.
"What? I'm just trying to prove myself to you," he said.
I warily took his hand and stood up.
"Uh, thanks," I said.
He nodded once. Optimus found me when the smoke cleared.
"Are you hurt?" he asked.
"No, I'm okay. Let's go find the others," I replied.
I dragged StarScream with me as I followed Optimus to Orion's room. I pushed the Con commander against the wall.
"You want to prove yourself? Then stay here," I told him.
I went into my son's room.
"Hey my little Prime. It's safe now," I said gently.
He crawled out from under his bed and ran up to me. I picked him up and held him close.
"What was that? Is everyone okay?" he asked.
"We don't know yet, but daddy's okay," I replied.
Thank the Primes you're okay too.
I kept holding him as I walked out. StarScream was still there, waiting patiently as he talked with Delirium.
Huh. I guess there's more to him than meets the eye.
"What are you doing here? How did you even get here?" Delirium asked.
"I'm switching sides. BlueStreak led me here," he replied.
"Come on, follow me, StarScream. Don't try anything," I warned him.
"You can come along too, if you want Delirium," I added before checking on the other kids.
They were all fine, so I set Orion down. He ran off to go play. On my way to the medbay, I found Hot Shot.
"Thank Primus you're okay," he said as he wrapped me in a hug.
"I'm glad you're safe too," I replied, hugging him back.
"Why's he here?" Hot Shot asked after we let go, referring to StarScream.
"He wants to join us, so we're testing him," I replied.
He nodded and followed us to the medbay. Optimus was there trying to get the door open.
"Need help?" I asked.
He nodded and together we managed to break through. Dust blocked our vision, but when it finally settled, only Tank and Clank were under some rubble with their optics dark. I looked away as a tear ran down my face.
"We need to find Bee," Optimus said.
I looked up at him and nodded.
"I'm on it," I replied before leaving.
The kids are going to be devastated when they find out Tank is dead.
I found Bee trapped under some debris, but still alive.
"Bee! You're alive! Hang on, we'll get you out of there," I said.
"Optimus, I found him. He's trapped under some debris in the hall, but he's still alive," I said over the com before I started to dig him out.
"Thanks, sis," he said.
I smiled.
"You remembered?" I asked.
"Yeah. I guess getting knocked down in the blast helped," he replied.
"Alright. I am sending Ironhide and Mirage your way," Optimus replied.
A few minutes later, they came and helped me get Bee out.
"Where's Star? Is she okay?" he asked.
"Star is...currently missing," I replied sadly.
"We have to find her! She'll die if we don't!" he said worriedly.
"I know and I swear to Primus we will find her. Ironhide and Mirage will take you to Ratchet. I'll go search for Star," I told him.
He sighed and nodded sadly. I gave him a sympathetic smile before walking off. As I was about to leave the base, Cascade came running up to me.
"Aunt Blue! StarScream botnapped Orion!" she exclaimed.
I knew we shouldn't have trusted that slag brain!
"Stay here and watch after the others. I'm going after him," I told her before transforming and driving to the ship that Delirium and I took when we were rescuing Bee.
I let the ship return automatically to the Decepticon warship. When I got there, I got out and snuck around. As I walked through the hall, I ran into Knockout.
Ah scrap.
"Well what do we have here? Have you come to rescue you fellow Autobots?" he asked.
I just glared at him as I took out my swords.
"Don't you Decepti-jerks ever learn? You mess with one of us, you mess with all of us!" I said angrily.
"Don't worry. They're both fine, except for a few injuries," Knockout mentioned, unfazed.
"I will rip all your sparks out for hurting them!" I yelled as I attacked him.
I was able to jam both my swords into his torso. "Ak!" he exclaimed as he stumbled back.
Before I could attack again, he took out his sword and made a cut across both of my legs. Then, I felt somebot grab me from behind, causing me to drop my swords. Out of nowhere, Megatron walked in front of me with a smirk on his face.
No fragging way.
"BlueStreak. I was hoping you'd stop by," he said. "You died! How?" I asked, shocked.
"You should know you can never keep me down. Throw her in the same cell as the Prime child," he replied before I was dragged off.
When we got to the brig, I saw my son in the corner of the cell, unmoving. The Con pushed me into the cell and instead of trying to escape, I immediately knelt down by Orion's side and gently picked him up. He slowly opened his optics.
