Chapter 6

"GO, JENO!"

"Yangyang, we love you!"

"Mark Lee! No. 2! You can mark me in your heart!"

"Hwang Hyunjin, fighting!"

"Lee Daewon, if you don't get that in, you have to date me!"

If Yiyeon could only yell at the people around her, she would have.

Sighing, she carried her camera and went to the other side of the court, where a free throw is happening. Daewon has the ball and hearing their supporters yell those kinds of words is making him nervous.

Yiyeon had her camera positioned in front of her eye, silently praying that her friend could make the shot. "Daewon-ah, Yejin is watching..." she murmured as she took photos.

The boy jumped up and was able to shoot two consecutive throws.

"Yes, that's it, Daewon!" Yiyeon jumped up and down.

She saw Jaemin signaling her to go to his and Renjun's place, probably to check if they have good photos.

They switched cameras, and Jaemin checked Yiyeon's shots, while Yiyeon checked Jaemin's shots.

"Lee Jeno, three points!"

Yiyeon hid her smile when it was announced that Jeno made another three-point throw.

Jaemin nudged her, "Smiling because Jeno was able to score, ey?" He said and made faces.

She just chuckled, "It's not like that at all..."

The boy sighed and gave her the camera back, "I like your last two shots." He said. "Hey, I have a proposition."

"What?"

"Why don't you just join the newspaper team? Like, it's obvious that you got what it takes!" He said.

Yiyeon just shook her head as she returned his camera. Jaemin followed her, pestering her to join their club. "Yiyeon-ah!"

The girl just shrugged, "I'll think about it, Jaemin-ah." She said and walked away, walking towards the other side of the court with Renjun trailing behind her.

"Yah, if you and Jeno get back together, you should definitely join us!" Jaemin laughed, and Yiyeon just raised her hands while walking away.

"Seriously though, if I do not know better, I would think that you and Jeno are still dating," Renjun said as he continued jotting down notes about the game.

Their team was ahead by 8 points, and Jeno is the player who has scored the most.

The current score was 33-25, with 52 seconds remaining in the first half.

"I don't know what you mean, Renjun..." Yiyeon said nonchalantly and took a photo of Yangyang, who was currently defending the ball. "Yangyang, fighting!" She yelled.

Renjun threw her a look, "I mean, it's obvious that you two are still in love with each other!"

"I'm over him, Renjun," Yiyeon said with a frown on her face.

The boy just scoffed, not letting the issue go. "Why would he lend you his coat? And why would you accept it if you don't love him?"

"He lend it to me out of concern"

"Another lie," Renjun chuckled. "I know Jeno since we were kids, so believe me when I say that he still loves you." He said.

Yiyeon paid no attention because after the long sermon she got from Hyunjin last night, she swears that she won't get another earful from any of her friends again.

"Look, Yiyeon-ah..." Renjun said calmly. "That night was all a misunderstanding"

"Shut it, I don't want to talk about it," Yiyeon said, cutting him off. "I'll be checking on my brother for a while." She said, walking towards where the players were seated.

Yangyang waved his hand, "Yiyeonnie!" He smiled.

Yiyeon waved back and rushed towards them, "You're doing a great job, Yangyang!" She said and gave him a high five.

"Hey, what about me?!" Daewon said and threw his towel at Yiyeon.

The girl rolled her eyes, "Didn't you see me cheering for you over there?!" She scoffed.

"Yah, Yiyeon-ah, I think you're missing someone out," Mark said, smirking.

"What, you too? Fine, you did well, Ma—"

"No, not me!" He snorted. He then looked at the person seated on the floor while stretching his legs.

Daewon handed her an unopened water bottle. Yiyeon took a deep breath and went down the steps to go to Jeno, who was zoning out.

"Hey..." she pressed her lips into a thin line and handed him the bottle. "You're doing good, so far..." she smiled lightly.

Jeno accepted the bottle and smiled at her, "Thanks, Yiyeon..." he said and drank from it.

"I didn't know you had many fangirls." Yiyeon wanted to hit herself for saying that.

The boy chuckled, "Yeah, of course, I do. I have a lot," he said, which made the girl beside him roll her eyes. "But of course, even if there are lots of them, you're the only one I see..." he said and smiled at her.

She didn't reply and just looked down.

Jeno shifted his body to the side so that he could look at her properly.

"Always, I'll care," he sang a line from the song that Yiyeon sang at the clinic.

She raised a brow, "Were you awake that time?!"

Jeno shook his head, "Not all throughout. I woke up when you began singing..." he said and looked down. "But Yiyeon-ah... what if I tell you that I regret everything that happened that night? I should have listened to you..."

Not this again.

"Jeno-yah," she faced him. "I could tell that you want to say something, but I don't think this is the right time."

Her words cut him down like a knife.

It stings.

Her words sting.

"Not when you're in the middle of a game, and not when I'm doing my job as a photographer," Yiyeon said. "Why do you look down?! Do you want to see ugly photos of you?!"

Jeno smiled immediately.

"Alright, team! Gather up!" Their coach yelled.

Jeno stood up, pressing a quick kiss on Yiyeon's cheek.

"Aish, Lee Jeno!"

"Yiyeon-ah, I'm so nervous," Yejin held Yiyeon's hands tightly.

She was already seated on the bench as Jaemin told her to do so.

"Oh my god, Lee Daewon, I'll kick you in the gut if you fail to score..." Yejin muttered under her breath.

"JENO-YAH, WE LOVE YOU!"

Yiyeon could only roll her eyes, "He doesn't love you..." she whispered, which made Yejin laugh.

"Yah, I thought you're over him already?!" She laughed.

"I didn't say anything!" Yiyeon replied defensively.

Yejin could only scoff. Her eyes traveled to their friends who were trying to chase the two-point lead. "Liu Yangyang!!" Yejin yelled. "Yangyang, you can do it!"

Yiyeon stood up, "Hyunjin-ah, you can't go home if you lose!" She said which made people laugh. Even the commentator acknowledged what she said and announced it.

Hyunjin passed the ball to Chenle. Chenle passed it to Jeno.

Jeno ran towards the three-point area and threw the ball in the air.

"Yes! Way to go, Jeno!" Yiyeon yelled as she jumped up and down. "Go number 23!" She yelled while punching the air.

Yejin scoffed, "Yeah right you're over him."

Their team was back in the lead.

The other team has the ball, and Jeno was guarding it.

"Jeno, get it!" Yiyeon yelled.

She knows that her yells were covered by the crowd, but she's still yelling.

"Oh my god, go Yangyang!" Yiyeon jumped up and down when Yanyang stole the ball and ran towards the other side of the court, "Liu Yangyang!"

The sound of the buzzer was heard, and students from their school jumped in victory as the other players ran towards Jeno and Yangyang.

"Oh my god, Yiyeon-ah, they won!" Yejin jumped out of joy. "Daewon-ah, I'm so proud of you, oh my god..." she covered her mouth as she cried in joy.

"Idiot! Stop crying and go to Daewon already!" Yiyeon laughed and pushed her.

She watched Yejin as she went to Daewon and the others.

Her eyes then landed on Jeno who was smiling at her. He saluted at her which made her laugh.

Yiyeon could only roll her eyes.
