I started reading what she had written, it was all so shocking and heartbreaking at a certain point—but I felt relieved because I now understood what had happened. I know you said I shouldn't apologize, but I can't help it, I actually liked you, I just can't be with you. I had to stick with the plan even though I knew I was hurting someone—in this case, you. Here, I'll explain myself a bit more, or that's what I hope."

"Matthew, here's what you promised you would do, or at least I hope you did. This is something I planned out to make with you, but couldn't complete it. I hope you succeed.

How to hurt someone and make them hate you:
Step 1: Establish an acquaintance.
Step 2: Become friends.
Step 3: Talk everyday, become best friends.
Step 4: Let the person get attached, fade a bit away.
Step 5: Tell them you love them, without meaning it.
Step 6: Start attaching another person to you.
Step 7: Promise to never leave, leave.
Step 8: Fade away.
Step 9: Remember the other attached person? Make that person a priority.
Step 10: Don't talk ever again.

Complete these steps with an unknown person, it'll be easier not to fall in love with them—like I did with you.

I promised her I would stick to the plan, I don't even know why she made it, but I guess she just didn't want anyone to fall in love with me, or for me to fall in love with anyone else. I did fall in love, but I can't tell you with who, it will ruin everything. Goodbye, Elodie Martínez, I hope you can forget me."

Just like that, I folded the piece of paper and let a tear fall down my cheek.

I couldn't believe what I had done. I know I completed the plan, but I didn't want to leave Elodie just like that.

She was special, caring and really smart—that's why I liked her. But, I couldn't be with her, I just couldn't, because I didn't deserve her.

Her shining light was being overtaken by my aching darkness.

Talking about Matthew's P.O.V, did you like his letter? Or how he described Elodie?

I'm actually thinking of doing Matthew's P.O.V of this book, but I would like to have at least 250+ reads on this story to do it, so I don't know, yet.

Also, do you want me to add some Facts from the story? Like, things I was going to put and other plot twists and stuff?

I want to put an Afterword, so I will probably put some facts in there, to make it a bit more interesting.
