Two weeks later the girls were in Aunt Mary's car on the way to the dock in Southampton. Both girls were super excited to be going on a ships maiden voyage. A few minutes later the car stopped at the dock and Aunt Mary gracefully got out of the car. Then started telling people what to do with their luggage. Then Sophia got out leaving a very scared and overwhelmed Annie in the car. Sophia looked back at her sister and sighed, as she walked back to the car.
"What's wrong princess? Usually you are the first one out and ready for an adventure."
Sophia said as she tried to get her sister out of the car. Annie looked at her sister as her lip started to shake, and tears started to form in her eyes
"I'm so scared Sophia, what if I get lost, because it's such a big ship and there's so many people."
Annie said as some of the tears rolled down her cheeks. Sophia hugged her sister as told her sister that everything was going to be alright. Then both of the girls walked over to their Aunt, as they got closer they heard her giving a young man instructions on how to care for Lilly. Both girls giggled because they knew the puppy would be treated like a princess the whole trip.
A few hours later the girls were in their stateroom when they heard someone knock on their door, so Sophia walked to the door and opened it. When she did she saw a young man on the other side.
"Hello miss, I just wanted to know if you needed anything before dinner?"
He asked. Sophia thought about for a few seconds then said
"No thank you sir, but thank you for asking."
The young man nodded his head then walked to the next door. Sophia carefully closed the door and walked back to her bed.
"Who was that, was he handsome?"
Annie asked as Sophia sat down on her bed. Sophia rolled her eyes as she said
"He was a cabin boy, and for your information, yes he was cute."
Annie giggled as Sophia looked at the clock as she stood up and walked to her closest.
"We should get ready for dinner, it starts in a hour."
Sophia says as she looks at all of her dresses. Annie rolled eyes as she stood up and walked to her trunk and picked out a beautiful sky blue dress. While Sophia picked out a dark red dress. After getting dressed, the girls fixed their hair. Then they walked down the hall to their Aunt's room. Sophia knocked on the door and waited. After a few seconds their Aunt appeared.
"Girls you look absolutely beautiful, now let's head to dinner."
The girls nodded their heads as they started walking to the elevator. As they were walking the young man from earlier appeared.
"May I escort you ladies to dinner?"
He asked as he smiled at Sophia. Annie rolled her eyes as Aunt Mary excepted his offer.
"If I may ask sir, what is your name?"
Sophia asked as they got into the elevator. He smiled at Sophia as he said
"My name is Rob miss."
Sophia smiled at Rob as the the elevator arrived at their floor. The group got off then walked to the first class dining saloon. Rob bowed and then walked off to help other passengers. Sophia smiled as she watched him walk away. Annie looked at her sister and sighed
"You know after we get off of this ship you will never see him again."
Annie says as they fallowed their Aunt to a group of people. Sophia rolled her eyes as their aunt spotted them and said
"Sophia I would like you to meet Mr. Jackabee. His father was a good friend of your mother when they were in grade school."
Sophia smiled politely as her Aunt went on and on over how great this mans family was, but for the first time in her life Sophia wanted to scream and run out of the room.
