Chapter 30: You meet her

A.N.  Finally, the answers are becoming evident!  XD!

YNs' POV:

In this Realm, everything glows a ghostly, translucent green, so you figure that you must be in either the Cursed or the Departed Realm. Since the place doesn't feel evil, and all the ghosts look relatively happy, you assume that you're most likely in the Departed Realm.

"We're in the Departed Realm now, aren't we, Bansha?" Morro asks her warily.

"Yes."

I totally called it! You think, quite pleased with your powers of deduction.

"Why? Of all Realms, why here?" Morro continues. You gently place your hand on his arm, and he gives a small start, as if he had forgotten that you were there with him.

"YN, you shouldn't be here." He tells you softly. "We don't know what being in the Departed Realm could do to you. You're not a ghost."

"What are you doing here, child?" Bansha asks you irritably.

"I'm looking out for my interests." You fire back at her. In spite of himself, Morro grins at Bansha and shrugs as if to say, That's YN for you.

Bansha looks at you with distaste, but she doesn't make a move to attack you yet. "I suppose that you may as well see her, too." She tells you ungraciously.

"See whom? Who is this she that you keep talking about?"

Morro looks at Bansha with a hopeful gleam in his eyes. "You don't mean my-"

"-Yes." Bansha interrupts him. Morro is starting to get extremely excited. Giddy, even.

Bansha begins to glide away, then stops and jerks her head, indicating that you should be following her. "Do keep up, child. Who knows what will happen to you if you get left behind." She warns you, in a voice that's dripping with false concern.

"If you so much as lay a finger on me, Bansha-" You snap back at her.

"I won't need to." She answers you sweetly. You back away from her, thoroughly creeped out, and go to walk beside Morro instead.

"Morro, if you had skin, you'd be jumping out of it by now!"

"Sorry, YN. It's just... it's been a while."

A wave of jealousy sweeps over you and takes you quite by surprise. "Bansha said something earlier. About love."

"It's true. I do still love her."

"Oh. I see." You say quietly.

Morro sees your crestfallen face and seems to realize his mistake. "No YN! It's not like that!" He says quickly. "She's my-" His gaze is drawn to a lone ghost that's standing alone, her back to you. "MOMMA!!!" Morro screams wildly. His voice is high-pitched, which is completely unlike him.

The ghost turns around, allowing you to get a good look at her. She is strikingly beautiful, with long raven hair that falls gently over her slender shoulders, and warm brown eyes that are nearly identical to Morros' own. There are laugh lines around her eyes, but at the moment, all you can see in them is her total confusion as Morro runs over to her and hugs her tightly.

"Who are you?" She asks him.

"I-I'm y-your s-son." He stammers.

She looks at him in bewilderment and shakes her head. "No, it can't be. My son was barely six years of age when I-" She suddenly grabs his chin and tilts his face towards hers. She looks into his eyes, gives a loud gasp, and starts to sob. "Morro!" She tenderly brushes the hair out of his eyes and holds him, murmuring to him. "It really is you. After all this time, you've finally come back to me... My son..."

Morro squeezes his eyes shut, but that doesn't stop a single ghostly tear from rolling down his cheek. "I've missed you so much... I tried to look for you, but I couldn't get back into the Departed Realm, Momma."

Bansha floats forward. "That was my doing."

A.N. Well, I'm not normally emotional, (at all) but this did it!  Yes, there was a tear or two rolling down my cheeks when I wrote this!
