Ch. 1: Meeting Blue Eyes aka Haru-chan
Haruka Nanase x Reader X Rin Matsoka
Hi everyone! This is my first story, so give me feedback and suggestions! I appreciate constructive criticism. Just please, no hateful or rude comments. If there are grammar mistakes or any issues at all, please point it out. Even though this book will most likely not get a lot of reads, I want to make it the best as it could be! Here is a key if you're confused about anything: (y/n)= your name (l/n)= last name (a/c)= any color (f/c)=favorite color (s/c)= skin color (e/c)= eye color (h/c)= hair color (h/l)= hair length (a/n)= author's note I almost forgot to mention, Free and all its characters do not belong to me. Anyways, ON WITH THE STORY!

The harsh wind yelled against 6 year old (y/n)'s (s/c) face, leaving her usually soft pink lips chapped. She had been searching frantically for her parents, whom she got separated from in the humongous crowd of people in the mall. Her tiny feet ached from walking and getting stepped on by rushing people.
(Y/n) needed to take a small break, she walked a little more until she found an vacant space by a baring sakura tree. Her head faced down and (h/l), (h/c) locks cupped her face as she looked at her (a/c) boots and jumped over puddles out of frustration. It was odd, every time she landed on the ground, her feet felt a bit better.
She leaped over a huge puddle of water, and just her luck, tripped on a glass shard and fell down onto the wet ground. Her black jeans were coated in mud and gravel while her socks were soaked to the bone. (Y/n) shivered as another gust of wind blew.
She then proceeded to look at the glass shard. It was of considerable size, about 3 inches wide. (Y/n) could see her reflection in it. Her recently styled hair was now matted, her clothes were filthy, and her cheeks were red from the cold.
She decided to rest for a bit, her vision was starting to get fuzzy. (Y/n) walked over to an empty, metal bench and took a seat on the cold thing. She tensed up as soon as she sat down, the metal sent shivers up her spine. She then brought her knees up to her chest and wrapped her fragile arms around them, growing frightened and nervous.
The mall was going to close soon and she had yet to find her mom or dad. Tick...Tock. Time was running out for her, she would soon be abandoned and alone. She couldn't stand being alone, not again.
Despite her dire situation, (y/n) did not cry. She believed that it was a sign of weakness, and did not cry easily, even if she was only a young girl. She looked up into the cloudy, gray skies to see if precipitation was coming. Almost immediately after she raised her head, she felt something moist on her cheek.
(Y/n) wiped the sticky liquid off her face and saw that it was a bit of drool, not rain like she had expected. She looked to her right where the drop of drool came from, and saw a small golden retriever. Instead of wondering if it would hurt her, where its owner is, or whether or not it carried any diseases, she giggled softly and stroked the puppy's soft, airy fur.
The snow colored golden retriever barked softly and nudged her shoulder, signaling her to follow him. (Y/n) nodded her head happily, in a completely different mood now that she wasn't completely alone. Then, like any curious six year old, (y/n) went after him and ignored her aching feet.
The puppy weaved expertly through the sea of people with (y/n) right behind. Left, right, dodge that stroller, straight, right again, pass the kid swimming in the fountain- wait what? (Y/n) suddenly halted, questioning why a boy, only in his swim trunks, would be splashing in the mall fountain. The small puppy also noticed this, and ran back to where (y/n) was.
She walked closer and examined the boy. He had obsidian black hair, dark as her best friend's soul, and trust me, that was really dark. He also deep blue eyes, so blue that even the ocean couldn't compare. (Y/n) was mesmerized by them, they reminded her of water, which she loved so much. (Y/n) was in a trance, his eyes were deep, too deep. They looked as if they were locking up, hiding something top secret underneath, all of his emotions.
His eyes held a special treasure box and it intrigued her. (Y/n) needed to know about this boy. She continued to stare into his eyes for a long thirty seconds, she could almost see fish swimming in them. ( A/N: Haru didn't notice you staring at him. He just kept spending time with his true love, water. Just kidding, he's your true love! Maybe...you're my love! Hehe OHSHC. Senpai will never notice you.)
(Y/n) pursued what she wanted and shuffled up right up to Blue Eyes. She pointed her finger at his face.
"Mackerel."
(Y/n) mentally face palmed, she was thinking of the fish swimming and "mackerel" just came out. Blue Eyes had a hint of confusion in his face, just a hint. His cool, monotone voice echoed in her head, "What's that supposed to mean?" Before she could answer, a towering figure stood above the two kids.
( Your POV)
The towering figure cast a shadow upon you and the mysterious boy. You slowly looked up and saw a face staring right back at you. It was a young man, maybe in his early twenties. You decided he would be about 24 or 25. His features were soft, and he had a hint of surprise in his face.
"Hey, where are your parents little girl?" Them? You almost forgot about them. Almost. You got lost in those boy's eyes and just couldn't think of anything else. Uck, you wanted to go back to your mindless train of thoughts. The real world just had too many problems.
"I don't know. Do you think I would be here if I knew where they were? I can see you're not very bright. You were right fortune cookie I ate today, common sense isn't so common." You said in a voice dripping with annoyance. You didn't know where all that sasss came from, but you really couldn't care less at the moment.
The young man let out a light hearted chuckle. It lasted a good five seconds before slowly fading away. "Feisty one aren't you? I like you." You stared blankly at him. You were trying to think what your mom had told you. What was that word? Oh yes, you remember.
(Flashback *mesmerizing harp music*) You were 4 years old and your mom was educating you on the dangers of the world. You laid on your penguin beanbag chair, clenching its beak, while intently listening to her. Your eyes were full of curiosity and wonder.
"And that's about enough of drug abuse. Now onto a new subject (y/n). If anyone severely older than you says that they like you or tries to touch you," She picked up your real sized doll, "kick them where the sun don't shine!" She kicked the poor thing in the nuts. HARD. "See? Just like that. I hereby give you permission to do that. The whole "violence is never the answer" is unicorn skittle poop. These gross people are called -"
"PEDOPHILE!!!!!!!" You screamed as loudly as possible. You then proceeded to kick him but you miserably failed and ended up kicking yourself. Fudge cake! You mentally "cursed" yourself. The man's face twisted in confusion, then into a face of fright. He quickly moved his hands up and down. "No, no, no. I'm not like that! I'm just - " You cut him off. "PEDO! PLEASE SOMEONE, ANYONE HELP ME!"
By now lots of people were witnessing the scene you had caused. He tried to calm you down, "Listen. I just said that because you reminded me of someone who I deeply loved. You misunderstood me." Dang, how does this little kid know this kinda stuff anyway? he thought.
You nodded your head exaggeratedly and yelled, "NEVER MIND HE'S GOOD!" After you said that, people just continued to do whatever they were doing like nothing happened. He turned to the boy still in the fountain, the boy ignored everything happening in front of him and just kept swimming.(A/N just keep swimming!) This place is full of weird kids... He sweat dropped.
"Now that we got that out of the way. Let me introduce myself. I'm the mall's sheriff, I just moved here from Australia ." He pulled out his gold tacky badge. You looked at him. He had a black leather jacket paired with a white, worn out T-shirt, and pants looking equally tattered. "What's your name Mr. Sheriff?" You paused, "And why are you dressed like a bum?" He fell to the ground and scooted to a corner while purple lines moved around him.
"My name's Jeff." He whispered from his corner, " And I'm not dressed like a bum. It's the new style, okay?!?!" You cringed at his voice cracking. Jeff stood up, "And if anyone is looking like a bum -" He got cut off again, this time not by you. The golden retriever was gnawing on his pant leg. "Ow?" Jeff bent down and pet the little puppy. The canine let go and started to purr. Yes, purr.
There it was again, that chuckle that seemed so familiar to you. You shrugged it off. "I'm going to take you three back to my office. Your parents must be worried sick." Jeff picked up the puppy, and turned to Blue Eyes.
"Oi. What's your name?" Blue Eyes boredly looked at him. "It's Nanase Haruka." You started snickering. "That's my best friend's sister's name." Haruka glanced at you, "Ok then. You can call me Haru-with no chan at the end. Never call me Haru-chan." You grabbed his shoulders and shook him, "You're going to be my friend Haru-chan! No, you don't have a choice. You're going to be stuck with me for a looooooong time. Oh and yeah, don't tell me what I can and can't do." You plastered a scary smile on your face. (just like Juvia. creepy af.)
You let go and he looked completely baffled. You inwardly smirked, even though you just met him a few minutes ago, you could already tell he didn't wear that expression very often. Jeff just watched you two and smiled. "Ah, young love. Brings back so many memories."
Haru blushed and turned his head to the side. You also blushed, but neither of them could tell. Your cheeks were already red from the cold. "Psh, as if. Let's just go now Mr. Ripped Jeans, I'm going to get hypothermia!" Jeff smiled at your tsundereness, it was just so cute! He put down the puppy, took off his jacket, and wrapped it around the dripping Haru. He glared at Jeff, the leather jacket made him even colder. Jeff was oblivious as ever. "Good thing I have that jacket, feels really good right?"Jeff said proudly. In return Haru just face palmed. "Ai ya yai, you guys are really going to get sick. Let's go! " Jeff then led them to his office, which was surprisingly close.

Hi! I hope you liked this, I worked really hard on it. I actually combined two chapters because I thought the first chapter was too short. That's why I have it in two different point of views, sorry if that was confusing. I'm going to make the chapters long as possible for you! I'm so happy that I got 39 views!!!! EEEK!!!! Just imagine, 39 people sitting down and taking the time to read this! I know it might not seem like a lot, but thank you so much. Please vote and comment!
