Sat. June 25th, 2016: Talking with Dawn Treader crew! (wrightstory interview)
Lead reporter, Felicity Annora, of The Wattpad News was able to go visit and have a chat with the crew of the Dawn Treader about upkeeping a ship with Prince Caspian as Felicity's guide.
"There's a lot of work put into a ship," Caspian explained. "Loosening or tightening the sails during a storm is one of the most dangerous jobs because there's a very high chance of getting thrown off the beams and getting hurt, while one of the most easiest things to do would be washing and/or scrubbing the deck."
Tavros the Minotaur had heard the last part of Caspian's sentence, and told Felicity in confidence without his captain around that scrubbing the deck was harder than Caspian made it sound. "During the day, everyone is constantly walking back and forth while doing their duties- stepping in the area you're washing and making it filthy all over again. It's nearly impossible to get the deck completely clean. My personal experience is that working in the kitchen is the easiest job to do, even though it's the most stuffy and unliked rotation."
But out of all the great advice that The Wattpad News received today, the words of a miniature swordsman really reasonated with Felicity even as she was preparing to go back to the office.
"...The most important upkeep of a ship is the upkeep of the crew's relationships," Reepicheep said while hanging on the net leading up to the crow's nest. "When you share a small space with many people, there's a tendency to become easily annoyed at everyone and everything. So we make light by cracking jokes and release tension with sportmanlike spars every now and then. Even the most reserved or gruff personalities find it difficult to stay in their ways when their peers are jolly."

Monday, June 20th, 2016: Paranormal sounds and horrifying screams could be heard from trueathenian's house since the past few days. Worried neighbours take the matter to the police and priest. On further investigation it turns out that he simply forgot to turn the volume down while watching all the horror movies he usually does. Chief Dunwoody visited his home to explain the importance of keeping the volume at a safe decible and how a noise citation works.
Tuesday, June 21st, 2016: The police hauled a furious Thin-Tin-Missy away to the police station for screaming loudly at her computer that went black for no appearent reason again. The police are also debating whether or not to accept her bribe of Krispy Kreme donuts or to throw her in the slammer for 24 hours due to bribing the Chief.
Wednesday, June 22d, 2016: A box of donuts went missing from Chief Dunwoody's office again. He went to visit the previous donut thief's apartment, but he pinky-swore that he did not take the second box of donuts. Please report to the office if you see an empty angel-creame filled, pink frosting topped donut box.

Summer hath arrived- unless, prehaps, thou dwellest in the southern hemisphere. Then thee are experiencing thine winter. Anyhow, 'tisn't been much exceptional weather to comment or report on as of late. Methinks the article this week is frought with disappointments for it's readers. I shall return anon, fear not!

Some of you might be noticing that the Obituaries section has disappeared. This is because my brain is not coming up with and not being able to figure out how to compose book character's deaths anymore. If anybody wants the Obituaries back, let me know and send me a good wall of text about your favorite (John Green?) character's death that's written about in the same fashion that you would see in a real newspaper. I can edit and polish it if needed!

Interview with wrightstory.
-*-
Felicity: Hi, wrightstory! I'd really like to know about how you found Wattpad!
wrightstory: I discovered Wattpad whilst looking for writing information around 2 years ago but I only really started writing seriously with a writing schedule from May 2015. I discovered that Wattpad had a real community feel and I felt comfortable with like minded people.
Felicity: I know- I was actually really surprised with how close knit the nice Wattpad community was when I first got my account. It's like this site became my second family. Anyway, since we're getting a bit off track, how did "Someone Hiding In The Shadows" come to be, and what was it like to have "Someone Hiding In The Shadows" being spotlighted by NBR?
wrightstory: The background of the book is not completely straightforward and will be answered in more depth in my upcoming post for the Wattpad Block Party. Basically, I knew I wanted to write a book for a very long time. A number of years. When my marriage broke up when my daughter was very young I started to put together ideas by mixing up and exaggerating scenarios. I drew from experiences from my degree course, things that had happened when I worked in London, stories friends had told me, newspaper articles or tv reports, even a dream and played around with them. Every time I started writing another family disaster happened but things changed and last year my partner and best friend urged me to write my book and I haven't stopped since.
Felicity: That's so cool! So, how did you become a Wattpad Ambassador?
wrightstory: I had a discussion with the lovely Poet OwainGlyn who thought I would be good at it and encouraged me to go for it and I do love it. They are such a lovely bunch of people. TheOrangutan is without doubt the wisest person there is who always has a funny tale to tell.
Felicity: That's really cute- it sorta almost feels like there's a secret club society comprised completely of Wattpad Ambassadors (just my silly opinion). What's your most favorite thing about Wattpad?
wrightstory: My most favourite thing... it has to be a joint tie here - as its the people and the stories - you can't have one without the other - they are entwined.
Felicity: Yeah, that tie here is really obvious which is really nice. As for me, I gotta say that one of my favorite things about Wattpad is how easy it is to connect with your favorite authors and be noticed by them. I've always had this kind of mindset where I think "Oh I'd really love to talk to this one person, but they'll never notice me because I'm insignificant compared to the vast amount of talented/popular people-" and then when they do notice me, I'm sitting there staring at my notifications in awe because they bothered to say hi back and reply to my message (first time this happened was with KaraMichelleBooks). Wattpad took a sledgehammer to the barrier between author and reader, and I'm lovin' it more than what McDonalds could ever dole out to me and hand to me in a bag.
It's been super fun chatting with you, wrightstory! Thanks so much for your time and agreeing to the interview!
A/N: Would you like to be interviewed or suggest a friend to be interviewed? As always- PM me!

Hi, a-dora-ble!
I was in an internet relationship with my boyfriend and we had a video chat. It was his first time seeing me- I didn't even send him a picture of myself- and he essentially dumped me for not being pretty enough. He apologized like 7 months later, I accepted his apology, and we're trying to still be friends- but my friends keep saying to leave him alone. What do you think i should do? ~Miss-Heart-Cracked-In-Half.
-*-
Hello!
I'll want to start this off by giving my own impressions of the situation and then (hopefully) give you some sound advice on how to manage it. Questions of the heart are very tricky, especially when the relationship is online...but fear not! Aunty D is here to help you out.
I can kind of understand your ex's initial reaction when he saw you for the very first time—usually people start off by sending pictures to one another, then voice calling, and finally video chatting, so, clearly, jumping right to the video chatting could've been a little overwhelming for the both of you. But I find his reaction to be a little uncalled for. By this I mean that it was very shallow of him to break up with you simply for your looks; it's clear to me that he didn't even take your feelings into consideration. He didn't think about the way you felt when you video chatted with him for the first time. I'm not sure whether he sent you photos of himself or not, but either way, that's completely irrelevant. If he can't go beyond the looks, he's not worth keeping.
In addition to that, it took him SEVEN MONTHS to apologise. That's more than half a year! Why in the world did it take him so darn (censored) long? It's almost like the friendship he's offering you is almost out of pity—he feels bad for what he's done, and is trying to make amends by being friends. I'm going to have to agree with your friends. Ditch this guy—you don't need someone like that in your life, especially one that, quite frankly, is immature as he is. You might find it hard to get over him, but from what I can see, you have some good, supportive friends that have your back. Hope I could help!
_______________
Hey, a-dora-ble...
My dad plays favorites with me and my older sibling, and my older sibling happens to be his favorite. He's kinda stubborn and isn't really willing to make himself uncomfortable to change anything for the better and doesn't like confrontation. I'm lost. What do i do? ~Hurt-And-Angry
-*-
Favouritism towards one sibling over another is always a bitter pill to swallow. It's not uncommon for a parent to vehemently deny it—as is the case with your father—and they often fail to see the impact this has on the not-so-favourite sibling. What I suggest that you don't do is outright attack your father, because he obviously won't listen to reason and will simply believe that you're over-reacting/jealous.
Instead, in its place, try approaching this matter more tactfully, avoiding, at all costs, any confrontation. Ask him to spend some more quality time with you, such as playing a sport together, visiting a museum, or even something as simple as watching a movie to build a better relationship with him. Favouritism often occurs because the sibling has a similar personality to the parent/shares similar interests/is more agreeable, so before you broach the subject, you have to build that bond.If all else fails, try speaking to your mother about it (I doubt that your sibling will listen to reason). Hopefully she will talk some sense into your dad!

Hi there, a-dora-ble!
Okay- so one of my friends was having a cupcake stand, and like the awesome friend I am, I decided to help her. Only now she's freaking miffed at me for some reason because I offered that she gets most of the money because she's baking all of the cupcakes and stuff, and I get only get a small amount of money for sitting outside and helping with her stand or whatever. So my point is that I was wondering if you have any idea why she's angry. Like I was only trying to help. What's so wrong with helping? ~ A-Slapped-Helping-Hand.
-*-
I don't think she's annoyed at the fact that you helped her per se, because if she didn't want/need your help in the first place, she probably would've outright declined your offer. It's possible that she's mad at the fact that the earnings haven't been split equally (even though it's obviously in her favour). In her eyes, even though she did what you consider is the bulk of the job, you were as valuable to the success of the cupcake stand as she was. Without your help, things probably wouldn't have run as smoothly as they did—it would've been harder for her to run things on her own or run them with someone she didn't trust as much as you.
I could be wrong, so I suggest that you actually sit down and talk to her about this. You might feel like her behaviour is a little irrational, but there's a reason for everything. What's most important is that, instead of pointing fingers towards who did the most work and who didn't, you recognise that it's because you worked as a team that you achieved the results that you have. Hope I could help!
A/N: Do you have something you want to ask dora? Contact me, and I'll ask her for you! Let me know if you'd like to stay anonymous.
