I guess what particularly surprised me at this point in the process was the fact that I was now nearing 3,000 reads, something I didn't really think was achievable in a month.

It made me evaluate the circumstances of this book, to try and understand why it had grown quite this much.

Had it been the fact that I had uploaded nearly everyday?

Had it been getting followers early on?

Had it been my professional cover?

My writing?

The popular genre I was in?

The fact that I had read lots of works by small authors?

I didn't know which of these was the most influential in helping to get reads, but combined they had certainly worked. When approaching this challenge I had thought that it would have been so time consuming, but in reality what I had found twenty eight days in was that it didn't feel like a burden. This was something I actively set aside hours to do.

Find a book that makes you want to write it. I would have so many moments over this month where all I wanted to do was write my book, and that was so helpful for staying on track.
