How To Maintain An Updating Schedule
This is something I will always be bad at so this chapter is basically me learning from my mistakes. So updating schedules can be notoriously difficult to adhere to and many writers find themselves buckling under the pressure of updates. If you're reading this as someone who is about to start writing a book, WRITE YOUR BOOK IN FULL BEFORE YOU POST IT. I promise it will make updating so much easier.
But if you're like me and never prepare for things, you probably want some tips on how to keep up with an updating schedule.
1. Make it realistic. If you know that you've got stuff going on on Mondays and Fridays after school/ work, don't make those your update days. Make your update days days which you usually have free.
2. Tell your readers if you know that you're not going to be able to update for a while so you don't leave them hanging. Readers are much more likely to understand your problems if you tell them.
3. Force yourself to write. Make yourself write chapters whenever you can. See everything as an opportunity to write. Bus journey? More like writing time.
At the end of the day, don't stress yourself out over updating books. If you miss a day it isn't the end of the world.
