Chapter three

Pain
That was the first thing that I felt. I groaned awake, wanting to sleep more. My eyes shot open, as I remembered what happened. I looked around, but only saw darkness.

Where am I?

A burst of adrenaline shot through me. I wiggled around, praying that it would somewhat help. I was in a small, fuzzy, moving box.

Crap, I'm in a car. Most likely the trunk, that would explain why it's so dark.

It wasn't long before I was shot forward from the sudden stop. I got ready to yell, for when Ben, opened the trunk.

The drivers door was opened and slammed shut. Fear and anticipation took over my body. I froze. What if he had a weapon? Is he going to kill me? Will anyone hear my screams? What will my mom think?

Slowly the trunk opened, and I fought the instinct to scream, especially when I noticed Ben had a knife pointed at me.

I tried to back into the trunk more, but he grabbed my arm and hauled me out of the car. I anxiously looked around at my surroundings, trying to find a familiar- anything, I realized that we were at the bridge that lead out of town.

The car, my car, was parked on an asphalt bridge with old metal rails. The road we traveled was made of gravel, slowly transitioning to asphalt.
There was no one in sight. Just the river that flowed under us, and the sunny fields around us. I looked nervously at Ben. He seemed more sober now. It was around mid-day, so that was probably why.

"So uh, Benny... this is great and everything, but I'm not in the mood for a picnic. It would be great if you could-" Ben glared down at me, and I gulped when he lifted his hand.

"You know what, I'm in the mood for a picnic after all!" I pratically yelled, pushing away from him. He snarled and punched me in the eye. I almost fell from the impact, and my eye teared and swollen shut.
Tears were streaming down my face and chin. "Please! Don't do this!" I sobbed. He held the knife as if he were going to stab me. I screamed.
