Chapter Four

I try to push off him and toh put distance between us. Adrenaline was pumping through me like there was no tomorrow, probably because there wouldn't be.

I felt the breeze from the kitchen knife going through the air, I cringed, waiting in agony for death. But it never came. I turned to face Ben when I heard chuckling.

That asshole was laughing at me, the nerve!

"I love it when they do that" Ben said still chuckling. "Now, back to business." His expression changed back into the straight-face psycho I know and hate.

He pushed me into the backseat of the car and straddled me.

Oh god! Is he going to assault me?! That prick better not!

I started squirming and trying to push him off me, no such luck.

"I would stop moving under me like that if I were you." He was smirking. I immediately stopped moving and he reached under the seat pulling up a twelve pack of beer.

He popped the lid off of one of the bottles with a keychain bottle opener, it was stainless steel and shaped like a shark, the mouth as the opener.

"I got the strong stuff" he chugged back half the bottle before hiccuping. "Wanna a sip?"

"Not particularly, I'm more of a fruity cocktail person, as opposed to beer" I reply, he slapped me across the face "...actually I'm a bit parched" Ben put the bottle to my lips and I took a small sip of the warm beverage and gave a weak smile considering I still had the beer to my lips.
"Drink the rest!" I shook my head and he pinched my nose shut, planning to wait me out.

Fool, I once held my breath for thirty seconds underwater, I can handle this...

After what seemed like twelve seconds, my lungs wanted-no, needed-air.

Crap, so much for that.

I started to squirm desperate for air. I gasped for breath and the gross substance instantly went down my throat. Ben removed his hand from my nose so I wouldn't choke. I hungrily inhale and exhale, trying to get as much oxygen as possible.

As soon as i finished chugging back the first bottle, he reaches beside him and pops the cap off another beer, "we can do this the easy way or the hard way." My jaw is sore, but I open my mouth anyways "can you get off me at least? I think I can sit up on my own."

He gets off me and I feel like I can actually breathe, he's not a light dude. I sit up and he hands me the beer. "Cheers" I say and chug the beer back. I already feel a little dizzy and unstable. This is probably because I haven't had anything to eat since yesterday afternoon.

"Got any food?" "Nope" he stares straight ahead and pops open another beer, and hands it over to me in a single action. "Great" I say sarcastically

By my fifth beer I'm completely out of it, I'm trying desperately to stay concise and not throw up.

He talks to me but I can't understand or hear him, I try to push him way from me, but I'm sluggish. Ben dragged me out of the car by my arm "oww, duude you could ask me nicelyy" I slurred. He ignored me, and picked me up and I weakly flop around in arms,

What is he doing?

He approaches the edge of the bridge, I stop moving and grab onto him, I can tell already of how he's going to kill me. I've never been a strong swimmer, and in my current state, I won't last long. I cling onto his clothes and he pries me off him, like you would a child, and holds my hands together. He rolls my legs off his arm, and throws them over the rail. I'm sitting up with my legs drapped over the side of the metal fence, Ben leans towards me and whispers "I'll tell Kate you said 'hi'." Before letting go of my hands and pushes me into the murky river.

I free fall and splash into the cold water. My eyes shoot open in panic, and my limbs are sluggish and awkward, but I start to do the doggy paddle, desperate to survive. I make it to the surface and breath.

I look around quickly before I go under again. I look to be in the middle of the wide river, just my luck, I need air again so I resurface. I can't keep this up for much longer. Already my arms feel like lead. I don't have enough energy to keep swimming, so I lean backwards and float on my back. That doesn't work for long because water keeps lapping into my mouth and nose. I have to resume swimming. I go under instantly and start to panic. I slowly flap my arms, trying to surface. I spring to the surface but bob back under the water. I have barely any energy left, and the adrenaline is dissipating. I feel lightheaded and my vision is going blurry. I can't continue to swim, slowly I sink to my watery grave.

My lung are burning, desperate for air. I inhale, and immediately begin choking. Black is all I can see now, either from the lack of air, or that is the visibility from the water.

I say my final prayer, and goodbye to my mom.

My light is dimming.

I'm coming, dad.
