A Welpion Wedding - Part 2
Rosila stood in her wedding dress at the edge of the garden, trying not to panic. It was supposed to be a small event with just a few friends and family, though all Welpion had wanted to attend. She cast her eyes out over the garden frowning at the dark city that had closed their markets for their celebration.
The last few days had been a blur, but she had loved every minute of it. Raven and Whylomie had dedicated their time to helping her prepare for this event giving her someone other than Suzy or her father to confide in. Giggling made her turn around as Raven and Whylomie approached in matching dresses and hair styles. The long green dresses looked great on them, making Rosila sigh nervously.
"You going to be, okay? Do you need some water or something?" Whylomie asked as Raven ogled her dress.
"You look gorgeous! Suzy is going to freak." Raven gushed as Rosila blushed. The last few days had done wonders for their relationship too, though Raven still preferred Whylomie's company to Rosila's, she understood.
"Thank you. I don't know why I am so nervous." Rosila confided as Raven took her hands in hers.
"Do you love him?" Raven asked as Rosila frowned nodding.
"More than anything." Rosila said as Raven smiled.
"I have been watching him over the last few days and I can tell you, he looks at you the way Hank looks at Clair. If that isn't true love, then I don't know what is. Suzy is perfect for you, and everyone can tell you make him so very happy." Raven told her as Rosila blushed, tears lining her lashes. Raven nodded as she hugged her sister, laughing when Whylomie hugged them both.
"Thank you. I guess I have just been so nervous about this child that it has been clouding my judgement." Rosila confessed as Whylomie hugged her close.
"You are a beautiful, confident woman who is about to marry a man that adores you. This child will complete this family unit. Not take away from it." Whylomie nodded confidently as Rosila giggled.
"Besides, if Hank can love me knowing how much of a brat I can be, I have no doubt Suzy can love your child even more. Because they will be a part of you." Raven told her as Rosila nodded taking a deep breath to calm herself.
Raven had been surprised by the idea of Rosila being pregnant, but after finding out the truth, she had been trying to be supportive about the whole thing. Adam would pay in time. She would see to that.
Suzy had won points in her book, trying to keep Rosila safe and happy and accepting this child as his own. Raven paused when a familiar face appeared.
"Hello miss Raven. Been a while. Did you like the gift your father got you?" Elaine asked as Raven blushed nodding.
"The dress was beautiful. I loved it. Did you design Rosila's wedding dress too?" Raven asked as the old woman chuckled nodding. Her long grey braids swinging in time with her walk.
"I am the oldest Druid in Welpion at the moment looking after Rosila and the other pretty face. But how could I not look after my precious grandchild? She is so much smarter than her father ever was." Elaine gushed making Raven giggle as Rosila blushed. "You two better go take your seats, I will take it from here." Elaine told them. They paused once to hug Rosila before giggling and wandering away.
"Goodness, mother. You never know when you have said too much." Finn grumbled from the shadows as Elaine rolled her eyes.
"Rosila has got the right idea. Raven is a charming girl and one day I will dote on both of my granddaughters. But enough about that. Are you ready to walk your girl down the aisle and give her away?" Elaine asked as Finn sighed.
"As ready as I will ever be. You will always be my princess." Finn told Rosila kissing her forehead as he hugged her.
"You look even more beautiful than your mother on our wedding day. If Suzy doesn't faint, I will have to knock him out." Finn grumbled as Rosila giggled.
The music started and she laced her fingers in the crock of her father's arm. He led her down the rose petal path to the willow tree, decorated in lanterns and crystals. Suzy stood waiting for her and when their eyes met, he smiled. Yeah, everything was going to be all right.
The wedding carried on without a hitch and everyone applauded for the kiss. Suddenly a deafening roar lit up the streets as the kingdom of Welpion rejoiced for their King and new queen. The darkened kingdom lit up, chasing away the star light.
People rejoiced in the streets as a festival to celebrate their marriage. Suzy laughed as he tried to sneak Rosila away from the energetic crowds. She was chuckling as they disappeared into the night. Suzy paused to lift her into his arms. Kissing her deeply.
"Let them celebrate without us." Suzy told her as she giggled. He carried through the dimmer streets pausing in front of a little green house. He waltzed through the front gate. Smiling as Rosila admired the rose bushes that lined the yard. He carried her up the steps to the front porch before setting her down gently.
"This is my wedding gift to you. I hope you like it and can see our family living here." Suzy told her as he opened the door. Rosila wandered inside gasping at the large round room. Large windows framed the scene in the garden. Her willow tree surrounded by lights and laughter. The room sunk down to create a sitting area near the fireplace. So far, she loved everything about the place.
Suzy took her hand, leading her around the lower rooms. He led her up the spiral staircase tucked in between the kitchen and windows. It led to a balcony overlooking the living room. He took her to the nursery first, smiling when she gasped. He watched her go explore the crib, picking up the stuffed animal and chuckling softly.
"I love it. I love all of it." Rosila told him as Suzy smiled.
"The house has two more bedrooms for the kids when they get older. Though I think our room is the best in the house." Suzy winked leading the way to the double doors they had passed. He threw them open, standing back as Rosila wandered inside.
More glass windows overlooked the garden as a large bed sat in the center of the room. On one wall sat a dresser covered in trinkets, including the bookends and wood carved lynx. Their dates were on display making Rosila smile.
"It's perfect. More than I could have dreamed. I love it." Rosila told him as Suzy hugged her from behind.
"Just like you. Welcome home my lovely wife." Suzy purred as she giggled. Life was going to be good.

Hank watched the two assassins quietly as they wrestled in their new garments. Their hair had been trimmed and styled. Korbin even managed to groom his sad little beard from last time, giving himself a bright red goatee. Korbin was laughing as he tried to show Quinn how to overcome his weakness.
Using his elbows to strike instead of his fists. Though it seemed less like fighting and more of flirting between the two of them. Clair giggled as she watered the little pots in the cell window. Hank sighed, hesitating when his pocket started to vibrate. He pulled out the small mirror frowning at the ragged looking seer.
"Something has changed. The demon is stirring sooner than it should be able too. You must send the boy to Welpion. He will be needed to help Raven. My time is short King Hankard. I wish you and your people well. May the darkness fade." Framtida stuttered before the connection was lost. Hank pouted at the small glass mirror jumping when someone behind him sighed.
"She is awfully bossy, ain't she?" Korbin asked as he leaned against the vines, Quinn resting beside him.
"She said something about a demon. You don't think?" Quinn started as Korbin nodded.
"Oh, hell yes, I do. That brat is just causing us headache after headache." Korbin growled angrily. He didn't want Quinn anywhere near the demon.
"What do you know?" Hank asked as he grabbed the vines. Framtida hadn't seen fit to fill him in on Raven's quest. This was the first he was hearing of a demon.
"We know that Adam is obsessed with power. An old legend of a demon's greatness blinded him, and he went in search of old fairytales. Turns out though, he was right. Salvino had the demon of myth all along and Adam planned to use him to rule the world. We never thought he could achieve it.
Adam may be lots of things, but he is only great through others. He doesn't stand alone as king or a leader. His puppets help him out. Like us and mostly Kale. If Adam does wake the demon, there is no way he will be able to control him." Korbin told him as he hugged Quinn to his side. Quinn frowned uneasily nodding in agreement. Adam was not the kind of man who could hold onto power long.
"Hank. Ivy is in trouble! If they are right, Soren will stop at nothing to see her dead." A voice screamed silently. Hank frowned shaking his head as the others glanced around confused.
"It's too late. She is beyond my reach." Hank grumbled as the air hissed silently.
"Who is Soren?" Quinn asked Korbin as he shrugged. They jumped when the vines twisted themselves, pulling themselves together until a man appeared.
"Soren is the name of the Demon. He was the last man to sell his soul for its power. During the last war he was trapped, and I agreed with Salvino that he should be hidden away in the mountain never to return. He holds a grudge against me and will stop at nothing to see me suffer. He will see Trayson burn." The vines grumbled as Hank pinched the bridge of his nose.
Trayson had begun to stir the moment he his son had accepted his true nature. Though the fact that he brought that woman here had meant things hadn't really changed. Instead of welcoming his son home, he simply waited, listening to the things around him until the dragon called.
"Great. And now Framtida thinks my daughter can stop him. Why? Why Raven?" Hank growled as the plant shrugged. Hank had never introduced Raven to his father knowing Trayson would never see her as his child.
Trayson shifted in a circle pausing when he saw Clair. She folded her arms acrossed her chest and grunted at him. Quinn giggled at her attitude, pausing when they turned on him. The plant seemed to freeze before reaching out towards him.
"Oh no, plant face. He is mine. You don't get to touch him." Korbin growled as he pulled Quinn behind him. Quinn blushed hugging Korbin from behind. Korbin sighed patting Quinn's hand, smiling when he laced his fingers with his. Hank shook his head wandering in to stand between them, his back to his father.
"I originally came down here to discuss an opportunity with you. Both of you. It seems Framtida believes that Quinn can help out my daughter on this quest. So, I am sending you to Welpion. I have already discussed the matter with the king, and he has agreed to let you come on a trial basis." Hank told them as they shared a look.
"I have my doubts. I won't lie, but I believe you two can have a future here. In Trayson. There will be rough spots along the way, and it may take a while for the public to adjust, but as long as you are both trying, I believe we can make this work. Right now, however, my daughter needs you. How or why, I don't know. Hopefully together you can figure that out." Hank grumbled.
"What makes you think we won't run the moment the opportunity presents itself?" Korbin asked slowly as Clair smiled warmly at them, coming to stand by her husband and ignoring Trayson.
"Where else can you go that you can call home?" Clair asked as Korbin smiled giving in.
"When would you like us to leave?" Korbin asked as Hank glanced at his wife.
"Soon. I will have someone help prepare you for your travels." Hank grunted as his wife stood on her toes kissing his cheek. She winked leading the young men out of the dungeon for the first time in weeks.
"This might sound weird, but I think I am going to miss being locked up." Quinn mumbled as Korbin laughed. He hugged him close and kissed his head smiling when he turned a shade of red.
"I love you too." Korbin murmured happily as they followed their queen onwards. Hank sighed watching them go before rubbing his head worriedly.
"I thought Ari was the last." Trayson mumbled as Hank frowned at him. Ari had been his father's first love, dying in the war against the demon. Though he wasn't sure what she had to do with anything.
"I need to get back to work father. The work of the king never stops." Hank grumbled walking away. He was surprised to see him now. After all this time. He hadn't even bothered to make an appearance at his awakening. And the fact that he still judged his wife based on her blood made him growl.
He didn't have time to focus on that. He glanced up at the druid waiting for him at the top of the stairs. A mix of emotions in his face and stiff shoulders.
"Deirmus. It's time we prepare for war." Hank grumbled as Trayson's warning echoed in his head. He will see Trayson burn. Deirmus simply bowed following his king to prepare for battle.
