Chapter 7. Grief

POV: Grian
Location: All-Admin Meeting Room

Libra took longer than I expected when she said she'd slip my name I thought she forgot the plan. When she did, I purposely froze. I slowly turn to make it seem authentic.

"Did you just..." I asked in a quiet tone. My voice amplifier was off. She turned hers off also.

"I'm so sorry-"

"Leave it, Li. It's fine. It was going to be known eventually..." I turn to the doors again, hoping everyone, even Xisuma, bought that scene. I turn to walk out the doors again. The lights flicked, then went out. I narrow my eyes, looking over my shoulder and at Skyward. She looked towards the doors. I detected...

I growled. What was Watcher magic doing here?

I put a force field up, protecting the lower Tiers, also preventing them from hearing the conversation. The doors were kicked open with such force they probably left a dent in the stone.

The Head Watcher stood there, dramatic and smiling an evil grin. He wore a dark purple robe and even darker purple clothing underneath it. His boots were black, and belt was brown. This time, his hood was down, showing off his long, black hair. His eyes were glowing purple with a literal flame emitting from it.

"Can I please go on with my life to never see you again?" I ask, frowning at his dramatic posture.

"Well well well, Grian. I see you've recovered nicely." He said. He stepped closer, stopping when he saw Libra's hand glow, getting ready to blast the life out of him. He stepped back, holding his hands up in a surrendering position.

"I just wanted to speak with you." He spoke. I looked at him with an unconvinced expression.

"In front of all my people?" I ask.

"... I guess it's a bonus." He shrugged.

"What do you want, Kyle?" He scowled as I smirked.

"I told you not to call me that pathetic name!" [not meant to offend, he has to stay in character]

"What do you want?" I tried again.

"I'm here to make a deal." He crossed his arms, tilting his head ever so slightly to the side.

"I probably won't accept, but go on." In the corner of my eye, I saw blasts of silver Admin energy collide into the dome.

"I'll spare your precious servers that we're destroying... if you join us."

"No." He smirked, apparently expecting my answer. He lifted his wrist to his mouth and spoke into a communicator type of thing.

"Aim for Hermitcraft. Destroy every single thing in it."

"What?! No, stop!"

"Cancel that, for now." He held his hands behind his back in a formal way.

"Why," I ask. "Why are you after me?"

"Because I want you-"

"I told you, I'm straight-"

"To join us! You're so powerful... we could use you-"

"Leave me alone!" I scream at him.

"Join us, and I'll spare your pitiful server you play on."

"Over my dead body, Watcher."

"One day, Grian, I'll make it happen."

"If you do, it'll be your downfall." I hiss. He sent a blast of his horrid magic as Libra deflected it into another wall. Many pieces of stone fell from the wall. There was now a huge hole we had to fix later. He sent another solid beam coming from his hands, meeting with Libra's Admin energy in the middle.

"Grian! Let the Tier Argentums into here! No one else!" Libra yelled back to me. I allowed them in. Hypixel was unfortunate enough to be leaning on the dome. He fell out of the dome and onto his side. He quickly popped up again, letting his abilities to surge into his arms. His aura glowed brighter as he used his admin perks. The other Tier Argentum admins were surprised, but quickly followed Hypixels lead in defending us.

"Hold a shield, protect us as we attack." I snarled, as I summon my trusty sword. Two Tier Argentum admins conjured a main shield and the other two waited for the combat to happen. We've done something like this in training.

I launched myself towards the Watcher, Libra following me. I sliced as I landed, quickly catching him off guard. He struck as he side-stepped, getting stopped by a silver shield. Hypixel and AppleG were making sure we didn't get hurt by and obvious strikes.

Libra sliced at his back, causing Watcher blood, a purple liquid, to drip onto the floor. The Watcher tried his best to battle us, but didn't last long with Libra, myself, and the Tier Argentum admins assisting us.

I kicked the back of his legs, making him wince and drop to his knees. Libra and I held a sword to him, Libra's on his back, and mine under his neck. For some reason, he was still grinning.

"Just wanted to say, Pearlescentmoon and Taurtis are ours. You won't get them back." He laughed a chilling laugh as I pale. I dropped my sword as he disappeared with a pop. I fall to my knees, aware of the emotion and weakness I was showing to every single admin out there.

I withdrew my magic from the dome, letting it fade away. The Tier Argentum admins were breathing hard. Using that much amount of energy... takes up a lot of energy, especially since none of us have done that in a while. I let my tears freely flow down my face, not bothering to stop them. I look up at Libra, who approached me with pity on her face.

"I-it can't be true." I stutter. She wrapped her arms around me, knowing how many eyes were upon is.

"I'm sorry, Xelqua..."

"What do we do n-now?" I sniffed, wiping my tears and slowly standing up. I put my forehead on her shoulder. She rubbed my back.

"If Void asks where you were, tell him you found out that your friends took a trip into Evo because they thought it was safe. Tell him they were captured and turned into a Watcher by force." She said into my ear. I nodded and spread my wings out, almost hitting a tired and very exhausted AppleG in the face. He kept up with the battle, preventing myself and Libra from getting cut. He also used some of his energy to try and break out of the dome. I turned to face the doors.

I beat my wings with force. I flew out the doors. I couldn't hold back the loud sob that escaped my lips. I covered my mouth, aware of how loud it was. After making sure I was far away from the meeting room, I tore my hood off, letting my hair flop on my head.

I run to the portal that was made to go to the player's residence. I throw myself in, wincing as my shoulder hits the wall behind the portal.

I stumble into my customized home, plopping myself onto my bed, curling into a ball.

Pearl and Taurtis... they're gone. If I know them, they tried to resist, but joined against their will.

I lay there for a few hours, unmoving. I heard my communicator beep a few times, but never picked it up. A louder, more important sounding beep made me actually get up and look at it. Void made an announcement, saying that the Hermitcraft server was back online. You know what? I have nothing to do right now. My energy was spent crying. I'm going to stress build and finish my base that I have been working on for the past few weeks

Appearing where I left the server, I flew to my large, futuristic base. I land on the bottom floor, grabbing a multitude shulker boxes. I heard fireworks go off behind me. I turn to see the Tier Purpura admin, looking at me with a mix of fear, stress, and curiosity. I know he noticed my red eyes.

"Grian, I've got some information I think you want and need to know." He says, I twitched my eyebrow up ever so slightly.

"Oh? Enlighten me, if you would." I said. I paused and mentally cursed myself for sounding so formal. I usually use a formal voice when speaking to an audience. I haven't had time to change my habits.

Xisuma didn't notice though.

"Xelqua, your admin friend. He's... the second Prime Admin. Libra slipped his name at the meeting." He says. I turn to him.

"So that's where he's been..." I purposely mutter, piquing his curiosity. "He's probably been busy hiding his identity, checking servers... that sort of stuff." Xisuma nodded.

"A great fighter too. You should be proud of him, Grian. Maybe get in touch again. From what I've seen of him, he's a good friend to have." He suggested. I shrugged, thinking how 'in touch' I've been.

"And- off topic, I know, but what happened? You look like you've been crying." My mood instantly changed to a sombre mood.

"O-oh." I choke on my words, not by choice this time. "I- my friend from Evo wanted to talk to me. They said that... two other members, close friends I will add... They were taken by the Watchers... and forced to become one of them-" I cut myself off, covering my mouth as a small sob escaped my lips. Xisuma looked at me through his helmet with a sympathetic expression.

"Goodness, Grian. I didn't know... I'm so sorry." He said, wrapping his arms around me. I didn't have enough energy to cry again. Xisuma didn't know what to say. He held me there for a few moments, before releasing me.

"If you ever need to talk, you can speak to me, or anyone else of the server. I hope you trust us." He said, before turning away and flying off. I didn't really care if he left, as harsh as that sounds. Xisuma can get awkward sometimes, and I know he didn't want to make the situation worse than it already is.

As he left, my communicator beeped even louder than before. I look down at it, relieved that Xisuma left.

I leave the server and go to my personal home, changing into my formal admin clothes. They were white robes whose trim was golden. The crest on my left shoulder was a golden shield with a black 'A' in the center made with fancy calligraphy. (It could either stand for Admin or Aurum.) I put that over the white pants and white shirt that goes with it. I look in the mirror, seeing that the robes and my wings match. To make everything match, I let my Prime Admin aura shine. I pull the hood over my head, casting a shadow over the top half of my face. I made sure it can't move with 'magic'. I close my eyes and breathe deeply, getting into a calm and collected state. It would not do if I lost control now. I look back into the mirror, an emotionless face looking back at me.

I turn away, teleporting into the Server Hub. There were well over ten thousand people there. Everyone instantly got out of my way, knowing who it was from my robes. I push myself up into the air with my powerful wings and survey everyone. I saw the Tier Argentum admins in their formal silver robes, shining their auras brightly. Many players looked at us in awe, stopping in their tracks. I bet some people didn't even know Hypixel was a person.

I land on an invisible conjured platform, making it seem like I was in creative mode. I look down at everyone. That's a lot of people, and is bound to cause some safety issues, especially those toxic players I've heard so much about.

But we'll deal. We'll be fine. I'll make sure.of it.
