Chapter 21: The Watcher's Downfall
(Warning: Slight violence, more fighting.)
POV: Grian
Location: Watcher's Lair
The falling of the chandelier threw me off my feet, sending me towards the floor. I slid on my side, covering my face. I wasn't able to get far enough from the glass. I felt a few pieces of glass in my left arm. I just can't not get injured, can't I?
I scrambled to my feet, backing away and covering the left side of my face. There was a huge scratch, and unfortunately, I believe it damaged my left eye. I forcefully exhaled, adrenaline from earlier still lingering.
All of my left side hurt, but I ignored it for now. I limped close to the others. AppleG pushed a potion of healing into my empty hand. I took it, feeling less pain than before.
I looked down at my body, seeing a few pieces of glass sticking out of my skin. I plucked them out since they weren't deep. They were only through the surface of my skin.
"Is he dead?" An admin asked, voice shaking. I turned to see a scared BadBoyHalo who was trembling with fear. I gaze at him with sympathy.
"I'm not so sure. Be on guard though, we don't know how many Watchers are left." I quietly say. I look over to the glowing light purple aura which was farther away from me. Xisuma was hurt, physically and mentally... and emotionally. Directing my attention to the other side of the room, I squint to see with my right eye better. My left hand was still over my left eye.
It seems like most of the Watchers were killed from the amount of glass that fell. When I say that the chandelier was huge, it was. There was glass all over the floor, the carpet was ripped and stained with blood, and the bodies of Watchers were on the floor.
"You... blasted admins... will pay..." Head Watcher's strangled void came. A weak arm pushed parts of the chandelier away, revealing the mangled body of the Head Watcher. He staggered to his feet sneering at every single person in the room.
"This will end once and for all, Head Watcher." I growled. I remove my hand from my face, my left side was blurry, but I couldn't care less. Drops of blood slid down my face, but I ignored it.
"I won't go down without a fight." He snarled. I flew towards Head Watcher, wielding my obsidian sword. The Head Watcher, who had no weapon to defend himself, threw his hands up as if that would stop me. I knocked him over, putting my foot on his throat. He gagged and tried to breathe.
"Void." I say, voice cold and unforgiving.
"Yes, Prime Admin?" I heard Xisuma ask.
"Come." He approached me, and I stepped back. I gestured at the Head Watcher who was breathing hard and shakily.
"No, Prime Admin, I won't kill him. You deserve to do it. But, I do want to say a few things." He leaned down, near Head Watcher's ear. The Head Watcher tried to punch him, but Xisuma grabbed his wrist. He muttered a few words which made the Head Watcher widen his eyes in fear. I smirked at the amount of fear and terror in his eyes. Xisuma backed away just a little, a satisfied look on his face, especially his eyes. His unique purple aura faded a little, but still shone brightly.
Head Watcher tried getting up, but I put my foot onto his chest, knocking the wind out of him and pushing him back to the ground.
"Heh, you have won this time, Admins. But we'll be back. It will happen." He gasped.
"Any last words?" I asked, raising his sword above the Head Watcher's chest, much like the movies.
"I curse you forever, Xelqua Grian." He snarled in response. I growled and plunged the sword into his chest. The Head Watcher coughed blood, a vast amount flowed out of his mouth from the corners. The light faded from his eyes, a small smirk resting on his face. His blank eyes started up at the ceiling, and the grasp on his sword loosened. He didn't puff into smoke, as it was a perma-death.
I took the blade out, it stained with a lot of blood.
"It's over." I said, disbelief in my voice. Xisuma nodded, a sad look in his eyes.
"It's finally over." I repeat. Xisuma approached me and laid a gentle hand on my arm. He gave me a comforting look. I sigh, and hug him, catching him off guard. He had to bend down to return it. He shed a few tears into my shoulder, no doubt mourning his brother's death. He looked over to his brother's body, which was still in the same place. I released him, and he went over to his twin. He held him, silently crying again.
I looked towards Libra, and she looked back. She seemed to be having the same idea as me. She told everyone to move, and to get out of the place. She knew what I was going to do.
As the last admin left the Watcher's Lair, I turned back to the doors of the room, which have slowly closed over time. It was half open, but still destroyable.
After a few minutes, my hands glowed, golden streaks spreading to my arms. A sign that I'm using the most powerful energy I could. I was about to blast the entire place and destroy it, when I heard two familiar voices that almost made me cry again.
"Grian! Grian!" Taurtis.
"Don't! Not yet!" Pearl.
I turn around to see the two running towards me, stumbling over their Watcher robes. They didn't have masks on their faces. My eyes water. I thought I would never see them again.
"The other Evolutionists are still in the server! They're locked in a bedrock cage on the land." Taurtis said, holding charred papers.
"I-I have to blow this place up... get out, get out before you get hurt!" I say. They shake their heads stepping closer.
"We're staying with you." Pearl insisted. I turned back to the door, holding my arms out. If I can cause a large enough blast, the entire place will explode because it's the center of the building.
I release that energy that's been building up in my arms. Magic surged through them, causing the room to rumble. I add emotions to it: the grief, anger, relief, sadness, everything to make the explosion larger.
Just as the room exploded, I created a strong bubble of Prime Energy around the three of us. It silenced the sound from the blast, and prevented the debris from harming Taurtis, Pearl, and I.
We free fell through the sky. The debris stayed in the air since we were over 10,000 blocks over the land.
"So, where is everyone else, now?" I asked.
"Uhm, we can't describe it, because we don't know what it looks like, but we know where it is. We'll show you." Pearl said.
"I think I'm going to be sick." Taurtis said. I made the bubble disappear.
"Ok, yes, I do feel bad, but not in an enclosed space like that." I yell, wind preventing me from hearing well.
Land came in sight very quickly. I gradually stop us from falling so we don't go splat on the server floor.
We landed next to everyone else. Taurtis doubled over, puking on the side.
"Good," I huffed. "It wasn't on us." Pearl looked at me with an unamused look on her face, as did many others.
"Alright then... we should get going." Hypixel said.
"Wait, the other members are here, encased in a bedrock cage." Taurtis said, timidly speaking up. He shrunk back, getting glares from many admins.
"What's a Watcher doing with us? Two of them actually." AppleG growled.
"They were Evolutionists." Xisuma said quietly. "They saved me, they let me out from the cell I sat in." I nodded. Taurtis looked at the papers he still somehow held.
"According to this, they're over there." He pointed to a place over yonder. Lo and behold, a bedrock box was sticking out of the ground, large enough for all the other Evolutionists.
"Libra, could you blow the bedrock up? I blew the Watcher's Lair up and don't have much energy left." She nodded, getting gawked at by some people.
"You can destroy bedrock?!" I heard someone exclaim in disbelief. Libra had already flew over the the cage, blowing the top off of it. She dragged all of the Evolutionists out of the box, earning confused looks.
"Alright, since everyone is here, can we go back home, now?"
"Yes, we can go back. It's over, it's finally over. We can live in peace now, without Watcher's terrorizing us." I say, earning a loud cheer. I look over to the portal in the distance, which was still glowing and whirling.
We can finally live in peace, for once in a while.
