Chapter 11. Hermits' Defence

(I loved the reactions for the last chapter's cliffhanger)

POV: Xisumavoid
Location: Admin HeadQuarters

"No... No no no... this can't be happening." I mutter. Hypixel came over, wondering what it was. He had a frown on his face. Blood and black substances stained his matted silver hair. His hoodie was ripped and he had scars on his visible skin. He looked at me with worry. He held a potion of healing that was half full.

"What's the problem?" He asks, running a hand through his hair. He tried untangling it, but ended up smearing the substances more.

I point my finger to the communicator that was on the floor. He bent down and picked it up. He narrowed his eyes at it, before speaking rapid Galactic, commanding most of the admins. Most of us understood it, but didn't know how to speak it. Admins started moving around and players got out of the way.

Hypixel turned to me, holding the communicator out to me. I took it as he started talking. I look at the screen, reading the rest of the message.

"Void, please click the second option. We need as much help as we can get."

I enter in 4357.

Hermitcraft server portal is now open for whitelisted members and additional admins for assistance.

I nod at Hypixel, who was waiting for me to finish. He nods back and turns to the rest of the Hermits.

"We'll explain on the way. But now, you all know the Hermitcraft server the best. Please, don't panic. We won't let them take it over like Skeppy's server." Hypixel said. Everyone looked horrified that someone's server got take over.

He lead us through the crowd, flashing an agitated aura when people wouldn't move. He basically pushed us back into the server, hurrying us up. None of my members protested. They knew how serious the situation was.

Grian stumbled in right after us, falling into Hypixel, who followed us and made sure everyone was there. Grian muttered an apology... at least five times. Hypixel tried to reassure him that it was fine, but Grian wasn't agreeing with him. His ears and cheeks were red.

"Grian, relax, Hypixel says it's fine." Mumbo muttered into Grian's ear. Grian frowned but said nothing.

As that was happening, many admins came into the server. AppleG and Noobcrew took them aside and explained what was going to happen. When they spread out, it was clear who was in Skeppy's server and who wasn't. For example, black substance coated some of them, some of their clothes were ripped, they were quite beaten, ect.

I pulled out the communicator and locked it, preventing anyone from leaving the server.

I was observing everyone around us when Hypixel approached me. He handed me a few healing potions. I look at him with a questioning expression.

"Why...?" I begin. He pulls out his communicator and shows me my reflection.

"Though you may feel fine, you really don't look alright." He was right. I had slight bags under my eyes, I had a few cuts on my arms that were slowly leaking blood. My armor was very scratched up and dirty.

"Fine." I open the potion and drink one. I put the bottle into the back of my inventory. I saved the others for later. Hypixel turned away and launched into the sky, meeting with the other Tier Argentum admins.

"Hey, Xisuma?" I hear Iskall start asking. I look at him over my shoulder.

"So what's exactly going on?"

"Watchers have hacked into the server. They're going to destroy it. You're heard that Skeppy's server got shut down, right?"

"Yeah, Skeppy got kicked from his own server. He couldn't get back on." False added.

"Exactly. That's going to happen to our server if we don't defend it. This is the Watchers' second large server. I've heard from the other admins that they already shut down over 100 smaller servers." The sky subtly flickers a small shade darker. Only I seem to have noticed.

"You make them seem really powerful."

"That's because-" The world shook, much like how InvadedLands did. I narrow my eyes as the sky flickers again and more noticeable.

"-they are." I finish. Everyone had diamond armor on. The Hermits, the admins, everyone. Libra flew over all of us, earning awed gasps. They saw the other Prime Admin, but not her. While looking towards the sky, it quickly turned into a purple and white mess of color.

"Is that-" Cub started, not acknowledging the glitched sky.

"Yes, that's Libra. One of the two Prime Admins." Biffa explained.

"Where's the other one?" Mumbo asked.

"Don't know. Maybe he got injured in Skeppy's server." I reply, strapping a new elytra on. I turned to fly, before I was stopped by another question.

"Wait X, before you go, is there anything else we need to know of?" Tango asked, eyes glowing. I pause, nodding but not turning to face them.

"Don't die."

"Why?" Impulse questioned.

"It's perma-death on a locked server." I launch off, hearing mixed reactions to my reply. I fly towards AppleG, quickly falling into place next to him.

"You tell the other admins it's perma-death now?" AppleG nodded, scanning the area.

"Did you?"

"Yes." I reply. I hear the Head Watcher's laugh. It was faint, but was audible.

"Geez, does this derp ever stop laughing?" I mutter. AppleG smirked and shrugged.

A large explosion was visible from over 100 blocks away. It looks like it blew up part of a forest.

"God, all of your members are so talented." AppleG commented as we fly over the shopping district. I nod, not saying anything. We both loop back towards the area where I previously was.

Out of the forest, I see the Watchers dressed in their telltale clothing appearing. Arrows of all sorts were shot towards us. Tridents flew towards us. I pulled up, narrowly avoiding a poisoned arrow to the stomach. AppleG sent a large blast of his energy towards the middle of the Watchers. It took out at least 200 Watchers, but more flooded out of the forest.

More admins followed AppleG's lead, sending blasts of energy at them. But no matter the amount of energy sent, more seem to keep appearing. It's like a wave of never ending purple and black.

Over 15 minutes later, more Watchers were still coming. I had no idea there were this many Watchers. Maybe they are clones from regular Watchers. But how on Earth did Head Watcher manage to clone people?

Libra wiped an entire wave of Watchers out. They fell to the ground, but more still flooded out of the trees. I groan in frustration, landing behind one and stabbing it in the back. I kept slicing every Watcher I saw. Someone sliced me in the side, and very deeply. I grunt in pain and kick the Watcher who did that. One punched me right in the jaw. I see stars, but refuse to go down by just a punch. I'd prefer getting captured than getting knocked down by a punch. I punch back harder than the Watcher did. He crumpled to the floor. I wipe the blood from my mouth and launch back into the air.

The black substance was back. It must have taken longer to hack my server because there is more code in it. The good thing is that lava and fire hasn't started spreading. Some admins slipped in the substance, getting it all over themselves. It was only a minor set back. Nothing to bad... for now.

As I fly over everyone, dodging arrows and sending energy back, I see all the Hermits have taken a defensive position. They were in a circle, fighting the Watchers off that were cornering them. They were on a cliff, slowly getting pushed back towards the edge. I approach them, taking a few moments because they were very far away.

I land in the center of the circle of Hermits. I blast a Watcher away from Doc, shield Scar from a slice to the side, push a Watcher off the edge of the cliff, and send one into the sky right before it shot Mumbo in the leg. I did this all at one time, using the rest of the energy I had left. It wasn't much, I notice, but I saved some of the Hermits from a quick death. I take cover on the side, putting a hand to my chest and breathing hard. I feel the energy building back up, but it was slow. I take another potion out of my inventory. It was the last one. I use it anyway. All the Watchers were almost gone. I step back out, energy full. I keep the Watchers away from us, not letting them harm the Hermits.

As we kill the last Watcher that attacked us, everyone grinned in victory at each other. There were very few other Watchers that the other admins took care of. I returned Stress' hug.

I hear a strangled gasp of pain behind me. I quickly turn to the source of the sound, releasing Stress. Looking in horror and fear, I see that one of my members got shot in the chest by the Head Watcher. He fell to his knees with his eyes wide. The bad thing: arrow went straight through the Hermits' diamond gear. That would definitely cause a death. The second bad thing... the server was locked. He wouldn't respawn.

The person was Grian. And I may have just watched his perma-death.
