Chapter Nine

A/N New point of view time baby! Why do I get so excited about these things?

Thomas P.O.V (see I told ya)

We were driving away from the airport, James was with his parents and I was with mine in two separate cars. We were heading towards The Washington's house for our annual visit. I was excited to visit my friend Lafayette, one of the few people who share my interest in French culture.

That is of course, because he was born there, but either way I enjoy having someone around like me. James, yeah he's close to me in like every other aspect, but he will never get my obsession with French.

Though I'm excited to see Lafayette, that means I also have to deal with his annoying adopted siblings, Hercules and John, and I don't like either of them. Hercules is always trying to keep Lafayette away from me and John just doesn't like me, so I don't like him. One time they locked me in a closet for three hours! No one noticed until Lafayette heard my screaming and had to let me out.

But I got my revenge. I tied Hercules up with thread from his sewing kit and I cut a huge chunk of John's hair. It was totally worth the week grounding. As I laughed to myself remembering the looks on their faces, my attention was pulled to the house I knew a little to well. Oh boy this should be fun.

The car lurched to a stop. I hopped out the car so I could get James, he was right behind us. When I seen him climb out of his car I hurried to him and grabbed his hand.

"Come on Jemmy." I say pulling him towards the house. When I look back at him he has a weird smile on his face and he looks like he's blushing. Huh, that's odd.

I continue to pull him towards the house when I see that both our parents are already at the door waiting for us. The men, hands full with luggage, the women laughing as the men struggle with the luggage.

When we reach the porch James's mom knocks on the door. A few seconds later it is opened by none other than the bald, thick eyebrow-ed, Mr. Washington himself.

"Eleanor, James, Jane, Peter!" He says greeting our parents.

"George!" James's mother says hugging him. They all give their own greetings and step inside before George sees us.

"Thomas, James, look how much the two of you've grown!" He says with a smile. I made sure I pulled off my best 'I'm an innocent child' smile.

"It's good to see you too Uncle George." Though he is nowhere near my actual uncle, my parents get mad if I don't call him so. Same for James.

As we walk past him into the house I can see that our parents already greeted 'Aunt' Martha, because they were all piled into the kitchen. A few steps into the living room, I can see better into the kitchen and at the table. I can see three familiar faces, some of which I don't like, and then a new face.

Before I can evaluate this I feel a pair of arms wrap around me. When I look up I see one of the few faces I like.

"Lafayette, mon ami!" I say with a smile.

"Thomas! Tu m'as manqué! C'est comme si je ne vous avais pas vu pour toujours!" He says hugging me again.

"I've missed you too." I take a glance behind him. Oh great, his 'brothers' are already glaring. Guess we're starting early this year. And right next to John sat someone new.

Oooo...new kid.
