Freya had one mission. Kill Wonder Woman. Captain America was being left to Sergeant Barnes, or James, as he was often referred to. But Freya was still in charge of getting them both in and out.
"James, let's go." She called out and the pair of them finished suiting up before heading out to the jets.
Alexander Pierce's voice was coming through their comms. "You both know your missions?" He asked them.
"Yes sir." They replied in unison.
"Good, don't fail, you know the consequences." He tapped out after that, meeting up with the council.
Freya and James both flew their jets over to the helicarriers. multiple SHIELD agents along with Captain America and Wonder Woman were trying to stop the launch, Freya and James were ordered to eliminate them all.
Freya landed hers on the second helicarrier. She jumped out quickly and, without looking, shot the two men running up to her on the right. She threw a grenade into one of the jets trying to take off on her left.
The Warrior then snuck up on a group of six. Freya punched two of them before twisting one of their arms round, breaking it and then using the super soldier strength, kicked him into the other agent. She turned to the third on her right while pulling a knife out of her holster, slashing him across the face, kneeing him in the balls and snapping his neck. The other two were taken out easily and the final one, well, she simply but one between his eyes.
As she made it to the bottom of the helicarrier, she was met with Wonder Woman, who turned around. The woman looked shocked to see her and let out a shaky breath.
"Cassie?"
Freya furrowed her brows. "Who the hell is Cassie?" She asked.
Wonder Woman sighed. "Please, let's not fight about this." She told her.
Freya shrugged. "Okay, I'll just kill you then."
"Oh shit." Wonder Woman cursed before the two ran at each other.
Freya threw a punch towards the woman and she fell to the side as it connected with her cheek, another punch on her left and a kick to the shin got Wonder Woman down on her knees. Freya, naively thinking she'd won in seconds, was shocked when the Woman threw an uppercut from where she was knelt.
Freya stumbled backwards before getting angry. Wonder Woman swung her sword at Freya who narrowly missed, another swing caught her but she pushed threw the pain. She pulled out her own knife and leaped towards the Woman, throwing her own knife but missed.
The Warrior couldn't help but think that something was wrong, there was a nagging in the back of her brain. She knew this woman from somewhere, and not just because she was Wonder Woman. She knew the name Cassie from somewhere, it felt...personal?
Being kicked to the glass floor and off the railing was what snapped Cassie out of her daydream. When Wonder Woman walked over to her, Freya hooked her foot around her ankle, pulling the Woman down to the floor with her. She pulled a katana from her back which narrowly clashed with the Woman's gold arm protectors.
After some skilled tossing and turning, Freya managed to turn the tides in her favour, pinning the Woman down on the floor and holding a knife to her throat while straddling her.
"You're too late, Captain America's already finished our mission," Wonder Woman told her with a slight victory smile. "But if you need to finish yours, then go ahead. At least your nightmare will finally be over."
Something made Freya hesitate. She had the chance to slit her throat right there, but she didn't. Would her nightmare really be over? Or would it just continue to haunt her?
Before she could even think, the helicarriers began firing at each other, throwing Freya off of Wonder Woman. For a moment, they looked at each other, wondering if they were going to keep fighting. But they didn't.
They both looked at the third helicarrier and saw Captain America fall from it with James following.
Freya dropped her katana and jumped in without hesitating with the Woman following her. Getting her and James out alive, to Freya, that was her most important mission. She landed in the water before noticing that James had safely made it out, dragging Captain America to the shore.
The last Freya saw of Wonder Woman was when she ran over to check on Captain America. Instead, Freya began to follow James into the woods.
Until she lost him. "Ah fuck." She cursed quietly.
What the hell was she supposed to do now?

It had been a week now since the helicarrier incident and one or two recent memories had come back to Freya. Her real name was Cassie and Freya was just her middle name, and she had a family New Orleans.
That was it. Cassie was now currently sat on a bench in a park in Washington, just people watching. She had visited the Smithsonian, but it didn't help all that much. Maybe she was looking at the wrong section.
"You look lonely." A voice came from behind her.
"Then why don't you come sit and join me?" She asked, without even having to look back. James, or Bucky as he was known, sat down next to her. Cassie chuckled. "What do we even do now?"
Bucky sighed. "I'm going to try and get my memories back," He told her. "But I think it would be better if we did it separately." Her head turned to him. "I know I loved you, maybe I still do. But I don't feel like my old self. Until I do, I can't give you a proper answer."
Cassie nodded. "I know. I don't feel like myself either. I think I still love you, but I am not really sure of what love really is right now," She explained. "I know we'll see each other again, though."
"Yeah, we have a tendency to run into each other," he agreed before they both stood up. Bucky grabbed the back of her neck and kissed her. "I'll see you again, my love."
"As will I soldier."
And with that, they both went their separate ways.
a/n: sorry it's been a while but I watched Thunderbolts and suddenly got motivated bc I LOVED it. Bucky deserved more screen time tho. anyways,
xoxo, gossip girl 💋
