Cassandra Mikaelson was never one to hope for miracles, simply because she didn't believe in them. But that was before one of her best friends went missing, now she had never hoped for a miracle more.
It had been a few hours since Bruce and Steve arrived and everyone had been working non-stop to find Loki or the Tesseract. The only person who had kept Cassie's spirits up was Steve, his bright personality was a blessing at times.
"We got a hit!" Agent Sitwell called out, snapping Cassie out of her daydream and un-looping her arm from Steve's. "A 67% match. Wait. Cross match, 79%."
Cassie walked over to him. "Where?" She asked.
"Stuttgart, Germany. 28 Konidgstrasse," Sitwell read out. "He's not exactly hiding."
Cassie and Steve looked at each other briefly before Fury caught their attention. "Captain, you're up," He told them. Cassie and Steve looked at each other once more before moving to suit up.
The battle was about to begin.

Cassie's new suit was quite simple and honestly, just the way she liked it. It was all black. She had a long sleeved black crop top on, high waisted black cargo trousers and black boots with thick soles, making her look slightly taller. She also had a mask on that only covered her moth and nose. Cassie's two Katana's were strapped onto her back, so she could pull them out easily when needed, and her two guns were strapped on her belt on either side of her waist.
"Hey Nat," Cassie said as she entered the quinjet and sat beside the red haired woman in the co-pilot seat.
Nat looked her up and down for a second. "They made you a new suit," She stated in disbelief. "That's not fair. Why can't I have a new suit?"
"I don't know, go ask Fury. I didn't ask for this," Cassie told her while strapping herself in. "Shouldn't we be going by now?"
"Yes we should!" Steve shouted as he closed the jet doors. Both women rolled their eyes before taking off and heading straight to Germany.
With the Quinjet moving faster than it probably should, it only took them a few hours to reach Germany where they saw a crowd of people kneeling on the floor in front of, you guessed it, Loki.
"Steve! Get moving he's about to shoot that old guy!" Cassie shouted just as Steve landed in front of the elderly man and blocked Loki's blast from the staff. Cassie groaned, "Here comes the hero speech."
Just as she predicted, Steve started walking towards him and making a speech. "You know, the last time I was in Germany and saw a man standing above everybody else, we ended up disagreeing."
Understatement of the year, Cassie thought and laughed to herself.
"The soldier," Loki breathed as he stood up. "The man out of time."
"I'm not the one who's out of time." Nat and Cassie made that their cue to bring the Quinjet into view.
Cassie cleared her throat and spoke through the speaker, "Hey Loki it's Cassie, do me a favour will you? Drop the weapon and stand down."
That's when it started. Loki began firing his magic from the staff towards the Quinjet, causing Nat to suddenly move them side to side. The two women tried to get the jet in a place where they could shoot Loki but it clearly wasn't happening.
"Guy's all over the place." Natasha said in worry, then Shoot To Thrill by AC/DC began playing through the speakers.
"Agent Romanoff, Aunt Cass, miss me?" Tony Starks voice came through their comms and Cassie couldn't help but smile.
"Don't I always?" Cassie replied. He then flew into view and landed right in front of Loki who, weirdly, surrendered immediately.

The ride back to base was eerily quiet. "Is he saying anything?" Fury asked through the comm links.
Nat and Cassie looked at each other before Nat replied with a simple, "No."
"Just get him here," Fury demanded. "We're low on time."
Cassie sighed before climbing out of her seat and moving to where Steve and Tony were. "Has he said anything since I last checked on you guys?" She asked them both and they shook their heads.
"I don't like this," Steve whispered to them.
Tony looked at him. "What? Rock of Ages giving up so easily?"
"I don't remember it being that easy," Steve shot back at him.
"It usually isn't this easy," Cassie interrupted them. "This guy packs a wallop."
"Still, you two a pretty spry for older fellows aren't you?" Tony asked, fully turning to them. "Cassie, I know your thing. You're a vampire. Captain, I got nothing. What's your thing, pilates?"
"What?" Steve asked. Cassie hadn't caught him up on everything just yet.
"It's like calisthenics," Tony explained, a hint of sarcasm in his tone. "You might've missed a couple things, you know, doing time as a capsicle."
Steve hesitated. "Fury didn't tell me he was calling you in."
"Yeah, there's a lot of things Fury doesn't tell you," Tony muttered and Cassie could only nod her head.
"He's got a point. Fury doesn't tell us much," The blonde intervened.
Suddenly, lightning in the clouds came out of nowhere. "Hey, Nat, where's this coming from?" Cassie asked her.
"I don't know!"
Cassie and Steve turned around to see nervousness take over Loki's face. "What's the matter? Scared of a little lightening?"
"I'm not overly fond of what follows," Loki told him and Cassie clicked on immediately. The blonde woman groaned and the two men just looked at her.
"I know what's going on," She told them, annoyance written all over her face. Loki just smirked, knowing she knew what he was talking about. Or rather who.
There were two loud bangs from the top of the jet which shook the entire vehicle, causing them all to stumble. Tony placed his helmet on, opened the ramp and looked outside. No one there. Then Thor landed there, but next to him was a woman Cassie didn't recognise. A woman with lightly tanned skin and dark brown hair.
Cassie locked eyes with the woman, who smiled at her knowingly. She knew the woman from somewhere, Cassie just couldn't put her finger on it. Before they knew it, Thor and the woman grabbed Loki and left.
"For Christs sake." Cassie complained, knowing they would have to go out there and get him back.
"Now there's them guys," Tony mumbled under his breath.
"Two more Asgardian's?" Nat called out from the front.
Steve stood up quickly. "Think they're friendly?"
Cassie scoffed, "Doubt it."
"It doesn't matter," Tony stated. "If they free Loki or kill him, the tesseracts lost."
"Stark, we need a plan of attack!" Steve shouted over the wind as Tony walked to fly away.
"I have a plan," He looked back at them slightly. "Attack."
Cassie sighed over dramatically. "I'm getting too old for this." Tony blasted off the ship and Cassie and Steve ran to the parachutes.
Nat looked back at them. "I'd sit this one out guys."
"I don't see how we can," Steve replied as they strapped on their parachutes.
"These guys come from legend, they're basically gods!" Nat told them as Cassie tightened her straps.
"There's only one God ma'am," Steve said politely. "And I'm pretty sure he doesn't dress like that."
Steve grabbed his shield and jumped out of the plane. Cassie walked over to the edge and contemplated whether or not to stay on board, but Cassie wasn't an idiot. She had to do this.
"Here goes nothing," She whispered to herself before jumping into the clouds.
