"So what happened to your mother after you turned?" Bucky asked after a lunch break.
Cassie looked uncomfortable so Astrid answered, "Their father killed their mother."
There were shocked looks on everyone's faces, "Why?" they all asked.
Cassie shifted in her seat, "When Astrid's husband, my older brother Klaus, made his first human kill, it triggered his werewolf gene. Which is only triggered when you kill an innocent. It turned out my mother had, had an affair with on of the villagers. Klaus was not my father's son."
"Damn," Bucky said softly, only Cassie heard him.
"She tried to make it right, she put the hybrid curse on him to suppress his werewolf side and she turned her back on him. But Mikael's greatest weakness as a human was pride. As a vampire that was magnified, he went on a rampage and killed half the village. Then he came home and killed her."
"Your father killed your mother?" Stark asked, quickly leaning forward.
Cassie turned to him, "He said she broke his heart so he would break hers. He tore it from her chest as Nik watched. Afterwards my father took off in a rage, and the rest of my family scattered. Nik and Astrid stayed behind with me and my sister Rebekah so we could bury her. He knew we had to say goodbye to our mother," And this point Cassie was sitting down. This story always took a toll on her.
1000 years ago
"I know you think she hated you, Niklaus, but she did not," Rebekah said to them all with tears in her eyes while Astrid had her arms round the two girls.
"She was just afraid," Cassie told him.
Astrid went and stood next to her husband, "I'm sorry she turned her back on you. I will never do that."
"We won't either," Rebekah told him, speaking for Cassie as well.
"Nor will I," When they turned around, the last person they expected to see was Elijah. All of them stood around the grave and held hands for comfort.
"We stick together as one," Cassie told them. "Always and forever."
"We stuck by that vow for 1000 years," Cassie finished. "Always and forever."

A couple of hours had now passed, Astrid had left and Cassie was standing outside by herself when Bucky joined her.
"Needed some peace and quiet?" He asked.
Cassie smiled. "Yes," She laughed and it was music to his ears. "Incase you're not aware, you're all very loud."
There was a few minutes of silence before he spoke, "Why didn't you tell me or Steve any of that?"
"Because when I tell people they usually become afraid, leave me and then I have no one by my side," She explained, still looking up at the stars.
"I'll always be by your side," Bucky assured her.
"Promise?"
"Promise."
Once again there was a few moments of silence before Cassie spoke up, "The view is beautiful tonight," She breathed out.
"Yeah, it is," Bucky was not looking at the view, but her. Cassie was a bit shocked when she found out he was looking at her instead, but she paused for a minute. Then she kissed him.
And he kissed her back. It changed from what was a soft and tender kiss, to rough and passionate, both of them needing each other. When they pulled apart, they were both breathing heavily and smiled at each other.
"I've been waiting for that since the moment I left for England." He chuckled as their foreheads pressed together.
"Who knows? Maybe I have too."
They spent the rest of the night in their room simply laughing and having fun, not knowing the trouble that was headed their way.

Cassie was just sitting at her desk reading a book, waiting for Bucky, when Peggy came storming in talking about Steve.
"Steve is an idiot." Peggy declared as she paced around the room.
Cassie placed her book on the table, "What did he do this time?"
"I went to go find him because Howard needed him, and I caught him kissing the blonde office lady outside the Colonel's office!"
"Steve you idiot," Cassie groaned and ran her hands through her hair. "Come on, let's go find him."
Cassie dragged Peggy all through the base until they found Steve with Howard, "Did you find a shield?" Cassie asked him and he showed her a big, vibranium made shield with a proud smile on his face.
"You quite finished Mr Stark?" Peggy asked. "I'm sure the captain has some unfinished business."
"What do you think?" Steve asked the two girls with a smile on his face.
Peggy quickly grabbed a gun from the table and shot the shield four times, "Yes! I think it works."
"That woman is bloody fantastic," Cassie laughed as she turned to the two men. Two men in shock. As the boys watched Peggy strut away, Steve handed Howard a piece of paper.
"I had some idea's about the uniform," Steve told him.
Howard took it from him, "Whatever you want pal."

Each time the Howling Commandoes went on a mission, Bucky would always come to see Cassie before he left. This time wasn't any different. Cassie was working in her lab when she felt a presence behind her.
"Bucky, I'm a vampire. I can tell when someone's behind me." Cassie smirked as Bucky walked in and huffed.
"We're leaving soon, thought I'd come see my best girl." He smiled and kissed her.
"I know I say this every time," Cassie said as she fixed his jacket. "But come home safe, okay?"
"Yes ma'am," He mock saluted, and hugged and kissed her once more. "I don't know what I ever did without you, you know?"
Cassie shook her head, "Stop being so bloody cheesy!"
"I can't, it's part of my charm doll," He laughed, and they stood in silence for a minute as they hugged. "I should probably go now."
"You probably should," She nodded. "And tell Steve I said bye will you?" Bucky nodded before walking off.
Cassie watched him as he walked over to the others and they drove out of camp, Cassie wasn't worried. She never was, because she knew he would keep his promise and come home.
Mission, after mission, more Hydra bases were being destroyed. Meaning Schmidt had nowhere to go and the SSR had the advantage. Cassie herself had gone on a few of the missions, but she got the most kills because she could simply just rip their heart out. Which she enjoyed very much.
When she wasn't on missions however, Cassie and the Colonel and Peggy would watch the tapes of them on missions. She enjoyed it especially when the camera zoomed in on the picture of Peggy in Steve's compass.
A few weeks had passed now and most of the bases where destroyed, but today, they were going on their biggest mission ever so Cassie and Bucky decided to share the night together before he left. Bucky tried to sneak out but because of Cassie's vampire hearing, it was practically impossible.
"Bucky Barnes, were you going to leave without saying goodbye." Cassie yawned and stretched.
"I didn't want to wake you," Bucky confessed. "And besides, I think we had a vary good goodbye last night."
Cassie blushed and Bucky laughed, "I just, I have a bad feeling about this Bucky."
"I won't be gone long," Bucky assured her. "I promise, I'll take you dancing when I get back."
Bucky had been wanting to take her dancing for weeks and Cassie wasn't opposed to the idea.
"I know it's just," Cassie sighed and sat up as he sat down. "This is one of the most dangerous missions you've ever been on. I need my best boy to come home."
Bucky sighed before confusing Cassie by taking off his dog tags, "Take these. Take these as insurance that I'll come back. I love you."
Cassie sighed, "I love you too." She kissed him goodbye and watched him walk out of the room. Cassie had a very bad feeling about this.
