Chapter 7: CLASH! The Quarterfinals Commence

As Hagakure was being taken to recovery girl due to Bakugo's last attack Present Mic had to make an announcement

Present Mic: ok folks before the quarterfinals start we will have a 5 minute intermission for the time being so sit back and relax for a bit while we take care of some things

(in the waiting room)

While the participants of both schools are resting Yamoshi started to tap his feet at a fast rate

Inasa: yo you alright and what's with that face

Yamoshi: (quivering) I have to use the bathroom

Inasa: if that's the case why don't you just go

Yamoshi: but isn't quarterfinals starting?

Inasa: they're having a 5 minute intermission so you have enough time to go before your match starts

Yamoshi: oh then I'll go right now thanks for the info man

He starts to leave to the bathroom as he waddles like a duck and holding his pants as everyone in the room looks at him

Inasa: (oh Yamoshi I don't understand how you work sometimes)

Onjriro: I don't get it that guy is strong yet he's so strange

Inasa: it's just the way he is, sometimes I don't understand it either but Yamoshi is the living definition of more than meets the eye

(2 minutes later)

Yamoshi: (exits the bathroom) phew that bathroom break was much need!

As Yamoshi was about to walk back to the waiting room he was stopped by a strange figure who was wearing a black cloak with a hoodie covering their face and the only thing visible on their covered face was the glare of a pair glasses they had on

???: So you must be Son Yamoshi I've heard a lot about ya

Yamoshi: ( in a cautious tone) Yeah..... have we met before?

???: no we haven't but I do however know your Grandmother Pan I'm actually a good friend of hers

Yamoshi: hmm.... is that so

???: yes indeed

Silence covers the air as the two stare at each other for about a minute as Yamoshi gives off a face of untrusting and concern to the strange figure

Yamoshi: well I should get going my match is about to start any minute now

???: (pushes glasses up) well if that's the case then it was an honor to meet the great great grandson of the saiyan Goku and good luck on your match I'm sure we'll meet again soon

Yamoshi: (eyes widen a little after that) ....thanks

Yamoshi turns around and walks back to the waiting room and starts to think about what just occurred

Yamoshi:( who is that guy, how does he know about Grandpa Goku and I know for sure grandma wouldn't tell anything about our family let alone us being saiyans to a suspicious guy like that not to mention his Ki felt odd to me)

He arrives back to the waiting room and tells himself to brush it off til the tournament was over so he can really think about this encounter

Present Mic: thank you folks for your patience now then LETS KEEP THIS BOAT ROWING WITH THE QUARTERFINALS!!!!

The crowd roars in hype as the best has yet to come out of this tournament

Present Mic: OOOOOOOOOHHHHHHH YEAHH I FEED OF THAT EXCITEMENT NOW THEN THE FIRST MATCH OF THE QUARTERFINALS IS SON YAMOSHI VS FUMIKAGE TOKOYAMI!!!

Yamoshi: alright let's do this

Yamoshi began to walk to the stage as Tokoyami soon followed as the were walking Camie cheered at Yamoshi so loud that everyone in the whole arena heard

Camie: good luck Yamoshi you're totes a babe out there!

After that yamoshi rubbed the back of his head as he felt a bit embarrassed to what she said but not fully understanding the slang

As for ochako she didn't understand why but she felt a bit conflicted and a little jealous that Camie made Yamoshi's face turn slightly red after what she said

Present Mic: ok are both fighters ready?

Both of them nod in agreement as the crowd screams in excitement

Present mic: alright then Begin!

Tokoyami: Dark shadow

Yamoshi: heh now I get to see this thing up close

As dark shadow roared it began to rush towards Yamoshi but the shadow couldn't touch the young saiyan as he was completely dodging its attacks, Jumping around the stage getting a feel of the shadowy figure's speed and fighting style

Dark shadow then once again tries to rush to Yamoshi but this time he blocks its attack with his arms crossed then counters with a jumping back kick pushing dark shadow back. Yamoshi now starting to show a little more of what he can do then launches forward and throws a series of punches at it with a little more speed and force than his last fight

(Like this but he's in his base form)

As this is going on Class 1-A could not believe what they were seeing

Iida: incredible his speed and power, I've never seen such skill before and he's just a first year  just like us

Izuku: and the way he fights with accuracy and precision it's amazing, calling him skilled is just an understatement

Todoroki: yeah but I get the feeling that he's holding back by a lot like we're just seeing the tip of the ice berg

Kirishima: yeah, what do you think vegeta?

Vegeta ignores him as he has his eyes locked on to the fight studying every last bit of it with a stern look on his face

Kirishima: (looks at Midoriya) guess this is very important

Bakugo: (eyes glowing red) Who does this bandana wearing bastard think he is.thinking that he's better than me I'll show him that I'm the best out of these losers

Dark shadow groans in pain as it couldn't take any more punches as it starts to retreat back to Tokoyami as he was a bit out of breath that he couldn't control dark shadow due to the punches it received. Yamoshi then lands a small jab punch to Tokoyami which inflicted a lot of damage to him making him stumble

Tokoyami then tries one more plan to win by releasing dark shadow again and makes it attack.Yamoshi then tries a roundhouse kick but dark shadow then falsely attacks and goes around Yamoshi like a snake

Yamoshi: huh?!

Dark shadow grabs the young warrior and puts him on a hold and Starts to squeeze him like a Snake

Yamoshi: Gaaaagh!

He tries to free himself with his tail but it was no use the grip was too strong

Tokoyami: NOW Dark shadow throw him out

Dark shadow tries to throw him out of bounds but Yamoshi wouldn't move a muscle as he starts to float off the ground and go up in the air shocking the crowd and the 1-A except for vegeta, his family and Vegeta's family

1-A/Crowd: HE'S FLYING!?

Yamoshi then smirks at at Tokoyami and flexes his body with such force that dark shadow dispersed which allowed him to be freed

Yamoshi: woah that was a close one, now then let's start round two!

Tokoyami: w-what no way is this guy for real

Tokoyami then falls to his knees as Yamoshi was confused to why he was doing this

Tokoyami: (in a disappointed tone) I can't go on any longer I forfeit

Yamoshi: what?

Present mic: Oh uh Tokoyami has forfeited that makes Son the winner

Yamoshi: hey why'd you forfeit?

Tokoyami: isn't it obvious our gap in power is far too great I'd never be able to defeat you

Yamoshi: why does that matter you could've fought til the end there's no shame in losing

Tokoyami: well it makes no difference

Yamoshi: no, you're wrong giving up is a far worse outcome than losing, it just shows how vulnerable you are and be honest if I had to choose to give up or get my arm ripped off then I'd rather have my arm ripped off

Tokoyami: how so?

Yamoshi: Winning is cool and all but you really don't learn much especially if you're winning everything fairly easily all it does is just boosts someone's ego and causes bad habits. Yeah I get it losing kinda sucks but it makes us focus in our flaws and that gives us the desire to improve, to get even stronger but giving up like that means that you're unwilling to improve

Tokoyami eyes widen as he remembers the time when he lost control of dark shadow as he was powerless to stop it without the help of his classmates

Yamoshi: (classic goku smile) So don't be such a Debbie downer I can tell you worked hard to get were you are and don't let someone stronger  intimidate you and give it your all cause you know what they say "life is like a sewer, what you get out of it depends on what you put into it"

Tokoyami: odd choices of words but I get what you're going at.

Yamoshi: oh good I didn't really get some of things I said, I just quoted my grandma but I did know that it was something you needed to hear (laughs while rubbing the back of his head )

(Author: yeah I know he rubs his head a lot cut me some slack)

Tokoyami: you're a weird one Son Yamoshi I give you my thanks

Yamoshi: (turns around and starts to walk away) let's fight again another time once you get stronger but imma keep on training so be ready

Tokoyami:  I'll be looking forward to it then

(Moments later)

Jimmy: Sorry for the delay folks had to take care of a kid WHO'S NOT MINE KAROL.....ahem anyway the next match is Izuku Midoriya vs Tenya Iida

Both combatants walked to the stage as the crowd calling Midoriya Monster energy due to his lighting and hair having the same color as the drink

Iida: Midoriya I'm aiming for the top so I will beat you

Izuku: same here Iida I'm not gonna hold anything back

Jimmy: well sure looks like both are ready to go so BEGIN!!

Izuku activates OFA as Iida heats up his engine calfs

The two launch at each other clashing their legs together causing a small spark of to appear from impact the two jump back keep their distance

Iida then rushes forward to Izuku and lands a hit on him with a windmill kick followed by another kick to the chest knocking a bit of wind out of him. Deku then quickly recovers and flicks his finger releasing a gust of wind at Iida which makes him stumble as Izuku jumps and does a dive kick causing Iida to take the hit

Todoroki: guess the training payed off after all

Kirishima: sure did just look at those two go

Bakugo: hmph Deku only improved a little it still wouldn't be enough to beat me

Kirshima: who knows he might make you run for your money man

Bakugo: watch what you say porcupine hair

Iida: you've improve a lot Midoriya I'm impressed

Izuku: I should say the same thing to you you're incredible Iida

Iida: I'm just getting started RECIPRO BURST

ith even more speed than before Iida moves around the stage like a pin ball making it hard for Izuku to keep track of his movements he then jumps up with OFA to see if he can get a better view of Iida's movements but Iida jumps behind him and kicks him midair like a soccer ball to the ground as Izuku grunts in pain and barley saves himself from falling out of bounds, with a moment to recover Iida then unleashes a a furry of kicks to midoriya as he tries to block them. Midoriya then uses a St. Louis smash to make the ground to force Iida to stop and jump back. Then Izuku then notices a something with Iida that could give him an advantage

Izuku: ( his legs are steaming they can't take it any longer and he seems to not notice maybe if I can make him over use his engine long enough then that will be my chance at winning)

Izuku then powers up back to full cowling but at a lower percentage this time so he would over do it and break himself then starts to move around Iida like what he did time but still slow enough for him to chase him around

Everytime Iida got close izuku increase his speed by a little then back to force Iida to rev his engine more

Izuku: a little more

Iida: you can't jump around forever Midoriya

At them at instant Iida felt a sharp pain in his legs he looked down at them they were red and smoke was coming out of them

Iida: my engine! I was so confident of my results in training that I haven't realized I was using too much power in short bursts that I overheated them

Izuku: nows my chance!

Izuku then launches forward to Iida and punches him in the face ringing him out

Present mic: What a Plus Ultra finish Iida loses by ring out that makes Midoriya the winner!!!

Izuku: I-I did it!

All might: (you never cease to surprise me Young Midoriya I'm proud of you)

Iida: you're truly incredible Midoriya it's an honor to be defeated by someone as amazing as you (bows)

Izuku: no you did great if you would've known that you were overheating then I would've lost for sure

Iida: well, probably but this only means that I have to keep on improving then no matter what so I can become a great hero like my brother

Izuku: right!

They both gave a thumbs up to each other and headed back to the waiting room

Ochako: you two did awesome out there way to go guys!

Iida: thank you Uraraka really appreciate it

Izuku: yeah same here!

Present mic: ALL RIGHT FOLKS LETS KEEP ON ROLLING WITH THE 3RD MATCH OF THE QUARTERFINALS AND IT LOOKS LIKE TO BE INASA YOARASHI VS VEGETA JR.!!!

Vegeta while folding his arms starts to walk out of the waiting room as Inasa was talking to Yamoshi

Kirishima: (clenches fist) hey Vegeta break a leg out there man

Vegeta: (smirks) hmph will do (walks away)

Kirshima: woah what's up with him today he's usually quite and grumpy but now he's talking more than usual it's like he's a completely other person

Izuku: you think it's because that Yamoshi is here

Kirishima: maybe he did say that he was his lifelong rival so they probably have some type of score to settle

Izuku: ( and with the way vegeta acts around him all mad and stuff it sorta reminds how Kacchan acts around me maybe me and Yamoshi probably has something in common)

(Moments later)

Both Inasa and vegeta are now at the stage prepared to begin their battle

Inasa:(yamoshi told me that this guy is no joke so I better keep my guard up)

Jimmy: well folks and people watching at home it looks like these two are itching to fight so with further ado BEGIN!!!

Vegeta: you're friends with Yamoshi right then you should know that I'm not a softie like that clown is, so you better go all out because IM going to kick your ass
