Day 4 (Part 1)

Mousesnarl woke to a orange and red sunrise that reminded her of blood. She turned over to see Barbwire pacing back and forth looking through the tree's that were now bare due to the cold. This only made it easier to hunt cats down. Mousesnarl stretched and gathered her spear and the bag of food. She'd taken first watch and felt fully rested now.

"Come on we have to go. Get the other bag." Mousesnarl ordered.

"Who made you leader?" Barbwire suddenly snarled.

"Excuse me?" Mousesnarl stepped up closer to Barbwire.

"Just because Hailscar died doesn't mean you automatically become leader because he had no bad blood with you. In fact Hailscar would of let me kill that fox dung tom who killed Ripplenewt!" Barbwire seethed through her teeth in anger.

"So what you want to be leader? Miss emotions control my actions. Oh Ripplenewt take me in your arms! You only killed one cat that day and got beaten by a lower district cat all because you were so weak to fall right into Ripplenewts seduction. You're so blinded you couldn't realize he was just playing with your emotions! He tried the same thing with me the night you two came back. He didn't love yo-"

Suddenly Mousesnarl could feel Barbwires claws on her, but she'd seen it come she ducked down and threw off the bag of food and held the spear to Barbwire's throat. Mousesnarl laughed.

"You can't actually believe you could defeat me. I got eleven moons against you." Mousesnarl warned.

"Just makes you more rusty old she-cat." Barbwire seethed.

Mousesnarl glared pushing the spear closer against Barbwires throat.

"Take the bag and go kill that tom, but you're just wasting your time. When you're being attacked and need help don't come running back to me." Mousesnarl growled.

Barbwire stared Mousesnarl down before jerking away from the spear and bending down grabbing her bag and machete before stalking off she turned around glaring at Mousesnarl.

"I won't ever need help from an elder." She spat before jogging off back to the site where Ripplenewt had met his end.

Badgerstrike woke holding his leg in pain. He had collapsed by some bramble bushes sometime in the night, but he knew he was being hunted and that his hunter wouldn't rest long. He got up as slow as he could, biting his tongue in pain. Once on his hindpaws he breathed out and began walking towards a large landscape of thorns he'd spotted. If he could slide his body under and through to the middle he'd have a safe hiding spot for now.

As Badgerstrike walked on he could feel himself dizzing from the blood lose. He grabbed hold of a tree as he stumbled.

"Badgerstrike?" A voice rang from somewhere above.

Badgerstrike's head reeled. Stonepelt? Was his mother calling from Starclan? No it couldn't be. Was it Mousetuft? She wasn't dead or was she? Badgerstrike kept on stumbling through the forest.

"Badgerstrike." The she-cats voice was soft like honey.

Badgerstike fell onto his back looking up into the clear blue sky. He saw a gray and orange she-cat perched in the trees. Silverstorm? Now he knew he was dying.

The she-cat jumped down from branch to branch until she was standing above him, brushing his tousled hair out of his hair. After that moment her meows were muffled by his ringing ears. He felt her lift him up and somewhere heard her say jump. He could feel his hind legs screeching in pain but he did so. His vision was getting more and more blurry until he felt like he was flying and he was out.

Biohazard woke with a jerk when she heard claws scraping the cave floor. Her eyes focused on the heavy white tom, Berrytuft. He was rising from his nap and seemed in better condition than the night before.

"So what's our plan?" Biohazard asked cheerfully.

"What do you mean?" Berrytuft looked confused by her question.

"To make it to the end." Biohazard meowed.

"Excuse me? Is this just a game to you? Cats have died! There is no 'we'. I'm better now thank you for the help but now I prefer to be on my own. " The tom picked up his sword and began to head out of the cave.

Biohazard was struck at the whole change of attitude, just last night they were laughing around the fire. Biohazard raced to the entrance of the stone cave blocking him from the exit.

"Wait! Just wait a minute. I saved you! You wouldn't still be here without me. I'm not saying you owe me but don't let me spend my last days alive all alone." Biohazard blurted out.

Berrytuft raised his eyebrow at her. His warm yellow eyes reflected on her bright yellow ones. The two cats stood there staring into each others eyes. The cool winds finding their way into the cave made their fur blow in the breeze. Biohazard shivered from the cold air but Berrytuft remained still as a rock before turning his head away.

"Okay so here's the plan then if we're going to stay together till the end. I die. If it comes down to it you will kill me. The capital will have you killed if you try any tricks. But for now we hunt together. We don't leave each other for nothing." Berrytuft paused to think. "A fellow Dreader is still out there, Badgerstrike. But most of the Terrors are still alive so we need to find out what they're up to and stay far away from it. In fact we don't leave this cave unless we're hunting or making dirt."

"And firewood," Biohazard interjected softly.

Berrytuft looked at her and nodded before turning back to the the burnt logs that had once been a burning and alive fire the night before. Biohazard turned and looked out of the cave into the snowy mist realizing how much harder things would be now.

Badgerstrike felt a paw prod him in the back and he jerked awake and looked around. His eyes shot open and focused immediately on a familiar set of sunset yellow eyes.

"Silverstorm...am I dead?" He asked the young she-cat.

"No but you're about to fall out of the tree if you keep rolling!" The she cat giggled.

"Silverstorm you're alive!?" Badgertsrike immediately sat up but then regretted it.

A sharp pain shot through his thigh and he seethed out in pain, but still was in to much shock by the revelation that Silverstorm was alive.

"Wha- how how are you here?! I thought Ripplenewt killed you?! What...why are we in a tree and what is this white stuff on my thigh?" Badgerstrike meowed a mile a minute.

"Hush. That is cobweb infused with some other herbs to heal your wound." Silverstorm explained.

"Wow how lucky am I to find you." Badgerstrike chuckled.

"What happened anyways? To your leg." Silverstorm asked.

"I killed Ripplenewt because I thought he killed you. Then Barbwire slashed it open with her machete." Badgerstrike answered.

"Where is everyone?" Silverstorm kept questioning.

"The Cornicopia turned into a huge lake and froze over...we lost Snowfrost. Then Berrytuft lost hope," Badgerstike paused. "Owleye died."

Silverstorm sighed and shook her head.

"What happened to you though?" It was Badgerstrikes turn for questions.

"Well you were right. Ripplenewt tried to come for me but I got away. The last winner of the games, Shadowfur rescued me. She taught me how to climb trees and just disappeared... I saw her face in the sky and then I found you." Silverstorm meowed.

Badgerstike nodded looking at her.

"We're going to win the games Silverstorm." Badgerstrike finally announced.

"We?" Silverstorm queried.
