Day 3 (Part 2)
THERE WILL BE A PART 3 RELEASED SOON! HOPE YOU ENJOY!
Silverpaw scooped her paw into a can of tuna and looked up staring off into the forest. She didn't feel safe with Flamewing. He'd gone completely crazy, but Silverpaw couldn't blame him. Most cats who decided to learn herbs and medicine cat stuff would eventually go crazy. Silverpaw remembered her sister telling her story's of long ago when cats still only walked on all fours and the humans hadn't genetically enhanced them to walk on two legs. Medicine cats had spoken to dead cats in their dreams or had visions. But then the cats turned on the humans and created their own utopia, but some cats thought humans and cats could coexist peacefully. That's how the games started. Humans were the first brought into the games but that only angered the cats who wanted to co exist so that's when the President entered two cats from every district and that's when the revolution unfortunately ended. And medicine cats lost their gift, they would have thousands of dead cats approach them at moments the medicine cats went through too much stress which would eventually drive them manic for the rest of their lives. If they even lived long after that.
Silverpaw sighed knowing she was on her own now but couldn't make up her mind to stay or go.
From the corner of Silverpaws eyes she spotted Amberrain approach from the forest, her tail was completely chopped off. Shrewtail and Larkwing raced over to her. Shrewtail called to Flamewing who was staring into the trees speaking fast. He eventually snapped out of it and padded over to Shrewtail.
As he passed Silverpaw, Silverpaw noticed a white pelt moving along the shadows of the brambles towards Ravenpaw.
"Hey-" Silverpaw shouted but a huge explosion of dirt in gravel exploded in front of her blinding her eyes and making her ears ring.
Flamewing yowled in pain as a burning sensation spread through his entire body and he thrashed in pain as he felt his body fall and everything around him became black with a single tiny white light getting farther away as he fell.
Flamewing looked to his left and saw Silverpaw's sister hunched over in the corner of their districts public square. Screams of sorrow escaped her mouth then tears fell from her eyes and turned into flames that wrapped around her. Flamewing reached his paw out for her but she became engulfed in flames that disappeared into nothing.
THUMP!
Flamewing winced as his body hit the ground hard. He looked up and saw only fog and deep black trees. From the fog emerged a dark brown tabby with a sneer planted on his face. Once the tom stood in front of Flamewing he leaned his head down and opened his mouth to an evil grin, his breath smelled of crowfood.
"Welcome to the Dark Forest my friend." His voice was pure evil.
Flamewing shook his head fast. "No, no I don't belong here!" Flamewing shouted putting his paws to his head. Voices flooded his head again.
You're evil! You belong with us now. You let Stonepelt die, you basically killed her yourself. One of us! Evil! Should've killed that apprentice! She only made you weak! Killer!
"Funny how the medicine cats always become the sick ones in the end," The dark forest tom sneered.
Flamewing looked to the sky. It was all black, the small speck of white had vanished. He looked to the ground his emotions began to vanish from his body, leaking out like a dark oil as the voices got louder. Flamewing fought to hold onto Silverpaws sisters image. He closed his eyes his head filling with pain until his eyes opened reflecting a dark red.
"I am sick." Flamewing met eyes with the dark forest cat and stood taller. "I'm a dark forest cat."
Ravenpaw jumped out of his pelt as grenades filled the air going off all around them. He went to run but teeth caught his scruff and suddenly he was lifted up and taken through a patch if brambles.
"Run! Attack! Its an attack!" Ravenpaw could hear Shrewtail shouting in the distance.
Ravenpaw jumped to his paws unsheathing his claws ready to face his attacker when he realized the white and gray cat was from his district. It was Cloudfern, her eyes were packed with concern.
"Where's Silverpaw?" She snapped peeking through the brambles into the clearing that was now clouded by dirt and debris.
"I-I dont-" Ravenpaws mind was racing.
Had Cloudfern initiated the attack? Was she his enemy or savior?
Before he had a chance to ask Cloudfern dove into the clouded meadow, her pelt disappearing from view.
More explosions went off so loud Ravenpaw couldn't tell if any canons had gone off yet or not.
Larkwing ducked as explosions went off left and right. Shrewtail and Amberrain at his side as they maneuvered towards a boulder to hide behind.
"Bloody devil where is Flamewing?" Shrewtail spat peeking over the boulder as another explosion went off.
The whole meadow was clouded over with dirt. None of them had been injured except Amberrain who's left ear tip had been blown away somehow.
Larkwing suddenly realized Silverpaw wasn't with them.
"Silverpaw," Larkwing gasped and ran out from behind the boulder.
"Larkwing! Forget her remember what you said!" Shrewtail shouted.
Except Larkwing ignored him. All he could think of was his sister all alone and dying alone with no one to ease her pain.
Cloudfern bounded into the debris. She couldn't let the Dreaders allow Silverpaw to die. She was only an apprentice.
"Silverpaw! Silverpaw!" Cloudfern called trying to remember what the apprentice looked like.
Suddenly Cloudfern tripped over something and fell hard on her chin. She spun around to see what it was and realized a fiery orange pelt of another cat that wasn't Silverpaw.
She turned her head looking in all directions. She spotted a small scrap of gray fur shaking, barely visible through the clouds of dirts.
Cloudfern raced to her and nudged the apprentice. Another grenade went off behind them.
"Silverpaw get up! The Dreaders are going to kill you!" She snapped.
The apprentice peeked her head up, her eyes shining in fear.
"We have to get back to Ravenpaw quick-"
Another cat barreled into Cloudferns hip. She hot the ground feeling her breath taken away.
"Back off!" The voice was from Larkwing.
Larkwing stood above Cloudfern seething. Cloudfern looked to Silverpaw who's head had popped up to watch. Her eyes were so soft and innocent.
"Run Silverpaw to the brambles find Ravenpaw and run they're going to kill you both!" Cloudfern shouted over the explosions.
"She's lying Silverpaw," Larkwing spat.
"They almost killed Goosepaw I saved him and came here to find Flamewing to-"
"Flamewings dead if you hadn't noticed," Larkwing growled.
Cloudferns face fell. That's who she mustve tripped over. She went to get to her paws but Flamewing grabbed her by the throat and slammed her down into the ground and threw her a foxtail away.
Cloudfern gasped for air her shoulder had clicked out of its socket but her scream came as a wheez. Suddenly Cloudfern felt a small object tap her stomach and everything went white.
Cloudferns eyes opened and her grandfather stood in front of her. His baby blue eyes parallel with hers. She felt no pain that she had before and her pelt was as clean as a newborn kits
"Papi!" Cloudfern smiled and brushed muzzles wrapping her forepaws around his neck. His pelt was warm and comforting.
"You made it. You did your best Cloudfern I'm so proud of you." Cloudfern heard her grandfather whisper into her ear.
"You're in Starclan now."
Silverpaw gasped and covered her head as the last grenade hit Cloudfern. She choked out a cry.
Flamewing was dead and the Dreaders were going to kill her.
"Silverpaw."
Through the settling dust Larkwing appeared stepping closer.
"Silverpaw she was lying. I told you about my sister I wouldn't ever." Larkwing tried to sooth but it only terrified Silverpaw more.
Silverpaw stepped back then raced away through the thickest part of the dust clouds. She raced straight to where Ravenpaw had been before the explosion. SMACK.
"Silverpaw come back!" Larkwing shouted his paws gaining on her.
Ravenpaw had smacked into Silverpaw and shook his head.
"Where's Cloudfern?" Ravenpaws worried voice asked as he looked over her shoulder.
"We have to run now they're going to kill us!" Silverpaw cried out pushing him back into the brambles until Ravenpaw ran beside her. They crashed through bushes and tumbled down slopes. The sound of Larkwings paws foxlengths behind them.
"He cant climb!" Silverpaw panted. "We have to...climb!"
Ravenpaw nodded and directed their tracks to a large oak.
"One...Two.." Ravenpaw shouted.
"Three!" Silverpaw yowled and both apprentices sprang onto the tree climbing with all their might.
Ravenpaw frantically jumped branch to branch, then suddenly losing his footing. He fell back to the ground, having the wind knocked out of him. He got to his paws dizzily then looked around. He saw three cats that looked like Larkwing running to him and then it turned into one that pounced him back to the ground.
"Where is she! I'm only trying to help!"Larkwings voice filled Ravenpaws ears.
Ravenpaw struggled back against the tom and spat at him.
"FOR CLOUDFERN!" Another tom yowled and more weight was put onto Ravenpaw then it was all gone. Ravenpaw turned around to see Goosepaw clinging onto Larkwing. The district twelve toms whole back leg was missing.
"Run!" Goosepaw yowled looking to Ravenpaw then bit down onto Larkwings shoulder. Ravenpaw hesitated then turned and raced away from the battling two before remembering Silverpaw was in the tree. He turned around as soon as Ravenpaw raced past him.
"Come on!" She called racing at full speed.
Goosepaw had followed Cloudferns trail. He owed her his life and wasn't about to be treated like he was useless. Once the bombs began going off he ran as fast as he could to the cloud of dust and dirt seeing Cloudfern dive in. He had barely made his was in when he saw that Larkwing tossed Cloudfern right into a bomb. He had been so filled with rage towards the tom. Cloudfern was the only cat who risked their life for him.
Once he saw Larkwing racing after the two apprentices he knew he had to do his best to avenge Cloudfern. Prove that all district twelve cats weren't cowards.
Once Ravenpaw and Silverpaw had raced away Goosepaw tried to scratch for the toms throat, but Larkwing rolled onto his, crushing Goosepaw. Then Larkwing stepped onto Goosepaws stub of a leg. Goosepaw wailed in pain he was seeing stars.
"I don't have problem with killing other apprentices. " Larkwing growled and swiped his claws across Goosepaws cheek turning his whole head to the side where a beautiful she-cat stood. It was Cloudfern.
She walked with grace over to Goosepaw her white pelt shining and her gray muzzle stretched open as she spoke. "It's your time Goosepaw."
Larkwing raised his claws again ready to strike Goosepaws throat. Cloudfern raised her starry white paw along side Larkwings."May you feel no more pain," She meowed and both their paws came down and exploded into Goosepaws chest turning into yellow petals. Everything disappeared around Goosepaw and Cloudferns voice rang. "Welcome to starclan." When Goosepaw opened his eyes Cloudfern stood before all the other tributes that had made it to Starclan.
