Day 2 (part 2)

Silverstorm raised her head when she scented another cat approaching her she looked up to see Ripplenewt in front of her. She hadn't realized how close to the forest she'd gotten she began to step back holding the dried herbs to her chest.

"What are you doing way out here sweetie," Ripplenewt meowed reaching forward pulling her herbs aside.

Silverstorm jerked away disgusted. She was about to state the obvious, but cut herself off remembering that the Terrors didn't know she had medicine cat expierence.Ripplenewt chuckled and Silverstorm realized she'd been standing there stuttering with her mouth open.

"Nothing," Silverstorm muttered.

"You know it's unusual you have forepaws full of...plants. Seems like a medicine cat tactic." Ripplenewt raised his eyebrow but flashed a charming smile.

"No-" Silverstorm quickly downcasted her eyes and turned away her hair covering one of her eyes, but she didn't care to tuck it behind her ear.

"It'd be a shame if Hailscar found out." Ripplenewt called after her.

Silverstorm froze and turned back facing Ripplenewt lashing her tail glaring at the smirking tom.

Ripplenewt grabbed her by the forearm and yanked her into the forest throwing her to the ground. It all happened so fast Silverstorm dropped the plants from her paws. Wasn't Badgerstrike watching her? Where was he?

"Or you can-" Ripplenewt began.

Suddenly Silverstorm smashed her hind paw into Ripplenewts jaw and rose to her fours and raced off into the forest. Her mind was in danger mode and she couldn't even think about returning to the Cornicopia. Ripplenewt could already be telling Hailscar and they could be sending a search party out for her.

Ripplenewt hissed rubbing his jaw watching Silverstorm race off into the forest. Suddenly Barbwire appeared a couple fox lengths away.

"Did you find one?" She called.

Ripplenewt snarled. Barbwire had thought to split up making Ripplenewt feel hopeless in trying to get a connection going with her.

"If you count a fat rabbit a cat then yes I found one," Ripplenewt rubbed his jaw more.

"A rabbit overpowered you?" Barbwire questioned, unimpressed.

"You should of seen the size of that rabbit. We should warn the others to watch out. Mousesnarl." Ripplenewt meowed in a serious ton.

Barbwire rolled her eyes and felt her cheeks warm. The tom was funny, but not strong and not fighting material. It'd be a little harder to kill him now.

"Well why don't we search together? I haven't spotted or caught any scents yet." Barbwire called to the tom.

"Yea sure thing!"Ripplenewt called racing up to her side and together they began to search.

Suntail woke on the ground and rubbed her head with her  forepaw. Last night had been a very confusing night for her. All she could remember is Goldenscar telling her to find Shadowfur and befriend her without explaining why, that if she didn't he'd kill Suntail. Suntail suddenly jumped realizing she was on the ground and leaped to the trees.

The district seven she-cat had taken several breaths when her head began to spin. Suntail dug her claws into the tree branch to keep herself from falling. Suddenly memories flooded back into her head of Goldenscar pointing his arrow in her face and talking of his past, that he was going to do something terrible that would make the Dark Forest more powerful than ever.

Suntail gasped when it hit her, she had to find Shadowfur immediately. Realization hit so hard that the gray she-cat fell from the tree hitting the forest floor hard. CRACK! Suntail screeched in pain as her shoulder had smacked into a boulder. The pain was unbearable. Voices soon filled Suntail's ears from far off.

"Over here! There!" A strange voice called.

From the tone Suntail knew she was in trouble. However when Suntail tried rolling over she found her body unable to move. Suntail writhed on the ground from her chin up but nothing else was mobile.

"Too easy!" The strange voice was close.

Thats when a small brown face appeared over her face. One green and one blue eye glared into Suntails and she realized it was Barbwire from district four. Thats when...

BOOM!

Snowfrost perked her ears at the sound of the canon. She quickly thought of the other Dreaders and worried that they were in danger.

"Stop worrying. If they die they die its the games," Berrytuft meowed from beside her.

The sun was coming close to sun high and they hadn't found any place suitable for the rest of them, just a cave that would barely fit two. They were heading back to camp now and Snowfrost couldn't help worrying about what they were going to find back at the Cornicopia. She had to get her mind off of it.

"Thank you for not telling the others I trained in the Dark Forest," Snowfrost changed the topic.

Berrytuft and her had spoken the night before when Snowfrost revealed she had once trained in the Dark Forest but had pulled away from it because it wasn't who she was. Berrytuft had found a new respect for the she-cat and explained how he felt the same but his emotions didn't matter now they were in the games.

"It's nothing. If I told them they would just treat you differently," Berrytuft responded.

Snowfrost noticed the toms pace had quickened. Maybe he was just as eager to get back to the Cornicopia.

Mousesnarl perked her ears at the sound of the canon and instantly knew it had to of been Barbwire's kill and grinned devilishly. Beside her, basking in the warmth of the sun was Hailscar.

"Music to my ears," The tom purred beside her.

The games were only just beginning.

Owleye looked to the forest at the sound of the canon. He looked around the desert where Silverstorm had been looking at plants. Dumb she-cat. However Owleye couldn't spot the Light gray and orange she cat anywhere. Owleye turned his eyes towards Badgerstrike who was sharpening his sickle. This was a perfect time to pull his manipulation skills.

Owleye got himself to work up acting as if he was worried huffing and puffing he raced over to the black and white tom.

"Badgerstrike! Badgerstrike!"

The the district five tom turned his yellow eyes on Owleye with annoyance but also curiousity. Owleye had this in the palm of his pad.

"Silverstorm! I saw her walk into the woods not to long ago! It looked like another cat was luring her! I didn't think to worry until I heard the canon and I know you two- it could of been her! Or she could be next! She could be in danger." Owleye said in a voice of worry.

Badgerstrike looked off into the forest his eyes conflicting until finally he announced, "Stay here tell the others where I've gone!"

The black and white tom took off into the forest on all fours at top speed. Owleye grinned devilishly. Hopefully the Terrors would find both of them and kill them off.

Goldenscar had been watching Suntail from high above in the top most branches of the trees and seethed when he saw the dumb she-cat had gotten herself killed. He'd have to do this by himself now. Rage filled Goldenscar but also a conflicting part of him that was telling him to not do what he was about to do.

Stormthistle jolted at the sound of the canon. Her heart rushed more. She had to find Wonderingwind. The she-cat had made her way towards an awkward shaped cliff that hung over a hoard of thorn bushes. Thats when Stormthistle spotted the black tom making his way up the cliff all alone. Stormthistle looked around and didn't see any other cat in the area.

The brown she-cat was confused and she quickened her pace following after Wonderingwind, losing sight of him as she mad her way up the cliff until she spotted the top holding her bag over the cliff.

"NO!" Stormthistle yowled and raced  towards Wonderingwind catching the tom off guard.

Wonderingwind turned around to see a brown tabby pelt racing towards him. Suddenly he slipped on the edge of the cliff and felt his body drop from under him. Wonderingwind cried out as he felt nothing under him and flailed his paws to grab onto something. His claws dug into the edge of the cliff and he clung on tight.

Stormthistles round face appeared above him grabbing his foreleg.

"Hand me the bag!" Stormthistle demanded.

"No! It can kill other cats!" Wonderingwind shouted back. Was the she-cat really going to do this.

"We will both die without that bag!" Stormthistles eyes began to water.

That was the first real emotion Wonderingwind had seen from the she-cat. Something in him made him throw the bag over back onto the cliff with Stormthistle. The brown she-cat pulled him up and rolled over turning her face away from him clutching her bag. Crying?

"That bag will cause more harm both others and you! You'll have emotional distress-" Wonderingwind tried to convince.

"I HAVE TO HAVE IT!" Stormthistle screamed. "I can't let them starve."

Wonderingwind stared at the she-cat with curiousity, but she didn't speak. Wonderingwind sat down behind her trying to think of what to say but for the first time he wasn't thinking about teaching the kind and friendly card he'd almost died and the she-cat saved him even though he was throwing her weapon over the cliff.

Shadowfur gasped out as the fox exploded into leaves at the point of her sword. She cried out into a scream covering her eyes sobbing. Half of her happy she lived to do what she needed before she died and half heartbroken she had to live another day in the games. She lowered her head to the ground until her forehead was pressed into the cold dewy grass. She closed her eyes and thanked Starclan.

Lilytoad moved over as Starlingmask sat beside her and poured out the contents of his bag as if he was just now finding out what was inside and immediately he scarfed down two cans of tuna sloppily. Lilytoad wrinkled her nose and looked away unsure what to say.

"So how many kills have you made?" The tom suddenly asked.

"Kills? None." Lilytoad meowed in a low confused whisper.

The district twelve she-cat heard the tom pause and move closer. His nose was right beside her cheek as he sniffed her. Lilytoad was immediately worried he could smell her fear scent. She didn't know if this tom was one of the Dreaders or not.

"You don't have to worry. I'm not going to hurt you," Starlingmask murmured.

Lilytoad looked up to meet Starlingmasks deep hazel eyes and it seemed an eternity that the two stared deeply at each other before looking away.

"In fact I won't let any harm come to you as long as you allow me to stay," Starlingmask declared standing tall puffing out his white chest fur.

"Well I can't see that being much of a problem I could use the company," Lilytoad meowed.

Biohazard looked around at the sound of the canon worried.

"Sagebramble maybe you should slow your pace." Biohazard suggested the she-cat.

The two had been racing faster than foxes through the woods.

"No! We have to find-"

Out from behind a tree a sword like shine flew straight at Sagebramble.

Sagebramble gasped scooting back but was late by just half a heart beat. A machete was sliced into her chest a mouse tail away from her heart. Sagebramble fell to the ground with a thump. Pain seared through Sagebrambles chest and a burning sensation came from her throat. The young she-cats one green eye shot open wide.
