...18
The clock ticked down in the center of the Cornicopia. Ripplenewt shifted his shoulders glancing to his sides. To one was his fellow tribute Halfcloud. He moved his eyes to the other tribute beside him, a pretty light gray and orange she-cat. Ripplenewt faced the Cornicopia again. He had a good choice of she-cats to mess around with.
...17
Barbwire dug her claws into the rock she was standing on grinning devilishly at all the weapons placed in the Cornicopia. A machete caught her eyes and she set her aim for when the clock rang.
...16
Biohazard looked around the edges of the Cornicopia, there was maybe ten fox lengths of desert before there was small forests set around it. Not much cover, but it'd have to do.
...15
Goldenscar wagged his haunches, eyes set on a crossbow. He had one mission and one mission only.
...14
Lilytoad looked at the upper district cats expressions and then to the edges of the cornicopia. It was long stretches of sand until it met with several small forest. She gulped uneasy if she could run fast enough.
...13
Hailscar first noticed the waterfall dripping off the Cornicopia into a pond as big as a hippo. He was going to stay here no matter what, no one was going to tell him to leave.
...12
Suntail felt her heart pounding in her chest. The heat was worse than any summer she had been through. She was going to run from the Cornicopia no question.
...13
Berrytuft set his sight on long golden sword in the Cornicopia. He grinned ready for the clock to ring. Besides Shadowfur he was the oldest and most likely to be in charge.
...12
Owleye looked around at all the cats. The she-cats looked most vulnerable than the toms in the higher districts. They'd be more easier to manipulate, but he had his eyes set on Hailscar.
...11
Sagebramble looked at the backs observing the bags from biggest to smallest until she had her eyes set on one almost on the totally opposite side, but it was the biggest so she'd risk it.
...10
Mousesnarl looked around at her competition and then had her eyes set on the Cornicopia, but couldn't quite place her eyes on a weapon she'd use most.
...9
Badgerstrike laid his eyes on sickle that he started training with a year ago when his mother passed. He was going to win. For her.
...8
Starlingmask watched as the higher districts faces scrunched up with anger, rage and blood lust. He'd run for it and try to feed off another cat for awhile.
...7
Stormthistle stood on the wooden circular panel staring out into the Cornicopia. She spotted a bag just in her reach. She'd run and try her best to get it.
...6
Wonderingwind looked around at all the tributes. He would run for it and help all those who ran too, but he wanted to try talking to the upper district players. He knew they all weren't born to kill.
...5
Snowfrost looked around at the others. They all doubted her for being kindhearted, but she'd prove them she could belong in the Dreaders group.
...4
Silverstorm knew she was the most valuable out of all the tributes since she had the most experience in herbs. However she didn't want to be part of the Dreaders. They were murders and she'd run from them before they even realized she was gone.

Shadowfur didn't know what she'd gotten herself into. She raced against the others until she reached a medium sized bag. She grabbed it and looked around for a specific cat. Another cats fur brushed up against hers as it raced towards the Cornicopia. Shadowfur flinched and took one last look with no success at finding the other cat. She raced away into the sandy desert regretting ever winning the first games and being thrown into the second with a cat she never thought she'd see again.
Owleye hissed as he glanced back to see Shadowfur running from the scene. He'd thought she' have more courage since she had won the first game, clearly not. Owleye made his way to the chrome Cornicopia half a second before anyone else did. He observed his first pick of weapons as Mousesnarl reached his side. Owleye immediately recognized her scent and was relieved. They had set up an alliance before they entered, more like he manipulated her to believing he'd be on her side when the final day came. He ignored everyone else around him now and reached for a dagger when a short tom had pounced on top of him.
Owleye hissed in anger, he glanced around for Mousesnarl. She was supposed to protect his blind side. Owleye tore the short tom off his back to reveal Antleaf the district twelve tom. He had some gut running to the cornicopia. Owleye pierced the other toms stomach with his dagger and twisted.
BOOM!
He didn't have any guts now. Owleye then searched for Mousesnarl until he spotted the dark brown she-cat struggling on the ground with another tribute. Owleye hissed and turned away. So much for a stupid alliance.
Mousesnarl rolled across the ground with the district six she-cat Halfcloud. Halfcloud had barreled into Mousesnarl as she was reaching for a spear, but Mousesnarl wasn't going to have it. She immediately took over and rolled on top and raised her sheathed claws into the air then connected it with the Halfclouds neck.
BOOM!
Mousesnarl looked around the for Owleye to see him focusing on the weapons in the Cornicopia. The young tom had obviously forgotten the alliance they had made. She ignored him and moved to take her spear when Barbwire pushed her to the ground once more. A large machete was in her paw.
"Truce!" Mousesnarl yowled.
"Barbwire! Dreader!" Eagletuft called to his fellow district she-cat.
Barbwire hissed under her breath then lowered her face to Mousesnarls.
"It'd be so much easier to kill you now, but I'll wait until our numbers go down," Barbwire grumbled and leaped off of Mousesnarl.
Mousesnarl finally stepped towards the spear she'd been trying to get and gripped it in her paw then looked around at her fellow forming Dreaders.
Hailscar saw Eagletuft barking orders at Barbwire and grumbled under his breath. He was going to be the leader no matter what. He gripped the axe in his paws and raced towards Eagletuft throwing his axe at the unexpected district four tom.
BOOM!
Snowfrost had turned around with another axe in her paw seeing Hailscars axe fly through the air and land in Eagletufts chest. She tightened her grip on her axe. Hailscars lust for power was dangerous and she wasn't intent on taking orders from him. Her training from the Dark Forest had told her to kill him, but her new found kind-hearted nature was holding her back. Thats why the Dark Forest had rejected her. She was unsure if she should stay or run now. She was hoping that some cat would end Hailscar.
Ripplenewt held throwing knives in his paws and looked around as the others were killing off tributes. he intended to stay with the Dreaders as long as he could in order to ensure his safety. Suddenly Owleye stepped up close to him with a dagger in his paw pointing the tip toward Ripplenewt.
"Well is this some initation to the Dreaders?" Ripplenewt questioned with a chuckle.
"Owleye!" A she-cats voice called from across the weapons table.
Both toms heads whipped around to face Snowfrost, the attractive district one she-cat was facing them.
"Ripplenewts got skill in knife throwing we could use him for now!" She told Owleye.
Ripplenewts face lit up and he turned back to Owleye.
"Score one for me," Ripplenewt meowed.
Lilytoad raced away from the bloodbath happening in the Cornicopia. She wished her legs had been longer so she'd get across the burning sand faster. Alongside Lilytoad was another she-cat with long dark brown fur. It was BioHazard from district ten, she had obviously though the same as Lilytoad. However Lilytoad wasn't ready to form any alliances, at least not yet. Her quiet and shy nature pushed Lilytoad to race the other way to a small forest area farther away towards another small forest area. It was a farther distance, but Lilytoad didn't want to risk any chance.
Starlingmask stood frozen once the initial timer rang. He couldn't feel any muscle in his body until the first BOOM! Thats when Starlingmask shook his head and turned around towards the blazing desert sands and ran. His black pelt making the heat almost unbearable. He spotted a few other cats who had made the same idea. He could try to survive off of them for awhile.
Wonderingwind had raced into the flurry for a bag. He wanted to try and help every cat he possibly could. He skidded to the ground grabbing a bag. he looked up to see Tallheart racing past him to retrieve another bag. He'd tried talking to her about helping others, but the she cat had said it was dangerous to be like that. Wonderingwind watched as she reached down for a bag when a brown tabby reached down for the same bag. Both she-cats had looked up at each other, but Tallheart yanked the bag and started to run. Suddenly from the corner of Wonderingwinds eye he spotted a machete flying towards the she-cat. The brown tabby, Stormthistle, ducked and the machete pierced into Tallhearts leg.
The she-cat fell to the ground wailing in pain . Wonderingwind turned his gaze onto Barbwire who was stalking towards the she-cat. He took one step forward when Stormthistle came crashing into him with another bag on her back.
"Come one we have to go!" The district nine she-cat meowed frantically in the toms ear.
However Wonderingwind stood watching Barbwire make her way to the struggling district eleven she-cat.
"What are you waiting for come on!" Stormthistle ordered.
Wonderingwind's midnight blue eyes didn't leave Barbwire. Why was the district four she-cat so blood thirsty? There had to of been something that changed her into this monster and if he knew he could help her become the cat she once was. Suddenly Barbwire reached Tallheart and yanked her machete out of the she-cats leg and raised it above Tallhearts chest then...
BOOM!
Stormthistle hissed under her breath and grabbed the tom by the scruff and tried dragging him after her. She had known Tallheart wasn't worth saving, but the tom had a backpack so he obviously had an ambition to live.
"Come on!" Stormthistle hissed through the toms black furred scruff.
The tom finally snapped back and looked to her thats when the machete hit the sand right beside the two. Stormthistle looked up to see Barbwire racing towards them.
Stormthistle immediately let go of Wonderwindings scruff and raced off into the desert, hearing Wonderingwinds paws stirring in the sand behind her. Stormthistle didn't dare turn back to see if Barbwire was still on their tracks. Sand stirred under her paws with each running leap she took until she made her way into the lush green forest she finally turned back to see Barbwire far in the distance turning back to the blood bath.
The district nine she-cat caught her breath and waited as Wonderingwind joined her side. Stormthistle turned to him with an angry glare.
"You could of gotten us killed! Why were you just standing there?" Stormthistle demanded.
"That she-cat wasn't always bad," the tom responded.
Stormthistle stared wide eyed. This tom was crazy.
Sagebramble took her chance running halfway around the cornicopia then waiting for her best chance to run in for the bag. Suddenly her chance came and she raced towards the bag. Out of the corner of her eye she spotted Barbwire throw a machete at another cat. She winced, but kept running. She reached out her paw and finally connected with the bag. Sagebramble rolled a couple times not realizing she had been racing towards the bag so fast she had hardly slowed down. Quickly, Sagebramble wrapped the bag around her shoulder. It was almost bigger than she was, but that was expected since she had been the youngest cat in the games.
Another cat clapped into Sagebramble knocking her flat into the burning sand. Sagebramble had lost her breath from the massive weight. She immediately felt the bag being torn away from her, so she quickly rose to her paws and began to yank back. When Sagebramble looked up to meet the other cats eyes she saw blood pour from the toms mouth.
BOOM!
The tom fell to the ground and behind him stood Berrytuft, with sword in paw. Sagebramble stood her ground, yanked her bag out of the dead toms grasp and raced away into the desert land. Sagebramble couldn't hear the sound of running paws behind her, but didn't risk turning around to see. She ran farther than her body could take, with all the weight of the bag on her back. Once Sagebramble made her way into the shade of the forest trees she collapsed to the ground.
Badgerstrike made his way to the Cornicopia in all the chaos and chose a sickle sitting along the weapons table.
"Hey new partner!" A voice came from the shadows.
Badgerstrike looked over raising his sickle.
"Whoa whoa! I'm on your side. Dreaders natural killers. I bet thats a musical in the capital by now." It was Ripplenewt of district six.
Badgerstrike grumbled under his breath. He would need allies to make it almost halfway and besides his mother had been a Dreader. It would be in the best honor to her if he won the games as one of the Dreaders, even though he absolutely hated the idea of being in a group.
Behind Badgerstrike stood Silverstorm claws sheathed glaring at Ripplenewt. Badgerstrike had promised he'd keep her safe as long as she helped aid the Dreaders, since she was the only cat who had any experience in herbs. She hadn't agreed at first but then chose to. She knew the last tom who had aided the Dreaders went insane, but this would be different she wouldn't allow herself to go insane and when it came down to the last of the Dreaders she'd run away and live off the land until they all killed each other off.
Suntail watched the flurry of fighting cats for a couple heartbeats unsure about if she should run or get a bag until she saw Barbwire kill off Tallheart. Thats when Suntail raced away across the heated sand. Her paws shriveled from the heat, all she needed to do was make it to the trees.
The run across the desert however was wearing on Suntail. She hadn't ever really been in much shape, especially running long distances. It felt like moons before Suntail reached the cool shade of the forest. Her vision blurred and she sat down closing her eyes taking in deep breaths. How was she going to survive the whole games if she could barely run.
Goldenscar made his way to the weapons table. He looked around searching for a weapon he'd trained with for moons. Finally he spotted the Crossbow. Goldenscar lifted the weapon over his shoulder, making sure to grab all the extra arrows he would need. Finally after he was done he took back off towards the forest dodging every fighting cat. He had one mission before he joined the Dreaders.
Biohazard made her way through the forest. She had seen Lilytoad on her race to the forest, but that was the only cat she had seen, she didn't even glance back to the cornicopia as she was running. She couldn't stand all the bloodshed, but she knew she would need an ally soon. Maybe she could talk Lilytoad into being her ally.
Barbwire saw that Hailscar had killed off Eagletuft. Now she had her chance to strike any cat that posed a threat. She had already made one kill but she had her eyes on the district three she-cat Sandflower, who had been using the other machete. This time Eagletuft wasn't going to stop her. She sprang at Sandflower while Sandflower had been turned around. Barbwire landed on the other she-cats back and slid her machete across her throat, seething from her mouth.
BOOM!
Barbwire landed on her two legs, her blood lust was out of control all she could see was blood.
Berrytuft turned away from Rockfurs dead body. He wasn't about to try and kill off Sagebramble, she was basically an apprentice. Berrytuft didn't kill cats who weren't an even match to him. Longfoot, the district nine tom, came springing at Berrytuft. Berrytuft lifted his sword as the other tom flew midair and crashed into the end of the sword.
BOOM!
Berrytuft began to trek back towards the Cornicopia across the hot sand. He looked among the remaining cats. He immediately knew which cats needed to be dealt with, which were Hailscar and Barbwire for killing the other potential Dreaders without giving them much a chance. He could see the evil in their eyes and didn't trust them. As he made his way to the front of the group he turned around and spoke to them all.
"Alright fellow Dreaders I believe since I'm the oldest and the most experienced-" Berrytuft was cut off.
"No! I don't want an elder leading us!" Hailscar interrupted.
The district one tom was a lot younger than Berrytuft, but matched in size to him.
"You're younger and more irresponsible and not even that I was going to suggest we vote," Berrytuft hissed.
"Well then prove your worth!"Hailscar yowled and leaped towards Berrytuft with his axe in paw.
"WAIT!"
