Question from jalexflame : Cinderpelt, thinking back on it now, do you still (or did you ever) want to be with Firestar?

Honestly speaking, when I was younger, I did want to be with him. He was such a great cat, and was very kind to everyone. He was a great mentor, and possibly a good mate.

But then came the day I had broken my leg.

My leg felt like it was on fire, and as I gazed at it, I almost threw up. It was twisted in everyday, fur clumps were taken off of it, and it was bleeding. After that, I was changed into a medicine cat because I couldn't continue my warrior duties. My leg would never heal.

I was so disappointed. Now I could never have a mate. I couldn't hunt or fight or anything. I couldn't be a warrior. But most of all, I couldn't be with Firestar.

Soon I realized, I wasn't the cat for Firestar. It was Sandstorm. I knew she was the right cat for him.

Then came the badger attacks. I was in the nursery, guarding Sorreltail and her kits, until the powerful beast came in and tried to attack.

I unsheathed my claws and aimed for its face, but that's when it bit my throat.

Sorreltail's kits were born, I was reborn as Cinderkit, also known as Cinderheart.

I wasn't Cinderheart, but I was like her spirit. I remembered everything she remembered, and she soon learned about me.

She was torn apart from not knowing who she was, and had to give up Lionblaze for a while.

I didn't want to be reborn like this! I wanted her to have the best, so eventually, she picked to be herself and chose to be with Lionblaze.

I remember leaving her body and whispering a thank you. I soon joined Starclan, which was much better.

Whoops, got a little side-tracked. Anyway, I watched Firestar and Sandstorm fight against the Dark Forest, and after that, I realized...

Those two were meant to be together.

After that, me and Firestar became very good friends in Starclan, and when Sandstorm joined, we were like a happy family.
