I'm back, Arendelle
Chapter 4
Dawn broke and People were starting all their activities like the usual. Bakery baking, Fishermen, fishing, and people on the streets were buying things for their tables for the whole day like the usual routine all of them were accustomed to but it was different for Anna.
Waking up on the ground with the blanket barely covering her figure was not good for an early spring temperature for the morning. She pulled the covers and found that it was all crumpled by her foot. Too lazy to pull it, she curled up to a ball and enjoyed the feeling of fur on her skin as she lay on the carpet.
It took her some time to realize that she wasn’t in her old village. She wasn’t in her own room which don’t have fur carpets. This made her open her eyes only to see that she was laying on the carpet on the wooden floor.
Right, she’s in Arendelle.
Stretching out her body, revealing a fair amount of skin because she was wearing a dress. It had been a while when she did so it wasn’t really something she was accustomed to.
After a minute or two, she groaned and cot up from the ground with her ridiculous bed hair and a streak of saliva from when she was sleeping. Such habits would never leave her.
Yawning again before standing up, she argued if she would want to leave right now. It would be fine if she does but she might arrive at her previous home earlier than she expected. It didn’t matter, she might actually have some problems on her way so leaving now would be advantageous for her.
Walking to the bathroom, she washed her face before fixing her hair and braided it like the ussual and changed t her casual clothing and placed her hood on her head before fixing her things and grabbing all of them and exiting the her room thus the inn.
The chilly air of the morning made her smile, remembering that it was colder than that of the forest she used to hunt on early morning hours. That was before. She had to move on.
She went to the stables and took her horse before continuing her travel to the inner portion of the kingdom.
People gave her a glance or two but no one really thinks she’s suspicious. The red head wasn’t really accustomed to seeing such unfamiliar faces early in the morning but she has to adapt. This was Arendelle.
The scent of a nearby bakery made her stomach grumble. She hasn’t eaten anything for the morning yet so naturally she was hungry. Stopping by to buy a few pieces of bread, she continued her travel to her home.
Taking up two hours before she arrived the portion of the kingdom she was very familiar with from her childhood. It was the very same from when she left. Nothing changed, the street where she ran around and sang was still lively, the shops were still bustling with people with a new design of clothing. Memories started rushing in her.
She continued to the sane old route she was familiar with and soon, she found herself in front of a gate of a mansion deep in the woods and how thankful she was that they still kept the apple trees around their pathway.
The red head dismounted from the horse she was in and walked to approach the gate while she held the horse with a free hand. Looking around the court yard, no one seems to be outside for the moment.
Until someone appeared in front of her wearing the house’s butler suit.
“Excuse me, is there anything that you need?” He asked with a polite bow.
Anna couldn’t recognize the man and she guessed that the temporary head of the house changed the servants who once served her father. It was bound to happen but it made her quite sad.
“M-May I see the head of your humble house hold?” She asked with a different voice and pulled her hood down as for the man not to recognize her. She wanted reveal herself immediately but that might be quite a bold action. She still had a sense of decency in her head not to do such a bold move.
“May I know your name, Miss?” The man asked.
‘Shit.’ Anna cussed in her head.
She hated the formality. She hated it so much which made her a liiiiitle mad just by the mere thought of it.
Pulling down her hood down, she scoffed at the butler.
“Anna. Anna of Sherwood.” She said and placed her hand by her hip with demand and power present like she used to have back when she belonged to the house.
The butler was surprised when he heard the name.
“Anna? Miss Anna?” He looked at the girl with his brows knitted. “The old servants talk about you often. They were very fond of mentioning you. I don’t really know if who you say you are is true but-“
“Anna! Oh my gosh! Anna!” A lady with such a chirpy voice greeted and went out running from the front doors of the mansion her red dress elegant and perfect for her blood red hair.
“Aunt Giselle! I’m back!” The youngster smiled and pushed through the gate and jumped on her aunt with her tears in her eyes, obviously a picture of a good reunion.
“Oh Anna! I missed you!” The lady hugged the young girl with tears in her eyes and noticed how much she has grown over the years. So much, more beautiful, more mature, stronger.
“So have I Aunt Giselle!” The younger girl said and can’t help but give the lady the best and tightest hug she can muster.
“Oh you airhead.” Her aunt said and caressed the girl’s head and pulled away to give the young girl a kiss.
Anna having lost her mother from birth, her aunt Giselle took care of her for a while before she ran away.
She’ll have to save the sweet reunion for now. She’s itching to see her father.
“Aunt Giselle, Where’s father?” Anna asked with a bright smile on her face.
That was when Anna realized that she was too late. Judging from the grim look on her Aunt’s face, her father was long gone and she wasn’t even on his side.
