|68|: See You, Geek

Upon reaching the hangout, Hunter had fallen asleep before opening his eyes and still noticing Chase asleep. He squinted a couple of times, getting rid of the tiredness before slowly waking up Dianna.

"Chase." He called. "Chase." He tried again. "Dianna." He called one last time as she was up. She noticed where she was and moved away slowly.

"Uh, sorry." She quietly spoke as the tiredness exited her body.

"It's fine. We're here." He spoke as he got out of the car, followed by a tired Dianna.

"The party's in two days. I hope you're prepared." Xavier told his best friend as she nodded her head returning to normal.

"For the party to see girls making a move or taking Destroy down?" She teased with a smirk upon her lips.

"Ah, the same old Chase who loves to taunt, go get some rest." Xavier rolled his eyes as he greeted her off.

"You too. See you." She turned around to face Hunter, offering him a smile.

"See you, Geek." A smile slipped from his lips.

"Still see you've not forgotten the name."

"How can I forget someone like you?" She lightly spoke as he stared at her.

The two locked eyes as they both got lost in each other's eyes. The sense of memories and the sense of feeling complete radiated off of the both of them.

Chase swallowed as she stepped closer to him, Hunter stared at Chase with his lips slightly parted, she reached her hand out as she placed it upon his cheek.

Hunter gazed into Chase's eyes before she leaned closer to his ear and said the words,

"Take care, grit salt." He looked slightly down and chuckled slightly as she pulled back.

"You too, sweet cheeks."

Chase walked off as she heard Xavier chuckle at Hunter.

"Dude, score."

"You're overreacting." Hunter shook his head.

"Says the one who has a goofy smile on his face." Xavier smirked.

"Go back inside, man." Hunter rolled his eyes.

"Come on, man." Xavier threw his arm over Hunter's shoulder as the two went inside laughing.

Chase had reached her house, she looked at her state in the full length mirror as soon as she entered through the door. She had marks on her hands and her complexion looked a lot more brighter. Was it that exhilarating going in the forest and taking out beasts?

She shook her head as she moved to the bathroom to take a shower knowing she had two days to work on destroying Destroy.

She had to work her butt off even if that meant training once again. She exactly knew where she had to go. Changing into a grey baseball t-shirt with a teal hoodie, black sweatpants and high-tops. She reeled her hair into a high pony tail as fresh strands of hair stuck out. She chugged down some water and made her way to her car.

It was 1am and she knew she needed all the exercise and training she could get within these two remaining days. Starting her car up, Chase drove downtown the familiar route as she picked up speed on the main roads turning a few turns until she reached the place.

She parked the car and got out, making her way to the gym. She breathed out seeing the familiar place she hadn't been to in a while.

Swallowing she entered and saw a couple of familiar faces training themselves. Chase brushed past familiar faces and made her way to the punching bag.

Dropping her bag down, she did her usual stretches before she picked up her gloves. Breathing out, Chase started punching the bag.

Left. Right. Left. Left. Right.

Like that she was back to understanding the routine. Chase's mind started floating with memories of the past, her past. She started getting images of her as a superhero. Her life with Storm, her life at the time was great with wonderful people.

Her family.

She vented up so much anger as she started punching the bag harder.

Becoming a villain after loosing her rank. Loosing her respect, loosing her friends, her family. Becoming the villain of the century, becoming more stronger, less emotions, less to worry about.

Chase thought about Avery, how she had to go through whatever happened because of the bad villains of Empire State City. The disgusting acts Underdog, Turmoil and other villains did. She heaved a huge sigh as she took a huge blow at the bag.

Punching harder and harder each time imagining Destroy's face being the punching bag. How he is the main ordeal and the main culprit of it all. She punched so hard that the bag broke off.

Some of the other superheroes and villains glanced at Chase as she shook her head, containing herself. She placed another bag ready to punch, but pulled off her gloves staring at the red bruised knuckles, grimacing at the sight she placed her gloves back on, not giving a care.

She started punching the bag again venting out her anger, she didn't know she had this much anger bottled up within her.

Chase vented it out all on this punching bag. Her deepest and darkest feelings. She never truly felt this way before. She had done great achievements and great things but today, she felt so disgusted over the course of events, that she couldn't help but blame her very special self for that matter.

She stopped punching as she panted, swallowing before continuing to punch the actual stuffing out of this bag. She felt emotions, buried ones rise back when she saw her father. She didn't run into his arms like she would when she was younger, she couldn't talk to him properly without feeling awkward and out of place.

What was it that she felt?

Out of place? Distant? Loneliness?

She took a hard blow as she knocked off the second bag, she looked to the side irritated. Chase exhaled pulling her gloves off, she saw the bruised yet trapped bloodied knuckles. Chase pulled away the bandages that Evan had placed on her when she got home.

She knew she was adding more damage but she couldn't help it. She had to be ready.

Before she could punch the next bag, someone caught her attention.

"Having trouble?" She knew that voice from anywhere.

"No." She simply answered.

"Sure about that?" She turned to the voice and looked at them.

"Why do you care?"

"Oh I don't." Chase rolled her eyes at this person. "But by the damage you're doing to yourself, seems deep."

"I don't have time-."

"Just like you didn't have time when you picked the villains side over superheroes." Chase gritted her teeth in annoyance.

"It's true, you made your decision hastily."

"I made my decision at the right moment." She shot back lowly.

"Really?" They made their way up the steps to her. "It didn't seem like that."

Chase stared at Goodie, she wasn't in the mood right now to hear this from him of all people. "Leave me alone, Goodie." She tried to ignore him as Goodie continued.

"Why'd you leave, Chase?" She turned to face him.

"You of all people are asking me this question?" She narrowed her eyes into slits. Her brows furrowing in sync, she was not in the middle to play around.

"Of course, since from my point of view, you left without giving a darn in the world!" Goodie shot back as Chase shook her head.

She took a seat on the step as she pulled off her gloves and placed them to her side. She wriggled her fingers as a familiar click came to sound.

"I left because I was kicked to the curb." Goodie looked at her confused. "Remember how I was on probation?" Goodie realised as he blew out a breath.

"Yeah from there, my powers were taken, I was looked down upon and even, the funny thing, lost my boyfriend." Chase answered bitterly.

"So you didn't question it much then?" Goodie asked slowly, already knowing the answer.

"I ignored it, I tried my hardest to stay positive despite having to act like a mortal of three months straight." Goodie's eyes popped out of their sockets almost.

"Three months?" He asked surprised as Chase nodded her head.

"Surprising, eh?" She dryly chuckled.

"I did all I could to make the job easier for all of you. I tried hard. I looked after villains, ones that were practically harsh for a seventeen year old girl to see." She paused. "I had to deal with the tortures of seeing my rank go down pretty quickly."

"From two to eighty two. Yeah I saw." Goodie answered as he took a seat. "That was the day I moved up to two and Jingle was at three." As soon as Chase heard that name she smiled softly.

"How is Jingle?"

"No snarky comment?" He asked surprised.

"No. Just a generous question. Nothing wrong with that." Chase shrugged as Goodie slowly nodded his head, unsure still.

"She's okay, I guess."

"Isn't she your girlfriend?" Chase asked.

"Where'd you hear that from?" He asked confused.

"Allan was talking about it."

"The delivery dude. Typical." He scoffed a laugh. "No, me and Jingle aren't dating."

"I'm starting to think Jingle is being used for publicity now." Chase said thoughtfully.

"I don't even know. I thought you two don't like each other." Chase heard the familiar words that everyone said all the time.

It was true Chase didn't enjoy being around Jingle, I mean who wouldn't, catching your boyfriend at the time with another girl, it just destroyed someone.

"That's true, I don't like her." Chase looked at her high tops, finding them more interesting.

"Weren't the two of you like super close?" Chase looked up from her shoes ahead as she tried to ignore that part.

"I don't know, that was in the past." She tried to roll it under the rug as Goodie seemed to notice this.

"Carry on to what you were saying."

"I didn't know what I was doing with my life, three years ago. I thought I lost it, I tried getting my powers but Ashtrid said no. You have no idea how angry I got." Chase shook her head remembering those items finely.

"Ashtrid was hopeless anyways." Goodie shrugged knowing Ashtrid's state pretty well.

"So even then, I couldn't be the superhero I was, even when my dad came back. So, when Nasher saw me, he knew the potential I had. Even the villains I had to look after knew as well that I had been treated like trash." She admitted remembering watching on TV when Storm won the award for Guardian of the city.

"I also remember Jingle kissing Sam." She licked her lips slowly, Goodie's held a pang of guilt in the, before they returned back to their hardened stare.

"It's in the past now." She realised. "I'm a villain and I've accepted it." She looked at Goodie.

"But you've still got superhero qualities in you."

Who do you think Chase should end up with? Storm? Evan? Hunter?
