The darkness entangles me in its loneliness the feeling is warm and safe...why should I keep fighting it's just war after war battle after battle....is there even a reason to fight?A reason to go on in life?

Yea...that's what I thought. My soul will wonder the earth for eternity, forever alone I must be.

I close my eyes for what seems to be the last time and in a gurgled whisper,

"goodbye...."

All is silent in this world of darkness until I am rudely awakened by a dim light. My eyes open to see the first time I was beaten half to death by my drunken father who was upset his first born wasn't a male. Then the image changes to me my mother and my little sister bolting out of the ocean and into the forest. The light shows the bodies my father left at our camp. The light gets brighter when it shows Dawn and I meeting for the first time in the forest...our marriage...and the birth of our pups. I was so happy and filled with pride to know my pups had earth powers. Each one birthed with looks of plants. We had a healthy bunch of four. Chestnut,Birch,
Willow, Juniper pine, and Cherry blossom. The light flashes to when they were two weeks old and fighting me to go outside the den for meat.

(A/n: Lily's pups grow up a little faster than normal wolf pups)

The light dims showing Dawn getting shot...with an infected bullet....I see me searching for my pups...and I remember the way it hurt me to see their tiny little bodies limp and lifeless.......I never wanted to feel that way ever again, so I vowed to never marry and never fall in love as long as I lived.

(a/n that vow may or may not be broken)

The light then flashed to the beginning of my pack and how they looked to me for guidance.
"You say there is no point in living correct? Well you are wrong." The light shows an image of me,"Your pack still needs your leadership and loving care. They need your protection. The earth still needs a guardian to help it recover, these are the reasons you must fight an endless war, these are the reasons you need to live. Think of the new generation that was wiped out in a single afternoon. Revenge will be sweet. The light lends me a hand and helps me up. "Never forget" the light says while lifting me up and into the reality all know as life.

I awaken to the pain of my broken arm and the loss of my legs. "How am I..." A glimmer of light is caught in the corner of my eye. "Oh..."

"Ha! You're up from slightly kicking the bucket, in honor of surviving, Lily you can have the Key of Mavis. All you have to do is walk over there and get it. Oh wait where'd your legs go?" Mavis points to the two bloody stubs that used to be legs.

"How about I just hold it out in front of your good arm? Would that make you happy? But you'll need to stop covering your bloodie mouth first." Mavis says licking her lips while Lily keeps a firm grasp on her mouth failing to keep blood and foam in.
"Oh come on where is that fire that you had just a while ago? Sounds to me rose thorns got your tung."
Mavis chuckles then drags Lily's crippled body over to the pedestal where the Key of Mavis rests.

"It's right here, so close you can grab it. Mavis frowns at Lily's silence and grabs Lily by her neck and repeatedly stabs her in the rib cage. Lily lets out a blood curdling scream. 

"Lily it's not fun when you don't cooperate....I'd really hate for you to lose another-"

A starry figure materializes behind Mavis, she grins and says," Funny I don't remember inviting you here to the party, so please go back where you came." The figure cautiously approaches the warrior. "You know that's not gonna happen."
The figure gives a warm smile when he sees Lily but quickly angers when he sees what Mavis has done to her. "Damn these old star farts for granting someone else passage" Mavis scowls. "They made an acceptation with me because they finally realized you've gone mad!" Dawn bares his teeth in anger. "So you want a piece of this, come and get it." Mavis waves her tail tauntingly. "On one condition though, you have to be in your wolf form." Mavis rolls her eyes and huffs "Oh whatever do you mean? I am in wolf form."she stands up straight and crosses her arms.

"You aren't allowed to fight me in your current (furry) form, it's the stargod's orders." Dawn glares at Mavis making her waver and step back. Mavis smirks,"Very well, but be warned I haven't been myself lately" she laughs maniacally then transforms into a hideous beast with scars all over its body. One of her eyes has been ripped in half while still inside the eye socket, the other is blood red and covered in a white mist indicating her blindness. Mavis Vince Rose the greatest warrior to ever live, I say she has earned her title as a badass that gets out of every trap no matter how deep it is.

Dawn pulls his lips back to show his sharp pointy teeth.
Mavis does the same except her k-9's look more like sabers than fangs.

The two wolves  circled each other sizing the other up. They stop circling to face each other, both wolves snarl and lick their chops. Mavis lunges forward as a warning, but Dawn counters this and rips Mavis's flank open.

Lily's p.o.v

Blood and fur stain the air around me. My wounds haven't healed yet and I'm losing conciseness. I need to get the key.
"Your mate's about to die Dawn and there's no way you can save her" Mavis growls. Dawn pins Mavis to the ground and bites down on her muzzle. Mavis easily gets out of it and yells "She'd be lucky to even get accepted into hell with the many people she's killed!" Dawn ignores Mavis and tries to rip her ear off. Dawn misses and instead bites down on Mavis's tail Dawn manages to shout,"Go to hell!" "And one of those people is you!"

If I can just keep my blood in without using my arm. I start to reach for the Key of Mavis but in doing so blood gushes out of my mouth making Mavis forget about Dawn and focus her attention on me. Dawn sees the chance for opportunity and launches his whole body on Mavis's back, using all his weight and power Dawn holds Mavis down giving me a little more time to reach for the Key of Mavis.  When my hand braced the silver necklace, my strength constantly grew. Mavis charges at me, in that moment it seemed as if time stood still. I could feel Mavis's hot breath on my face and I could see every tuft of fur on her muzzle, even her saliva white and stringy seemed to be flowing in the air like a leaf in the breeze. It was after I slipped the silver necklace over my head and onto my neck my instant healing powers upgraded tenfold I grew my legs back and my arm bent itself into shape. My power feels limitless...

Every thing is clearer.
