Chapter 23-Time to change

The next day The Devil himself demanded a meeting with Jesus. Jesus felt backed into a corner and felt as if he had no other choice to agree to such a meeting.

The Devil was very angry with the entire situation and blamed Jesus himself. He looked up and noticed Jesus had in fact arrived. "You turned up then?."

Jesus nodded reluctantly. "Look.. Neither you or I want to be here or be in this situation but this is what we are dealing with and its up to us to resolve this little problem."

The Devil growled."I'd say it's more than just a problem..It's a mess that's what it is and it's entirely your fault!."

Jesus frowned angrily. "Me?.. Why is it my fault?. We both know who is to blame for this and that's you devil."

The devil laughed evilly. "I suggest you think very carefully about who your talking to If I were you."

Jesus smirked. "There's nothing you can possibly do to me that can scare me.. Who are you to get in the way of true love?."

The Devil looked at Jesus curiously. "You've changed your tune..Your actually supporting them in this ridiculous thing?."

Jesus nodded. "You know what?..I am supporting them.. I think this is a good thing and lets face it if I didn't The Angels and the rest of The Demons would never work for us again."

The Devil shook his head. "Have you lost your mind?..It's our job to make them work for us..Without us and the Angels and demons those pathetic weak humans would be nothing."

Jesus smirked. "No actually I'm the sanest than I have been in years." He stepped forward toward the devil himself and grabbed The Devil's power which was the red trident of his that he always carried around.

The Devil regarded his trident as his staff of power so Jesus decided there was only one way to solve this rather painful situation. The Devil watched in horror as Jesus used all of his power and strength to snap the Trident in half.

A powerful crack sounded as he finally snapped The Trident and sparks started flying from the trident which was once full of The Devils power but now appeared ultimately useless. So Jesus threw the Trident across the floor where it clatters at the devil's feet.

Jesus smiled at The Devil who was staring at him with a horrified look on his face. "Now you can't cause any more trouble. If they want to be together I'm going to let them because no matter what we say or do we can't fight it so I'm not going to stand here and let you make all this any worse."

The Devil growled. "How dare you!" The Devil attempts to grab Jesus but without another word Jesus disappears back up to earth.

The Devil stares upwards cursing Jesus for making him now powerless and realized now he was stuck in the underworld forever. He heard a scream in the distance unsure if it was his own scream or if it was one of the mortal humans being punished with being burnt for eternity.

The Angels and Demons gathered around Jesus as he landed and began pestering him for news desperate for answers. Jesus held up his hand and gestured for silence. "Could Izrak and lizzie step forward?."

Lizzie the angel stepped forward along with Izrak holding each other's hand. Izrak squeezed her hand reassuringly. "You have news my lord?."

Jesus nodded. "You will of course be allowed to stay together..."

Immediately there was squeals of delight coming from the Angels and whooping delight from the Demons all yelling together in a happy uproar.

Jesus gestured for silence once again. "But.. there is one catch."

Lizzie groaned. "I knew there was going to be a but.. I hate buts.."

Izrak laughed. "Yeah but you like my butt don't you?."

Lizzie elbowed him and he winked in reply.

She emptied her throat and allowed Jesus to continue. "You either stay together as Angels and Demons with a promise that it will not interfere with your job or you live together as humans."

Lizzie felt stressed about the whole situation and decided that the whole thing had indeed taken its toll. She stepped forward letting go of Izrak's hand and swallowed nervously. "Actually.. neither of those options are good enough for me.. I've had enough of this whole situation..I think its best for all of us if Izrak and I parted our ways."

Izrak grabbed her arm angrily and turned her around. "After Everything?..Everything we have been through..You have Second thoughts now?!"

Lizzie shrugged. "Izrak.. it isn't a second thought I do love you.. This is more of a..Sensible decision...Sooner or later they would've split us up anyway."

Izrak frowned angrily thinking to himself. "Why is she saying this?"

Lizzie walked toward Izrak. "I'm sorry Izrak but maybe it's just best if I became human."

Jesus spoke as Izrak and Lizzie stared at each other in silence. "Are you sure that is what you want my dear?."

Lizzie nodded and waved goodbye to the other Angels and Demons. Lizzie's sister pushed through the crowds in a desperate bid to get her to stay. She pulls her sister away from the other angels and demons out of their earshot. "Are you absolutely sure?.. You do realize once your human.. We all can't see you again and most importantly I can't see you again."

Lizzie nodded sadly. "Everything has changed for me right now and I do know that..I promise you that you'll be fine but right now I want out of this game..I no longer want to be an Angel."

Her sister nodded. "Fine if that's what you want."

9 months later Lizzie was happy and settled in her human life on earth. She had brought a house and gave birth to a baby daughter named Lavina. Lizzie's sister of course came down to earth secretly for the birth.

Lizzie and Izrak have never seen each other since the day they split up and for now that doesn't seem like it will ever change.

No Demon or Angel has stepped foot on earth ever since that fateful day. The Devil hasn't been seen in a long time either.

So it's a happy ending for Lizze the angel at least for now..Or Is it?.

10 Years later

A young blonde girl yelled down the stairs from the upper floors of her house. "Mum Have you seen my school uniform?."

Lizzie put her cup of tea down on the living room table with a sigh and walked to the bottom of the stairs. "It's where you last put it.. Honestly Lavina I wish you took better care of your things."

Lavina growls in frustration but then five minutes later she yells down the stairs again. "Never mind found it!."

Lavina comes down the stairs two at a time almost like a herd of elephants had come down the stairs.

Her mother walks with her into the living room and points to outside. "I don't see any point in you going to school in this weather.. School is probably closed anyway."

Lavina looks outside and sees everywhere deep in snow. "Mum you can't possibly know that.."

Lizzie shakes her head and switches on the radio. "All schools in the immediate vicinity are now closed for the day due to thick snow.. It is advised all school children stay at home for the day and be extra careful when going out."

Lizzie switches off the radio. "See?." She smiles at her daughter. "It's just as well anyway because I have something to tell you."

Lavina frowns as she sits down next to her mother. "What about?."

Lizzie takes a deep breath. She knows that this has got to be done. "About your father, sweetheart.."

Lavina looks at her mother puzzled. She never spoke about her father so why is she choosing to now?.

Her mother continued. "Your father is called Izrak and well to put it bluntly he isn't human..He is in fact a demon.. Not the kind you're thinking of either more of a evil angel with black wings."

Lavina frowned. "Excuse me? Mum, are you sick? Did you hit your head?"

"I don't understand.. Why are you telling me this?."

Lizzie chuckles. nervously. "No, sweetheart. I didn't hit my head and I'm not sick. But you're ten years old now and I want you to know the truth. About yourself, about dad -- and about me,"

"Mum, you're scaring me. What truth? What about you. You're my mum." Lavina watches her mother stand and walk in a circle. She'd never seen her so nervous.

Lavina stops and kneels in front of her. Her hand rests on Lavina knees, "I am your mum and I love you and I know this sounds nuts, but we're different -- you and I. "I am -- was an Angel, but I hated it because of everything that happened with the war and well myself and your father was'nt allowed to stay together but when we were finally allowed I had enough by this point so I left your father and took human form."

Lizzie continued watching Lavinia's bewildered face ."The trouble is I didn't know that I was pregnant with you. Things for both of us are changing and I need you to understand what you are -- Part Angel part Demon."

Lavinia's eyes widened, she stares at her mother. "So, what would that make you now?."

Lizzie replied:"I am human. I've chosen to stay that way,"

Lavina frowned. "And my dad?."

Lizzie shrugged. "No idea, Probably still a Demon.. I've not seen him since I left." Lavina got up breathing heavily. This is not what she had expected when she woke up this morning but most of all she didn't know what to expect.

Lavina got up breathing heavily. This is not what she had expected when she woke up this morning but most of all she didn't know what to expect. She turns to her mother Lizzie. "This is a lot to take in.."

Lizzie nodded. "I know it is, honey. I felt it was time for you to know the truth. If you ever wanna meet your father, you have my blessing."

Lavina decided to run upstairs to get her bearings and clear her state of mind. She shut her bedroom door with a slam.

Questions run through her head at 100 miles per hour. Did she wanna meet her Father or was she happy with the way life is right now? But most importantly could she see her family perhaps get back together?

She wondered if her mother was holding back more information about where she came from and her Father himself.

She closed her eyes for a moment and in that moment she made her decision. She ran downstairs to her mother and said, "I want to meet my Dad."

A week later

The meeting took place in Gateshead England directly in front of the Angel of the north. It was Lizzie who suggested meeting here, She thought it to be apt considering where she and her daughter came from.

The meeting took place in Gateshead England directly in front of the Angel of the north. It was Lizzie who suggested meeting here, She thought it to be apt considering where she and her daughter came from.

Lizzie stands in front of the Angel and yells " in Angel language which roughly translates as "Izrak we need you."

The air shimmers like waves on the water in front of them. Lavina tucks behind her mother. The air grows cold in the warm room. She tries to make a sound but nothing comes out as something takes form in the middle of the room. How is it possible for a demon to be standing here right in front of her?

She understood what her mother had told her but surely there's no such thing as Angels and Demons is there?

Suddenly Izrak appeared grumbling. "This better be important considering you haven't spoken to me for god knows how many years."

Lizzie sighs. "For god's sake Izrak don't start...please.." She swallows nervously and gestured towards Lavina. "This is your daughter."

All the color drained from Izrak's face and he tried to open his mouth but no words would come out. All he managed to splutter out was.. "WHAT?!"

He looks at Lavina and blinks excessively trying to take it all in.

He splutters once more. "She's my daughter?."

Lizzie nodded. "Of course she is..Why don't you take a closer look?"

He stepped forward towards his daughter and caressed her face and moving her face to the left and the right. He stared deep in her eyes for a moment and nodded. This was indeed his daughter.

He looks at Lizzie. "Why on earth didn't you tell me?."

Lizzie shrugged. "I was human by then and well I just assumed it was too late because I thought I would never see you again."

He yells in Demon language. "Iuputek,Elliah,Enu." Which translates as  "Lizzie's sister come here."

Lizzie blinks astonishingly surprised to see her sister standing before her. She grins to her daughter. "Meet Your Aunt Arabelle."

Lavina gasped at the angel standing before her in widespread wings.

Izrak grinned. "You know what we're missing now don't you?."

Lizzie frowned. "No, What?

He laughed as if it was obvious. "It's time for you to become an Angel again."

Lizzie looked at Lavina sadly. "I don't know..We have a life here now.."

Lavina squeezed her hand. "Do it mum..It's time for us to go home."

Lizzie nodded and closed her eyes. "I Lizzie would like to become an Angel again and to serve Jesus Christ once again."

Suddenly there was a flash and Lavina saw her mother for the first time with Angel wings.

Lavina looked down at herself and noticed that she too was an Angel.

Lavina noticed how happy her mother was and thought perhaps this was the first time she had been happy in years.

Izrak took his daughter's hand and Lizzie's hand along with Lizzie's sister as he said the incantation. "Daemones et Angeli, qui adhuc per orbem vagari simul iuncta iterum pax." Which of course meant,

Let Angels and Demons roam the world once again and live together in peace side by side once more.

Lizzie smiled happily as Angels and Demons materialized around her, finally, she was home where she belonged. She stepped forward towards Izrak. "I'm sorry for keeping all this from you..Are you angry with me?..Please forgive me."

Lizzie knew what his temper could be like and hoped this wouldn't be the start of another war.

He smiles as if he knew what she was thinking. "I'm a changed Demon these days and Don't be silly.. of course, I forgive you." They leaned in together and passionately kissed before the family and other Angels and Demons dematerialized from view and headed back home.

As the years passed Lavina loved being an Angel and loved helping others. She soon grew up and followed in her mother's footsteps becoming a lieutenant and helping humans find their way but most importantly helping Angels and Demons live in peace. She did this until her mother's sad death when she was just 23 years old.

Here is a few pictures of her growing up:

Aged around 13.

aged around 15 here.

Lavina aged 23.

As for The Devil himself.. He was never heard from again cursed to live the rest of his days down in the underworld before he too passed away and ended up joining the rest of the humans being burnt for eternity.

They all lived happily ever after.
