Audrey's POV: Chapter 17
Annetta rushed outside, and came back with a long, thick stick. "Like a prize pig!" She said, grinning.
"What? Is that some hillbilly sh*t?" The boy asked, wiping Anetta's grin off her face. I kicked him in the shop, though I was embarrassed to admit, I didn't know what my friend was talking about, and it did sound a little hillbillyish.
"Whatever you want to call it, cretin. Back at home, we used to participate in the pig contests, to get a little money. We roasted after we won. Just tie a knot here, then loop it over this, tie this tight, and you're done." Annetta explained, as she tied Pearl to the stick.
"Okay. Let's go." I said impatiently.
"Aren't you gonna tie me up?" Jack.
"No. No one is forced to join the alliance. But if you were wise you would come to the base with us, so we have somewhere safe to tell you about it." I replied.
"We're fighting the murderous villains, right?" I flinched.
"Yes." Annetta replied.
"I'm in." Replied Jack.
"Let's go." I lead Jack and Annetta to our base, carrying Pearl, and looked up.
"I can't climb that!" Jack cried realizing my intentions.
"Is baby afraid of heights?" Annetta teased.
"No. I have an injury, cause someone threw knives at me." Jack replied, smugly showing off his bloody bandages. Annetta looked at me with those big disbelieving eyes.
"You're the one with the knives. It was self defense right?"
"...No." I admitted. Annetta slapped me. It wasn't hard, but it still hit me like a punch to the gut. I looked down at my feet.
"Come on, let's go in the other way. There's no one to hide the entrance from now anyway." Annetta said, walking to the secret entrance, and picking the lock with the bobby pin attached to her bow. We trudged up the steep, narrow hallway, to see Peter kneeling next to the glassy eyed brunette boy.
"Max!" Pearl screamed, tears forming in her eyes. "You killed him! How could you? You called me out for attacking people, but you killed Max?"
"We didn't kill him!" Annetta screamed in reply.
"You did!" "Girls-" the blonde boy attempted to say something, but Pearl and Annetta payed him no mind.
"I killed him? He's lying dead in your cave!"
"Girls-"
"Yes, but you shot him!" Annetta cried.
"Shut up!" The blonde boy yelled, at the top of his lungs. The room went deadly quiet. "You can stop arguing. I already checked his pulse. It was perfectly normal. 97 beats per minute. His respiratory system was normal too. Pearl snorted. "Your alive idio-?... Did you hid your head? Why aren't you as dumb as usual?"
"I have always been pretty smart Pearl."
"No you haven't." Pearl laughed.
"Yes I have."
"That was just a fluke!"
"No it wasn't."
"Fine then say something smart."

"What?" Pearl asked.
"First hundred didgets of pi. Easy." Pearl's jaw dropped. I glanced behind me, to a terrifying sight. The glassy eyed Max, was now standing, staggering toward us, his lips moving, but not making any sound.
"Guys?" I called nervously.
"What?" Jack asked. Annetta was the only one at an angle to see Max, and she looked terrified.
"M-" I was interrupted by Max's groaning voice right next to me.
"Bag..." Pearl shrieked, and I jumped away from him. "Bag..." Max groaned again, lurching towards the passage to the bottom of the mountain.
"Seriously Max? You're worried about that stupid bag right now? We're in the middle of a frikking battle to the death! Nobody wants to buy any of your DVD's!" Pearl cried, but I could tell she was really upset about something else. Annetta grabbed Max's wrist.
"Now isn't the time to split up! We need to band together to defeat the murderous villains!" I flinched. Max spun around clumsily, and shoved Annetta hard, causing her to stumble backwards into a very woozy Jack, sending both tumbling to the cave floor.
"Hey! Who do you think you are! She saved your life! Show some gratitude!" I said, about ready to end this escapade with a swift punch to the jaw.
"The bag is the treasure! You can't have it! It's mine!" Max turned, and ran down the passageway, much faster than his clumsy movements would imply.
"What?" Annetta asked, climbing to her feet, and brushing off her ruined dress.
"Untie me and let me talk to him. I know him he'll listen to me." Pearl said. I knew she was only trying to be set free, but I had no interest in all of this, so when Annetta glanced at me, I just shrugged.
"Well we have her gun. How much damage can she do?" Annetta replied.
"Quit talking about me like I'm not here!" Pearl barked, annoyed.
"I say untie her. It can't make things any worse can it?" Jack said, ignoring Pearl. Annetta nodded and untied Pearl. We jogged down the passageway, to see Max approaching two enormous electric eels. I was pretty sure they were Ursula's pets from Ariel, but I didn't really know all that much about Disney. Pearl squealed, and increased in speed, catching Max before he could walk head on into his enemies. Max spun around angrily.
"Let go! The treasure is mine!" He growled. One of the eels lashed out with it's tail, and Pearl yanked Max down barely missing the electrified blow. Jacklin ran up.
"Jackie?" Jack cried, happily surprised. I pulled out a knife.
"I'm here to save you Jack. Thank me later. And put away the knife. I'm not here for you, and you couldn't hit me if you tried." I frowned, and sheathed my weapon. Jackson let out a shrill, piercing battle cry, and charged at the eels, brandishing her battle axe.
"Hot." I heard Jack murmur under. His breath. Jacklin shoved Pearl a Max out of the way, and lifted the axe high above her head. She brought the axe down with her full force, slicing one of the eels in half. No blood came from the wound, and the body parts were already melding back together, but the eel looked like it was in pain.
"Go home to your mommy, Flotsam. And take Jetsam with you. I'm protecting them. You can't do anything here." Flotsam, the intact eel, whined, and wrapped Jetsam in his tail, jetting through the air back to the castle.
