A/N So, this is a small songfiction! It's about Melanie and Garroth! 

The song is called Two Birds by Regina Spektor. I think it's a very good song, seeing as it made me cry. To me, the song is about the following pairs...

• Mabel and Dipper

• Melanie and Garroth

"Hey Mel! How's your day going?" Asked Garroth, smirking as he entered Melanie's room. She rolled her eyes, looking up from her book.

"It was going just fine, until you barged in." She said, smiling slightly. Garroth sat next to her on her bed, taking her book and skimming through it.

"Hmm... A book about magicks, huh?" He asked. Melanie nodded.

"Yep. I want to figure out what else there is to do with my magicks. I feel as if I haven't been using them as much, you know, especially since my magicks only work in this village." 

"Hey! I wanted to talk to you."

"Oh? What about?"

One tries to fly away

"... Father says I'm to marry the princess of Scaleswind."

"What?! That's horrible!"

"I know... And I'm not going to do it."

"How are you going to get out of it?"

"I'm faking my death and running away... And I want you to come with me."

And the other...

"Y-You do?"

"Yeah! I'm going to do it at the end of the week. You up for it?"

Watches him close from that wire

Melanie examined Garroth. She saw his grin, the ones that made all the girls go crazy. His eyes shined with excitement. She could see that he genuinely wanted to do this. Garroth didn't want to be forced to marry anyone.

He says he wants to as well

"S-Sure! Sounds like a plan!"

"Great! Meet me tomorrow at the gates for preparations."

But

Garroth stood up, and turned to face Melanie.

"Thanks for understanding." 

He is a liar

"Melanie how come you didn't come today to check on preparations?" Garroth asked as he entered Melanie's room. She gulped, closing her book.

I'll believe it all

"You won't understand." She whispered. Garroth smiled kindly.

There's nothing I won't understand.

"Of course I'll understand. You're my best friend, and my twin sister. You can tell me anything."

"... I guess I'm kind of hesitant to run away. I won't be able to use my magicks anymore, and that's all I have for protection, or as any kind of power."

"It's alright. You have me. I'll always protect you."

I'll believe it all

"Really?" Melanie asked. Garroth smirked, crossing over to her bed. He grasped her cold hand in his and squeezed it. 

"I promise."

I won't let go of your hand

"The end of the week is the day after tomorrow. Meet me tomorrow at the same place?" 

"Ok."

"See you then."

One says "Come on" and the other says "I'm tired"

"Alright, why didn't you come this time?" 

"I'm sorry Garroth! I'm just not ready!"

The sky's overcast and I'm sorry

"I don't know why, but it's like something is preventing me from wanting to run away with you! I want to always be by your side, but—"

One more or one less, nobody's worried.

I'll believe it all

"I understand, Melanie. Like I told you, I'll always know what's going through your mind."

There's nothing I won't understand.

"I believe you. You do want to go, but somethings holding you back. But Melanie, you have to learn to let go."

"I know."

I'll believe it all

"Tomorrow I'm running away. Everything is already prepared, so, if you really do want to come with me, I'll come here to get you."

"Ok Garroth.

I won't let go of your hand

"Garroth, hold on!" Melanie cried, gasping for breath. She couldn't keep up with the 14 year old boy, even though they shared the same genes. She had ran after Garroth, running through the forest to see what he was up to.

"Uh, where'd you go?" Melanie whispered to herself. The sky had gone dark, and she was getting scared. Garroth sneaked up from behind her, trying to surprise her.

"Boo."

Say that their always gonna be together

"Ah!" Melanie screeched, tumbling backwards. Garroth grabbed her hand and pulled her to her feet before she could fall.

"Ha! Got you. You're never gonna get rid of me." Garroth taunted. Melanie faked a pout.

"Yeah, I know. Just like your never going to get rid of me."

But one's never going to let go of that wire

"What are you doing out here?"

"I feel like Father is hiding something from me. I guess I just wanted to get away from the village."

"If I was looking for peace, I'd have stayed. O'Khasis is my home, and I could never leave."

"What if we had to run away someday?"

He says that he will 

"Well if you leave, then so will I!"

But he

Is just

 "Do I go or not...?" Melanie whispered to herself. She stared at her reflection in the mirror. Same curly sandy blonde hair, same ocean blue eyes, same rosy cheeks and somewhat sun-kissed complexion.

One tries to fly away

"Why does he want to leave?! I mean, being forced to marry someone is horrible, but... Maybe if we just talked to Father, then... No. Father wouldn't change his mind for the life of him."

And the other

"But why does he want me to go? I always want to be at Garroth's side, but leave O'Khasis?! He would never understand if I said no. He says he will, but.... I know better."

Should I leave, or not?"

Watches him close from that wire

"I wonder what he's doing right now anyways?" Melanie walked to her window,and saw Garroth outside in the courtyard, reading a book. Her heart broke when she saw the book was titled Maps of Minecraftia and its Regions.

He says he wants to as well but he is a liar.

"I'll do it." Melanie told herself.

But she wasn't fooling anyone.

Garroth entered the room, a small scowl on his face.

One tries to fly away

"So? Are you running away with me or what?" He asked, sounding both annoyed and desperate.
