Sam's Story(In Between Episodes 28 & 29)Part 3
A/N Ok, so it's the last chapter of Sam's Story. Get ready for some tears.
Sam's POV
"So then what happened?" Asked Ales, trying to change the thought in my mind.
"Then I found out." I said, sighing.
<><><>MEMORY<><><>
I pace my bedroom, which is in the castle. Ales sits on my bed, reading a book.
"Where is he? He's been gone too long." I say, twiddling my thumb. Ales rolls her eyes.
"Calm down, Sam. Zane will be back soon. He just went to a small village on the side of town for supplies, remember?" Asks Ales. Then, something hits me.
Why would Zane go to a village smaller then his for supplies?
Something wasn't right. I grab my sword and my black cloak, facing Ales.
"I'll be back." I say. She raises an eyebrow.
"Where are you going?" She asks. I bite my lip.
"To look for Zane. If I'm not back by tomorrow morning, go to Drake's and stay there, alright?" I ask. Ales bits her lip and nods reluctantly.
I turn and walk out the door.
As I walk through the forest, I notice a bright light coming from the West. I walk toward it, and what comes up makes my feel horrified.
A small village is on fire, and there are innocent people laying on the ground, dead. Children are running away while their parents are slaughtered by... O'khasis guards.
"HEY!" I yell at a pair of guards about to kill a man. They recognize me immediately and let go of the man.
"My apologies, Miss Sam, but what in Minecraftia are you doing here?" Asks a guard. I frown.
"Never mind that. Stop this at once." I order. The guard shakes his head.
"I'm afraid my orders come from the High Priest. If you would like this to end, take it up with him." Says the other guard.
Believe me I will.
I run through the burning village, trying my best to avoid contact with the corpses on the floor. I run past an alleyway, but stop when I hear screams of pain. I look in the alleyway, and horror passes my face.
Zane had stabbed a man who looked to be a Lord. He lets go and puts away his obsidian sword, smirking.
"Z-ZANE?!" I yell, shaking in fright. He turns and his eyes are filled with terror.
"S-SAM! WH-WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE--?!"
"THAT IS NOT THE QUESTION RIGHT NOW, IS IT?! WHY DID I JUST WITNESS YOU COMMITTING A MURDER?!" I yell. Zane walks up to me, but I step away, scared of what he was capable of.
"P-Please, you don't have to be afraid of me Sam." He pleads.
"Zane. Stop this." I say. Zane shakes his head.
"I'm afraid I can't do that." Zane says. I shake even more.
"H-How long have you been doing this? I-Is this what you do every time you tell me your going to find supplies for your village?" I ask quietly. Zane looks to the floor in shame.
"I told you my secret, yet you couldn't trust me with yours. Stop doing this, or I'll... I'll leave." I say. Zane looks up at me, sadness in his eyes.
"N-No, Sam please. You don't understand, I have no choice!" He says. I steady my breathing.
"You're wrong. You do have a choice. The difference here is you're afraid. This must be what gives you your power." I say.
Zane walks up to me and pulls me into a deep kiss. Out of instinct, I kiss back, my arms wrapping around his neck as his pull me closer to him. Then, he pulls away, a sad expression on his face.
"I-I'm sorry for what I have to do, Sam." He says, before lifting his hand and making a waving motion.
Two guards walk up to me and grab my arms, one of them taking away my sword. I let out a scream.
"ZANE!!! What are you doing?!" I yell.
"I'm sorry, Sam! I can't let you leave!" He yells.
I widen my eyes as the guard turn a corner, taking me with them.

"Sam, what do we do now?" Ales asks. I've been trying to pick the lock on the locked door and break the paned glass in the room, but nothing was happening. I quickly swipe hair out of my eyes.
"Ales, today I'm going to show you how to escape." I say, walking to the door.
You're not teaching her how to escape. You're teaching her how to run away.
I lift my leg and kick it down, and the door falls with a crash. I quickly grab Ales' hand and pull her out. We run past the O'Khasis guards, whom are confused and start to run after us. Ales turns and uses her magicks to lift the two guards up in the air, and she turns and keeps running, leaving them there.
I pass Zane's bedroom, but stop.
"Ales, go. I'll meet you at Drake's bakery." I say. She opens her mouth to protest, but I interrupt her.
"NOW!" I yell. She nods and runs, using her magicks to lift guards into the air.
I run into Zane's room, hoping to find something of value. I find nothing but his obsidian sword. I take it, no longer having one of my own and run away.
I never got to say goodbye.
<><><>MEMORY OVER<><><>
"Sam..." Ales started. I stopped her.
"Sh. Someone's coming." I whispered. We turned and looked to see Melanie running down the stairs of the boat.
"WAKE UP!!! THERE'S A STORM!!" She yelled. We ran up to deck, and I only had one thought in mind.
I never got to say goodbye.
