Episode 7

A/N Warning... You are about to read cry-worthy material!

As I got ready for bed, I noticed the communication amulet around my neck start to glow. I smiled, lifting the stone from my chest up to my lips.

"Hello?" I spoke into it.

"Melanie, where are you!? What were you thinking, come back right now!" A familiar voice was heard. I smiled when I remembered who it was.

"Dante, you know I can't do that." I said. I could hear Dante's tired, heavy sigh.

"Please, Mel?" He asked.

"No Dante, but maybe one day, I could see you at a secret place like at the portal." I said. Dante groaned.

"Speaking of the portal..." He told me everything that happened with the portal, and Aphmau.

"S-so we c-c-can't save him?" I asked, on the bridge of tears.

"I'm afraid not, Melanie." He said. I bit my lip to stop from crying, and a thought struck my mind.

"W-wait a minute... Who gave you Cadenza's amulet?" I asked. A shuffling noise was heard.

"Yeah um... About that." A different voice.

"C-Cadenza!? You told him where I am?" I asked.

"Cadenza, you know where she is?!" Dante asked alarmed.

"No I don't, I just met her halfway." Cadenza said. I could already imagine her pouting. The thought made me laugh.

"Cadenza, did you tell anyone else, and is anyone in the same room as you guys who is just being quiet?" I asked questionably. An uncomfortable silence fell upon them. I sighed, already knowing who.

"Levin and Malachi, you can talk." I groaned.

"How did you know we were here?" Asked Levin.

"You boys are a part of my life. Now, do you promise not to tell Laurence or Aphmau where I am?" I asked. Cadenza spoke.

"I'm afraid I can't promise anything. I won't tell Aphmau, but I will make Laurence know I'm not happy with him. I already did, but he thinks it's for calling me a trash can. He just happened to call me that as I remembered about you, so I punched him in the face." Said Cadenza. I laughed.

"Ok guys, I gotta go, but I'll talk to you tomorrow. Bye!" I said into the stone.

"Bye!" Multiple voices said before the amulet stopped glowing. I let the stone go, and sighed, thinking of my friends.

I lay in bed that night, thinking, while all the thoughts ran through me. I couldn't sleep. Normally, whenever I fell asleep, Garroth was sleeping next door to comfort me in case I got a vision, either that or Cadenza, or Dante, or Laurence. Finally, I was able to sleep, with this thought in my mind.

Don't worry, Garroth. I will save you.

I should've fallen asleep with a different thought in mind.

~-Dream-~

I looked around, finding myself in a familiar place.

"Lady Irene's dimension." I mumbled. What troubled me was- is this a vision, or a nightmare?

"Now, let's finish this." I turned around, finding myself on the top of the staircase that led to two people with their swords against each other's.

"Garroth!?" I yelled, realizing I was in complete control of my actions. He couldn't hear me. Something Amber told me was that once every month, for a whole week, I will get either visions, or nightmares. It could be a week of visions, a week of nightmares, or a week of both. Call me crazy, but I'd rather have a week of nightmares, because if I get a frightening vision, that means it's real and will happen. Just like the one vision that turned out to be real, the one that broke Garroth's heart.

I ran out to hug him, and to use my sword against Zane. But as I swung it through his body, nothing happened. It went through him like air.

Another thing that I remembered was Amber telling me I may have had complete control over my actions, but that didn't mean I could do anything. All I could do was watch.

Garroth swung his sword, Zane blocking it. Then, Zane swung towards Garroth's legs, but Garroth jumped. Then, they started clashing swords until Garroth was able to push Zane's sword out of his hands, and pin him to the ground.

"Any last words, Zane?" Asked Garroth. I cheered quietly to myself because Garroth had won this round.

All Zane did was chuckle.

"Ah... You underestimate me, brother."

The sound of a blade going through someone's stomach was heard.

I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion when I saw Zane sit up, smirking. Then, complete horror overcame me when I saw Garroth groaning, and wincing in pain as he fell to the ground.

I saw Zane holding a switch blade, covered to the hilt in red. Garroth lay on the floor, coughing up blood. I yelled in horror, tears streaming down my cheeks.

"Garroth!!" I screamed, running to him. Zane smirked when he saw the body, putting away his blade in his cloak.

"Now that that's done, all that's left is to find a portal, and leave." A portal appeared behind Zane at the snap of his fingers.

"Well, would you look at that?" Zane glared at Garroth's body before stepping in.

"Goodbye, brother." He said, stepping into the portal.

"Garroth, Garroth, come on!" I yelled, trying to shake his body into waking up. My hands went through his body like air every single time.

"At least I got to tell Aphmau how I felt about her, before I..." Garroth mumbled to himself.

"Nonononononono!" I kept repeating to myself as I tried to grab Garroth's arm, or feel Garroth's forehead, or check his pulse, or see if he was breathing alright. No use. I kept crying, freaking out because my twin was dying right in front of me, but I couldn't do anything.

Think of a good side, it'll get you out. Amber said that to me. I quickly started thinking of the good side to this.

Garroth was dying.

Zane hadn't paid.

Zane was going to destroy Phoenix Drop, and possibly all of Minecraftia

And here I was stuck in Lady Irene's dimension.... There is no good side!!

"Omigosh, Omigosh, Omigosh, NO!!" I yelled.

Garroth slowly stopped breathing, closing his eyes.

"PLEASE LET THIS BE A NIGHTMARE, NOOOO!!!" I screamed, trying and trying and trying to grab him. It didn't work.

"GARROTH!!!!" I screamed, crying my face off.

~-Dream Over-~

"Melanie, MELANIE!!! Wake up!" I fluttered my eyes open very quickly and bolted upright to the sound of someone shaking me.

"W-w-what happened?!" I asked. I had realized my lips tasted salty, and sure enough, I was crying.

"I don't know, I woke up, hearing you scream bloody murder, so I ran in, saw you crying, so I tried waking you up. What happened?" I turned and saw Jadyn, sitting next to me and rubbing my back.

"Jadyn I'm so sorry for waking you up, did I wake the others?" I asked. Jadyn shook her head.

"I was already awake. I had a nightmare of my own, so I woke up and then, while I got some water, I heard you scream." She explained. I nodded.

"I had a nightmare, too." I explained. Jadyn nodded.

"Do you want to talk about it? We could exchange nightmares." I offered. Jadyn nodded.

To explain my nightmare, I told her everything, including the Garroth being the Lord, and Zane being my brother. As soon as I finished my story, Jadyn shivered in fright.

"So, Zane might've killed your brother?" She whispered. I had only just realized it could've been a vision. But let's be honest here. If Zane was here, about half of Minecraftia should be destroyed.

"It was most likely a nightmare. You know Zane. By the way, how do you know Zane?" I asked. Jadyn took a deep, shaky breath.

"I'll tell you everything that happened between everything between me and Zane." She said. I kept quiet, only nodding.

"My mom was a bandit. One day, she tried robbing Zane, and well... It didn't go well. He caught her, and threw her in jail. I was born there. I don't know who my father was, or how my parents even met, but I think my father is dead. Anyways, when I was born, my mom had to raise me in a prison cell. I remember Zane coming to see us, and he would always remind my mom that one day, I would no longer be hers anymore, which would leave her in tears. I didn't know what it meant, so I ignored it. Until the day Zane came with his guards and demanded they grab me and my mom. I was thirteen, and they forced me into a chair, tying me up. Then, my mom was-" Jadyn stopped to swallow, her eyes becoming glassy.

"They forced me to watch Zane fire an arrow into her heart. Then, he looked at me and said I was to become a peace treaty, just like your brother. I was locked in a room, and I escaped by breaking a window and climbing out." Explained Jadyn, very close to tears.

I reached out for her and pulled her close, holding her in an embrace. I felt her cry into my chest as I played with her hair. She was still crying, afraid of the man named Zane.

"I'm so sorry you had to go through that, Jadyn. I truly am." I said, holding her.

"A-all my m-m-mom had robbed w-was a s-small baby rattle, f-for me. It was Zane's brother's rattle. She had gone to his room, and stolen it. Zane caught her in your brother's room, and his brother had demanded him to let my mother go, but Zane refused. It was such a long time ago, too. You and your brother being in Lady Irene's dimension explains so much. I just wished my mom wasn't cheap and hadn't stolen the rattle." Cried Jadyn, still crying. I held her tight, immediately feeling protective of her, like she was my sister.

"It's ok. Do you still have the rattle?" I asked. Jadyn nodded, getting up.

"I'll be back." She said.

A couple minutes later, Jadyn was back, holding a light blue rattle with white stripes. I remembered it from Garroth's bring-something-from-your-past at high school. He said his mother gave it to him.

"Can I hold it?" I asked. She smiled sweetly, handing it to me.

I held the rattle in my hands before tears dripped out of my eyes. I didn't even make any noise, tears just escaped my eyes and ran down my cheeks as I remembered Garroth.

"It's all I have of my mother." Jadyn told me as I handed the rattle back.

"I'm sorry, again." I said. She nodded.

"Well, we must head back to sleep. Good night." I explained as Jadyn left the room.

I was afraid to sleep now. If it was vision/nightmare time, it was going to take a while to sleep.

3rd POV

"Laurence, I need to talk to you." Cadenza said. They were alone at the tree guard tower, and Cadenza was ready to let her fury out.

"What is it Cadenza?" Asked Laurence, genuinely confused. You see, his lover had just run away from him, and he had no idea why. Was it because she no longer loved him?

"How dare you only date Melanie out of trying to make someone jealous!?" Cadenza yelled. Laurence was taken aback.

"What do you mean?" Asked Laurence. Cadenza glared at her brother.

"I ran into Melanie on the way here, and she told me all about you and you lying to her! I thought I taught you better, you jerk!" Cadenza cried.

Laurence had no idea what she was talking about.

"Cadenza, what are you-" Then, it hit him.

When Laurence went out to get Melanie some roses in hopes to get her back, he had been abducted for about ten minutes by a guy with shirt, brown hair. He didn't tell anyone because it would've been a lost cause anyways. But, when he tried to escape, Laurence saw a potion of body changing with a piece of his hair in it. It must've meant someone turned into him, tricked Melanie, and broke her heart making her think it was him, when in reality, it wasn't.

"WE HAVE TO FUND MELANIE RIGHT NOW!" Laurence yelled, running to the town gates.
