Episode 5

A/N I'm so ready to write this all! Ok, I'm joking, I already wrote it on a different app cause there ain't NO way I'm watching all the videos again.

I walked out of the gate, taking one last glance at it before leaving. If I remembered correctly, Amber should be living in the forest now, living her peaceful, forest life that she had always wanted. So, I started running. I ran deeper and deeper into the forest, having absolutely no idea where I was, but all I knew was that I was far.

Bam!

I literally ran straight into a brown horse with iron armor. I fell on my back, groaning and wincing at the pain. Someone gasped.

"Omigosh, I'm soooo sorry! I just lost my partner, Katlyn, and- Wait... Melanie!?"

I blinked, and my vision became less blurry. A familiar head of orange hair came into view as she jumped off her horse.

"Cadenza!?" I yelled, gaping my mouth open as she helped me up.

"Melanie... IT IS YOU!! WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?!?! AFTER THE SHIP BROUGHT US BACK, YOU WERE NO WHERE, AND PEOPLE SAID YOU... YOU..." She burst into tears.

"Cadenza, it's me. I'll explain everything, but it might take a while-"

"I don't care, just tell me what happened- wait.... IS LAURENCE OK?!" She asked. A lump in my throat got bigger, but I swallowed it.

"He's fine, but... You see..."

It took a while to explain to Cadenza everything, and when the part about Garroth came up, I almost burst into tears again. But I managed to keep it down.

"Oh my... Melanie, I'm so sorry. You must miss him terribly. I don't know what I would do if Laurence got stuck there. Speaking of which... what happened to Laurence's memory?"

"Umm, well..." I told Cadenza about Laurence and the money.

"THAT JERK!!! I THOUGHT I HAD TAUGHT HIM BETTER! OH, WHEN I GET MY HANDS ON HIM-" I quickly shook her.

"No, you're not. No one can no where I am. Not even Dante." I said. She nodded, biting her lip.

"So, what now?" She asked. I thought for a minute. If she's on her way to see Aphmau, then Aph's sure to tell her everything I just did.

"Cadenza, I know I just talked your ear off, but when you see Aphmau, you have to pretend that you don't know anything. Even if it means you have to listen to the whole story again. Ok?" I asked. Cadenza nodded.

"Of course. Anything for my best friend." She replied. I got up, wiping my cloak which I had sat on.

"You're wearing the dress and cloak I made you when I first got here!" She said, bouncing up. I smiled, knowing I was.

"Garroth, I know we have to wear our armor twenty-four seven, but... I need to find something to wear in my house." I complained. Garroth rolled his eyes. I think, he was wearing his helm.

"Listen Melanie... There's a new girl in the village, her name is Cadenza, and she's said to be a seamstress. You can go right now if you want, your post is over anyways." Garroth said. I smiled, hugging him before I left.

I entered the store, looking around.

"Hi! I'm new here, and my name is Cadenza. What's yours?" A girl with bright, orange hair and a white, lacy dress said. I smirked.

"My name is Melanie, I'm a head guard." I explained. She smiled sweetly.

"Uh, I need something to wear aside from my armor. Can you make me something, if it's not a hassle." I said nervously. Cadenza laughed.

"Of course! Now, I'm going to need you to take off your armor, and-"

"Oh, um... I can't." I said. Cadenza furrowed her eyebrows in confusion.

"And why not?" She asked. I bit my lip.

"It's hard to explain." I said, hoping the subject would drop. It didn't.

"Now Melanie, if you want me to make you something, I need to be able to measure you. And to see your eyes so I know what to make you." Cadenza explained. I sighed.

"All right." I mumbled, taking off the clunky material which revealed my white tank top and blue jeans. She gasped as my blonde sandy hair fell to my shoulders.

"Oh my... YOU HAVE THE MOST GORGEOUS EYES AND HAIR!! I'm so jealous! You look beautiful, Melanie." She said. I blushed.

"No I'm not..." I said, remembering all the gorgeous, green eyed girls back at O'kasis.

"Yes you are! I know EXACTLY what to make you!" She cried, pulling her supplies from her cabinets.

A couple of hours later, I was twirling in a white dress, barefoot.

"It's perfect!" Cried Cadenza, gasping. Then, she tapped her chin, mumbling something under her breath.

"Got it!" She cried, making me jump.

"Got what?" I asked, lifting an eyebrow. She quickly went to a small closet, and pulled out a light blue cloth, along with a pair of black flats.

"Here, try this on." She motioned the shoes towards me. I nodded, slipping my feet in like butter was rubbed in them. They fit perfectly.

"Great! Now this!" She said, handing me the light blue cloth. I took it from her, and as I lifted it, I saw it was a cloak. I pinned it on, the little pin was a white jewel. The hood of the cloak went over my head, and covered my blonde curls.

"Oh wow, it's amazing! I can't believe I haven't made this outfit before, actually. I should try one for me, but instead of blue, maybe orange?" I chuckled.

Then, a noise came from the door. I looked up and noticed a familiar armored man.

"Hey Garroth!" I said, smiling. He cocked his head to the side as he took in my new clothing.

"What do you think?" I asked, twirling around.

"Well, the uniform did get old- wait, you're not wearing your helm! Did you..." He asked. I nodded, feeling guilty.

"Isn't she awesome?" Asked Cadenza. I bit my lip.

"Um, we have to go now... But we can talk some other time, right?" I asked, walking into one of the changing rooms to get my armor back on.

"Yeah, ok!" I heard her cheerful voice.

~-Memory Over-~

"Of course I am. It's amazing." I said smiling.

"Listen, I have to go... My old magicks instructor, Amber, I'm gonna find her." I explained. Cadenza nodded, giving me a hug. I hugged back, and we smiled at each other before she saddled up on her horse.

"Take this. I don't need it anyways, I've got more at home. Besides, you were always better than me at sword fighting." Said Cadenza, handing me a sword. I smiled, putting it on my back.

"And... I got you this." She said, placing a stone with some string tied to it.

"It's a communication amulet. I was going to give it to Katlyn, so we don't get seprated again, but I'd rather give it to you and talk to you whenever I need to." Said Cadenza. I examined the stone again. It was a light blue stone, and the string was white.

A ruffling sound was heard in the trees. I snapped my head up, staring at the trees in fright.

"Cadenza? You there?" Katlyn. I looked up at Cadenza.

"I've gotta go! She'll find me, and take me back. Bye!" I said, running deeper into the forest.

"Goodbye!" Cadenza called after me.

A/N OC's revealed next chapter!
